Hello World Travel 69! Had not seen any post from you in a while and hope you are doing well. I always want to take an opportunity to thank you for putting together the Map and the List, I recently reposted your map and list to the top of the Medellin Map and List thread and I just did the same thing in Cartagena List thread.

Anyone got contacts for a Trusted Cab or Uber that you always use when in Cartagena? I like to find one or 2 and keep them in my contacts when I need to get around. And I'm talking about people that are good peoples, that you can break bread with and chill kind of taxi driver.

I never felt the need to have a personal trusted driver there. I take a cab when I need it, and it is 2-3 times a day from Laguito to Centro and back, and from / to airport. Only sometimes they tried to overcharge me. Just know what are the standard fares, and avoid taking the cabs right in front of a club.

Just know what are the standard fares, and avoid taking the cabs right in front of a club.[/QUOTE]I was going to respond the same as Black Page, if you are staying inside the old city where there is very little traffic then you may have to walk a few blocks in the direction of a busy street to get a taxi but in Bocagrande and in El Laguito you just walk outside as demonstrated by this photo I took in El Laguito. I should point out that this photo was taken after a particularly bad downpour and there was huge pool of water in the street slowing down traffic and that caused all these taxis to get backed up a little but it still shows how many taxis are available

Best night yet. .[/QUOTE]My friend, that's because is better to get that places with a local, 256 USD for a shot of whiskey is just a fraud, Perhaps it is a misunderstanding, or so I hope, if there is something I hate is that they try to take advantage of tourists in this way, But unfortunately, this has become quite common in the city, my recommendation is that you try to be paired with someone who knows the city, if it is a local much better, in this way you will save a lot of money since in Cartagena there are two prices for everything, one for tourists and one for locals, including girls, bars, tours and also on the beach.

Today there is also a curfew from 00:00 to 05:00, therefore everything will be closed from 23:30 hours, more or less. Tomorrow everything returns to normal, that is, until 01:00 am.

Beach: One of the best beaches in Cartagena is the island of Baru in the Playa Blanca sector, you can get there by land or by boat by land, it is usually cheaper but it is a trip of approximately an hour or an hour and a half, the beaches located in the Tourist area like Bocagrande or El Laguito are very crowded but they are not even close to the best beaches in Cartagena. Another very good option is the Rosario Islands or Punta Arena, they are beaches with much more crystalline and blue water.

Regarding sexual lingo, You can say 'Chiquito' if you are going to refer to the ass, or anal sex, it is the most common and most popular word in Colombia, and by the way you will surprise her because it is not very common for foreigners to know this particular term.

There's more to Cartagena then just those places. I want to check out Manga. I hear that's a nice place to get an apartment or condo. Not that I need it, but I'd like to check out the strip clubs. There's only one in City Center, but I heard there are more in the city of Cartagena. As I get more and more comfortable with an area, I'd like to see more of it, but I don't just solo out on an adventure. I look for a guide / taxi who doesn't mind showing me around for some money.

For now you are going to have to ask that people meet you in a public location in the Old City somewhere to get in touch.

Here's the thing about Cartagena. There's no shortage of taxis, islands, beaches, bars, and pussy. Covid has slowed things down substantially but you don't need a guide or a specific apartment or anything like that. Go down and explore. It is half the fun.

Where the guide may come in handy is if he can steer the Newbe to some of the better providers. I am talking price wise and service. Of course it all depends on the knowledge and honesty of the guide.

Bocagrande was packed Sunday. I think that people are escaping cities on lockdown and coming down to Cartagena because it's less restrictive. Touts are still in force but not as aggressive. I posted up in Oscar's area and enjoyed a day at the beach.

The Christmas lights are still up in the Clock Tower area and the policia was getting people out of the plaza just before midnight. Girls were out on surrounding streets. If you like arepas, check out ColombItalia on Carrera 9 a. Some of the best I have had. Chicas out in this area as well.

I mainly just wanted to lay around on the beach, which I was staying oceanfront in Boca, and swim in the warm ocean. I used a "guide" who hung out by the building and sold tourist tours. I liked the guy and he was able to show me pics of the girls for my shopping pleasure. He would bring them right to me and they were HOT. I asked and they told me that he made 50 mil to set them up. I saw the girls again after the first meeting without going through him and he knew it. He saw us going out for meals ect. a few times. I had no problem with paying this cool kid about $16 US to hook me up with great chicas. When I left I gave him a bag of goodies including beers, mota, food and a few other items I didn't need to bring home.

I'm heading out to the old city this evening and I'm hoping to find a little bit of street action. I'm just curious if there are any short term hotel options there as I am staying in an airbnb that doesn't allow guests. Frankly, I don't think I would want to bring one back to my room anyways. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I do have am acount so you can pm me if that would be easier.
