There's no vaccine available for HepC as of now, but it's on the way.

Meanwhile, make sure you get your HepA/B shots. It's a very good & cheap insurance if you visit SE Asia frequently!

But as Cebu local says, it aint all a bed of Roses, there IS A DOWNSIDE. Having lived, worked and mongered in Davao, Cagayan De Oro and now living in CEBU I must say there are things I miss about the good ol US, so it is a trade off.

Yes the ladies are the main atttraction and dont take this wrong but after a while the mongering lifestyle appeals to those who first arrive here but after awhile the novelty wears off and you will be looking for some stability. But first you must play around so Wander luster and the rest of you guys by all means visit and enjoy the PI but also use it as a central base from which to launch your mongering operations to Thailand, Singapore and Hong kong.

PS Wander luster if you do get to the Phils and want to have a sit down, just PM me and I'll give you my digits, I now reside in Cebu and I suggest you look into the place, better by far than Manila, lots of growth potential for new businesses of ANY sort and an international airport, cost of living cheaper than Manila too.

We all know that the GRO's are STD tested prior to obtaining their licence to work in the bar. But I'm unclear on two things.

1) How often are they tested (weekly, bi-monthly, monthly)?
2) What exactly are they tested for?

I know this has been discussed in the past but any additional info on this topic would be appreciated.

Guinness[/QUOTE]It's weekly for syph, clap, etc which the doc takes a swab from their beaver for testing. They only get an HIV test once per year. However if they get barfined by Bareback Bill then they get quarantined for 30 days until a full battery of tests are completed. :)

A visual test would only catch a herpes outbreak or genital warts but it's surprising that they wouldn't test for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis, etc. Quite disturbing actually.

Tak boleh. I would say it's true. Imagine there are 2000+ girls and all go for a weekly test. How much time does the doc can take for each girl? Usually those tests are done within 5 minutes a girl told me.

Hi, I am going to be in PI from Dec 2-17. I am going to spend the first 3 nights in Angeles, but then want to head off for some scuba diving in various locations. I plan to go to Subic and Puerto Galera, but am looking for another location down near Cebu/Bohol region. Possibly Dumagette. I am looking for good dive spots with some strong possibility for action. I have searched the boards and came up with a few suggestions, but nothing definitive. Any ideas? I am 37, average looking at best, and in decent shape, if that matters.

combing diving with mongering is a great way to spend your vacation, plenty of both here! Anyhow, Check into Cebu pacific web site for flights directly to Cebu, once here you have many options for diving, you can take a bus to Moalboal or Malapasqua, both terrific sites with a lot of underwater scenery these places are not over run with tourists like Boracay and reasonably priced. You can also take the jet boat to Bohol plenty of Dive action.

Just a note, there is not much Mongering available in those three locales, oh you can usually find companionship if you look hard enough but there just isn;t much. You can always "bring your own" from Cebu, many of the bar queens will jump at the chance to be your personal guide to these areas or you might find a "regular" girl.

Last, also look into going to Davao for some real interesting diving, one of the leading guides runs a resturuant calle "de bonte cow" A few old WW2 wrecks and some great coral formations near Samal island. Also Davao mongering will be more acessible for you so you dont have to BYOB.

How long is the bus ride to these places on Cebu Island? I'm not a diver, so are they also good for beaches/swimming/snorkeling? Any hotel recommendations?

SH also mentioned Davao and Bohol. I'm not a diver, but both places have reasonable beaches and snorkeling. Panglao, Bohol has great beaches and can be reached by 90 min from Cebu by ferry plus a short taxi ride. I stayed at ISIS on Alona beach and I brought a regular lady with me. She went along with everything I wanted.
Typical day:wake up ...sex...shower...more sex...swimming... shower...lunch...sex... relax on...beach....snorkel...shower ...sex...etc.

The original poster suggested Dumaguete. One idea is to fly to Dumaguete, dive and play, then ferry to Bohol, dive (byob). You could fly out of Taclibaran, or ferry 90 min back to Dumagute, or 90 min on to Cebu where there is a lot of p4p action.

In my one visit to Moalboal way back in 1998 there was a pretty healthy bar girl scene. From talking to guys who have been there it looks like it´s still the same or maybe even better.

As far as combining diving with full-on brass pole bargirl stuff your options are somewhat limited. Puerta Galera comes to mind first. Also, there´s the Subic and Barrio Baretto area. It has a so so bar scene and World War 2 wreck dives out in the bay. There´s also an old, old Spanish-American war ship that´s barely recognizable now.

Mactan is another possibility but I always found the diving lackluster. Also, if you´re staying at the Mactan beach resorts it´s a long way into the city to hit the bars and even a bit of a drive just to get to what there is in Lapu Lapu.

Davao has pretty good diving. But the bargirl scene is limited, as numerous posts on the Davao thread will tell youl.

Dumaguete has even better diving, but even less of a bargirl scene. There are a few desultory bars near the airport. The Why Not bar or trolling the seafront park MAY sometimes turn up something. The trike drivers usually brought good semipro student types to me for reasonable prices. Davao and Dumaguete are both better for hunting regular girls.

Bohol has really good diving but really is a bring your own place. I hear that Malapascua (which I haven´t been to yet) is something similar.

Duka Bay Resort, between Cagayan de Oro and Butuan, has good diving at a small underwater preserve. The nearby towns of Gingoog and Medina don´t really have girlie bars but they do supply lots of girls to the internet dating sites.
