Can any of the Bali locals tell me the average/normal weekly or monthly wage a Bali shop girl earns.

Depends on the shop of course. But usually 400,000 to 600,000 rp a month.
A servant in a home gets about the same. Plus makan x 2.

My friend has a Motorbike repair shop, she pays 4 to 6 for machanic, and 1 jt
for a manager.

At 10,000 rp = $1.00 1 jt = $100.00 a month.

This is the main reason that the senior members are adamant about Johns that over pay WG's. 1 jt for ST is insane. Don't pay that much.

What's your budget? In Bali you can pay anywhere from US $15.00 to
$1500.00 at Amandari. And what area of Bali?

W or WO AC?, Hot water?, American Breakfast? A lot of ways to go. There are
many recommedations in the Bali Forum.

A typical shop girl can earn anywhere between $60 - 120 USD (monthly) give or take. I'd say the average is more close to the low end though. Everyone reading these posts should keep this in mind when paying for services.

Hi Man,

The budged would be 70 bucks +/- per day (if its nice place up to 100$) food and fun excluded. I intend to stay 2 month, I just want to have a private place, no hassle with hotel service " roomservice Sir, can we clean the room please? " and stuff like that.

I just like my privacy. The idal place would be close to the beach, not too many guests around, not too far from the action, restaurants, bars.

I am just tired and need a break.

Mighty Spearsman is right.

You can do the old Singapore bounce back over and over again, no questions asked.

You don't even have to clear immigration or customs in Singapore. You get off the plane, sit in the lounge for less than an hour, and then you get back in the plane.

Lion Air operates a Denpasar -- Singapore -- Denpasar positoning flight which is very affordable. Rp1.3 million there and back.

The next cheapest direct flight to Sing is Garuda for over Rp3.3 million.

Only downside is the Lion Air leaves Bali at 1am or thereabouts and gets into Sing about 4am. Coming back it leaves Sing at 6am.

Other bounce-back cheapies are Bali -- Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia, or Jakarta -- Johore Bahru in Malaysia with Air Asia.

Forget about Dilli in Timor or Darwin or Perth, they are all over Rp3.6 million last time I looked and youcan't do them there and back same day.

These 3 areas are your best bet.

Seminyak for great food and accommodations.

Jimbaran for good food, beach Fish Restos and great Hotels

Sanur for quiet, decent food, lots of WG's modest price. And very Balinese Hotels.

These 3 have Hotels on the beach, restos on the beach and close to the
action.

Now check out the internet and target those areas.

This is a great site to find vacation rentals throughout the world direct from the owner (usually vacation properties) and bypass the middle man. I've used it for Mexican resort towns and had great success.

Carnevalisticus, I live in Seminyak, which is party central.

there is a place near me, which has private villas for rent. 100 m to the beach, 5 minutes walk to the famed 66 club, in the middle of all the hot bars and restaurants.

I went there today to ask about a place for you. They have 2 bedroom units available, by the month for 2,000 USD. they have a kitchen open air bathrooms, and a plunge pool, meaning you can jump in and cool off and have fun with a girl, but you won't be able to swim laps.

The place looks nice. if interested, PM me, and I will send you pics and contact info.

PS. I am questionning your choice of a place in Candidasa. After 2 days there, you will be bored out of your mind, there is absolutely nothing there. It is 90 minutes away from any kind of fun.

I agree with 1ball. If you want action, you might not want to be in Candi Dasa.
It's a great area if you have a new squezz and and just want to get away.

You can also have the hotel order a woman from that area but you might
not get the quality that you are looking for. Just ask for the Hotel manager
and he will get a few to come by the hotel and you can choose the one you want.
Also great beaches and boat rides. Try it for a few days and then get back
to the areas of Fun in South Bali.

Hi gentlemen,

A friend and I will be in Bali for the first time, kuta dec 23-26 and ubud dec 27-30th, since I hear there is not much action in ubud, I'm wondering.

Would it be possible or advisable to take a couple of girls from kuta or sanur? Maybe from an x house, overnight or 2 days?

Where is best to find long time girls? And how much more or less should we expect to pay?

Any Info or idea is greatly appreciated.

I'm no expert on Bali, but I was there recently for 9 days...Kuta, Sanur, and Ubud. I think taking a girl to Ubud is a great idea. I'd focus on meeting a freelancer at a disco in Kuta...preferabely one without a manager. That way you can have some extended time together for an "interview" and an overnight try out. Girls from the x houses in Sanur may not speak much English, they have a pappasan and prohibitively high take out costs, and no real opportunity to get to know them well on a personal basis first. I've been told that all the girls at Paddy's have a manager, so I'd start the search elsewhere...perhaps Engine Room across the street. How much to pay depends on your negotiating skills, personal chemistry with the girl, and other factors...but I would think 900k might be your goal. Regulars in this forum may suggest otherwise.
