Took a domestic flight to Jakarta recently, just a quick trip and had already lined up my 'companionship' for the night. However, the flight crew is usually fairly easily approachable. It's not difficult to get their numbers if you catch them after the flight.

A couple of times I have gone to the back of the plane to make idle chit chat with them, but never got the one I wanted alone, and was afraid I might get her in trouble if I asked for her number in front of other people she works with.

I got a bit irritated and said we hadn't been there for close to an hour. So, the massage continued for a few minutes, and then at 11:25 the girl said someone was telling her time was up, and that was the end. In other words after 40 minutes or less the session was over.

I proceeded to leave, did not tip (I almost always do) and had my friend who speaks fluent Indonesian tell the guy who took my money that I had been short-changed on time. His response was the place closes at 11 pm so I couldn't get an hour session. I told him (of course with no expectation of getting any money back) that if they charge 600,000 rupiah for an hour, and only let me have 40 minutes without telling me this in advance (actually the last few were pretty worthless given I was not happy about the girl trying to end the session after about 30 minutes) they should refund 200,000 rupiah. I got back a silly smile along with the ole wai (sorry about the Thai terminology, is it "sembah" in Indonesia?) as though that somehow compensated me.

I now know the place closes at 11 pm; I didn't know that before. Shouldn't I have been informed of this when I at 10:45 pm I picked one of their eight or nine girls vying for my attention? Had they informed me they were going to try to end my session after 30 minutes, I never would have agreed to pay them the 600,000 rupiah, but would have rather headed to Blok M. Am I being unreasonable?

Back in the late 90's and early 2000's, the night shift was rockin', but I can't think of a really good girl on the night shift since around 2003.

I've never heard of the place closing at 11 pm though. That's good to know. In the past, I have taken girls after 11 pm many times and gotten my full hour at Maribaya. But that was when they were open until midnight. Then again, I haven't taken a night shift girl in at least 5 years.

I always understood Maribaya had two shifts; 11 am until 5 pm and 5 pm until 11 pm, with a bit of overlap if a girl was still busy with a client. I never knew you could already go there at 10 am. Might be good news on some days when the mood hits you. As far as I know (but I may be mis-informed) 11 pm was always closing time. I can recall only one occasion of taking a night shift girl and it wasn't very memorable. As you say: day shift is way better.

Once again I have returned to Jakarta for a bit of 'R&R', not so fortunate as some of you who have female companions waiting for you, I need to find
