I recieved an email asking me about this place [url]www.taboovillas.com[/url] . On the pictures i recognised one girl that i had seen from the Cabarete CASINO . It'S the one with a scar on ther left breast .

Any info ???

I do recognize one of the other girls on there. Unless I'm mistaken she is from one of the clubs in PP. I also think she has a twin sister. I'm looking for a pic that I may have of her for comparison...lol. There was another all inclusive adult resort in PP that had photos posted where I recognized a girl from one of the clubs as well. I guess they are "on call" and come by when requested from the site.

My buddies and I are planning to go to DR in dec for the first time. The only problem we have is trying to decide where exactly do we want to go. I heard a lot of good things about BB's, Sosua and Punta Cana, well Higuey to be exact.

What would you recommend for a newbie in his early 20's looking for a memorable time?

Looking for some current info on Cabarete, in particular "chica friendly" hotels or apartments, as well as any info on the current state of "the scene" in Cabarete. I am currently considering the condo's at Magnifico's. If anyone can advise it would be greatly appreciated. Did Sosua last year and had a great time, a little afternoon delight everyday at "La Passions" ...great girls. Met some nice ex-pats hanging out at little burger joint mid strip, run by a nice Danish man named Tom, great conversation and cold beers. Also hit Clasicos everynight and found some good talent. All in all Great trip, excellent value, amazing beach.

I am trying to learn Spanish because I am planning to travel to the Latin American countries soon, going to D.R. in December with a friend who has family there and to Cuba sometime later in 2008. Also my family is planning to go to Guatemala in April. I just came back from Puerto Rico and realized that my Spanish is horrible. I did have fun in P.R. but only if I knew Spanish, I know for a fact that I would of had an excellent time.

Well first let me tell yaw that my mother is Black and my father is Guatemalan. I m always being asked if I am Puerto Rican or Dominican. Being around my father side of the family I can understand Spanish very well for the most part, that even Tios and Tias have to watch what they say in Spanish around me. But the problem is I can’t speak it at all, when I try too I mess up the words and everything else.

So basically what I am asking is that could anybody recommend any ideas. I'm planning to take Spanish classes at the local university but not sure if it will help since I did take Spanish in college and in high school. Also I’m planning on buying the Rosetta Stone software, with all that I m doing to you think that I will be ready by December for my D.R. trip.

Do yaw think that the Rosetta Stone really works, heard that people can hold conversation in Spanish with in 3 months

What are they changing the dollar at now on pedro clisante or the dude at the beach,, lets say $100 at a time or more. Would it be better to just take money out if the ATM you think these days? AND CAN you send a text through the internet VIA ORANGE webpage or whatever other cellphone company they have down there like other countries! Thanks and Kind Regards!

The Rosetta Stone is better for getting the basics right and pronunciation, since you can practice saying the words and phrases and the software will tell you when you get it right. The Pimsleur is better for immediate conversaton (how to find a bathroom, etc.). I downloaded both using bit torrent (just google "rosetta stone spanish torrent" and then look up bit torrent in wikipedia.

I can now hold a somewhat intimate conversation with chicas from colombia and d.r., even though I still have a lot to learn. Just focus on saying the basic nouns and verbs properly and don't worry about all the tenses until later! it has made a big difference in my dealings with the pros.

And the phones (at least my Claro is fine for texting)

JetBlue flights from Boston

JetBlue Airways is announcing a non-stop service to the DR's second city, Santiago de los Caballeros, this winter. Flights will depart Logan International Airport. The once-daily holiday shuttle will operate between 12 December 2007 and 15 January 15 2008. The airline will then assess whether bookings merit it to add a year round BOS-STI service.

JetBlue will operate the new flights - Boston's only non-stop service to Santiago - flying the Airbus A320 with capacity for 150 passengers. One-way fares start as low as US$109 (plus taxes and charges) each way between Logan and Santiago's Cibao International Airport. "We're thrilled to be adding this new service to Santiago just in time for the holidays", said Marty St. George, JetBlue's vice president of network planning. "Our Boston customers keep asking for more affordable services to the Caribbean, and we're pleased to bring it to them."

The new daily service will depart BOS Terminal C at 11:10 pm arriving at 3:55am +1. It will depart STI at 4:50 am, arriving at BOS's Terminal E at 7:50am.

If you have never been to the DR, but would like to meet some Dominicans and get an idea of what it might be like to have a Dominican novia, then you might like to see this video I took recently of a family preparing dinner in the countryside (campo) of the DR. The cerveza had been flowing, courtesty of the gringo novio, of course.

Yes, gallina is a hen, and gallo is a cock (but not in the ISG sense),
but this mountain chicken is called a lagina, which has the letters reversed. (Sounds like vagina, doesn't it?)

You hear her say the word several times in the video and it is not just her getting it wrong, because I was talking about this to my dentista, saying we had eaten this type of chicken, and she said, "oh, you mean lagina, I don't like them much."
