I am coming to Jakarta for a visit and will be living in serpong area. I did RTFF but was not able to find good info. Request help on find places like classic or independent.

Or massage plus plus (BJ and more) in the said vicinity.

Sanysh.[/QUOTE]I presume you will be staying in one of the hotels. The hotel would have a massage service. You could call for an in room massage or speak to the concierge. He will be able to arrange the girls in your room. Tangerang had banned karaoke bars and also night clubs. Am not sure whether it is still existing. Nevertheless, you can visit any of the bars in the hotels and you fill loads of ayams floating in the bars.

Some gems and generally good to very good service.

Almost all the massage parlours in Hayam Wuruk area will start at 11 am. 6th floor, Maribaya starts at 10 am. Though, by the time most of the girls land is by at 12 noon.

Sanysh.[/QUOTE]Hotel Atlet, next to Plaza Senayan has a massage parlor. You could expect plus plus if you go the parlor for a negotiated rate. If you are lucky, you can get FS. But, if you are staying in the room, you could order for massage in the room and FS is guaranteed for a negotiated rate.

What's up with all the black African prostitutes at CJ's these days? I'm not sure who would prefer those girls over the Indo chicks, but it does seem like they get customers. From what I understand, they started at BATS, but after a few nights, BATS has banned them from the bar permanently. So they hit CJs now. Personally, I think the manager at BATS made the right move there.

Visited Jakarta for the first time on my way to BKK. Below is a brief summary of my findings.

Taxis: Bunch of touts everywhere. Was charged 350,000 Rupia from the airport to the hotel in North Jakarta. For the return trip, I was charged half of that amount. When returning from clubs late at night, they refuse to put the meter and charge exuberant amounts.

ATM: I could not withdraw cash at most places, including the airport. And when I do, I would get a stack of small bills. The highest note is 100,00 which is equivalent to $ 7. Good news is that the clubs accept full payment with CC for an extra charge.

Costs: Was spending $ 400/ day average on women+food+taxis. Way beyond my budget.

Places Visited:

A. Hotel Alexis: Was charged 2. 6 millions for a Chinese girl that I would rate a 6 max. Everything was covered (! Went to the restaurant afterward and ordered a burger and a soda. Was charged almost 300,000 Rupiah (due to a 30% surcharge). Then went to the lounge bar. I was charged 100,000 Rupia for entrance. There were a total of 4 dancers in the bar on a Sunday evening. This place is overrated and a highway robbery.

'be'. King Crossings: Visited this place after the disappointing Alexis fiasco. I was IGNORED the entire time I was there by all: Waiters, mamasans, and the women. After staying for almost 1. 5 hours and visiting all 3 floors, I decided to leave empty handed.

'see'. Malioboro Hotel: The only place I can recommend. Had good times and I ended visiting the place on 3 consecutive nights. It is expensive, but not as Alexis above.

1. The women in street clothes cost 1 million. Got me a good looking one but bit shy. After going doing on her, she offered BBFS for 0. 5 million tip. I obliged but no cip. I took her again the next day.

2. The ladies in stripper clothing costs more, way more. Invited the first night a hottie to sit down with me. 250,000 Rupia (I. E. 5 shots of grape juice!) for a lap dance in the bar. Then proceeded to a booth for a BJ for 1 million are. Asked for FS. She said virgin. I said I am the Pope. She replied 3 millions. I declined. She ordered 20 shots of grape juice, which she threw all on the floor.

3. Next night, I got me another spinner stripper. Ordered her shots for a lap dance (250,000 R). Offered BJ, I asked for FS. She replied it is the time of the month. When I told her to get off me then, she rescinded. She asked for 2. 6 millions. Insisted on rubber use, I told her to take a hike.

4. Monday afternoon, I visited the spa. Got me a hot one for 1 million Rupia. Offered BBFS + cip for a small tip.

Overall: Mixed feelings: High costs, crooked taxis, ugly city / some nice looking women. I would not return immediatley, but might in few years as I need to camouflage my frequent visits to BKK.

In my experience, that also tends to be the case in Indonesia, particularly when it comes to service.

With the exception of King Cross, the places you visited were some of the more expensive places in Jakarta, and IMHO not really worth it (particularly Alexis). It would be like restricting one's mongering in Rio to Centaurus, or perhaps Bomboa in Sao Paulo although these analogies are not perfect in that at least in those Brazilian locales you could pretty much expect good service (albeit at a high price).

And it also looks like you didn't do your homework about taxis, unless your airport taxi to North Jakarta was by choice a Silver Bird or luxury White Horse (and even with those what you paid seems a tad too much). The only place you visited where you might have had trouble getting a metered taxi (e.g. , a Blue Bird, cheaper-version, i.e., not luxury, White Horse, or Express) was Alexis; indeed I got a metered taxi back from King Cross without any trouble about a week ago (although had to walk across the street to a taxi queue to get it), and never had any problem getting one from Malioboro. On the other hand, I actually prefer paying a premium to be driven from the airport to my hotel in a Silver Bird Mercedes Benz, and believe the cost (around $25 US to Central Jakarta) is one of the best taxi bargains worldwide.

Just to note for future trips, if you do go to Penjay (e.g., Sari Ayu, or LABar), it [I]is[/I] difficult to get honest taxis from there. The ones who congregate outside that compound tend to be the type that do not turn on their meters. As a result I often try to flag a Blue Bird or Express on the street, but sometimes have had to wait five or ten minutes to get one.

As to the ATMs, I have never had a problem with the ATMs in Jakarta, although usually take out money from ATMs in places like Plaza Indonesia. My ATM card is based on the U.S.

Have to agree with you that Jakarta is an ugly city.

Short story is if you had stuck to Blue Birds, Expresses, and to a lesser extent the white White Horses, you almost certainly wouldn't have had taxi problems. And on your next trip I would advise trying some of the other locales within Jakarta, unless you are the type who needs to frequent the most luxurious and expensive places.

When you're at the airport look for the Bluebird or Silverbird stand. Ignore the touts as they will certainly rip you off. If you're hailing a taxi from outside somewhere like Alexis or Malioboro, don't go with the ones parking outside but walk a few steps to the main street and get a normal one. It's all metered.

ATMs -- Look for ATMs that dispense 100 k bills. CIMB Niaga and HSBC machines, for example, give a solid 3 million in 100 k bills.

Cost - $400/ day is insane for Jakarta even if you're doing the 2-week millionaire thing. That translates to 5. 7 million at current exchange rates. It should be less than half of that if you know your way around and planned things in advance.

King Cross -- I was with a fellow monger a week ago and got the exact same treatment. I could speak in Bahasa fluent and have already been here 5 years. Out of the 5 girls I chose none wanted to go with me and were even making harsh remarks in Bahasa thinking I could not understand what they were saying. Had they just refused me in a polite way without making the remarks it would have been very appreciated. As I was leaving the place I refused to pay the cover charge on the basis that nobody would serve me. After being held for an hour and arguing with the satpams and manager, I was finally allowed to go without paying the ridiculous cover charge of 75 k. Overall, I would avoid this place as there seems to be an Anti-Bule sentiment developing.

Malioboro -- if you're after imports, go there or Classic Bunker instead. There's no reason you should be paying 2. 6 million for a PRC in Alexis if they go for a full million lower in Malioboro. And the girls are rotated between the two venues so they are exactly the same.

BBFS - 500 k is insane to tip for BBFS. When you take a freelancer regardless from where (CJs, BATS, "the street" as you mention) you shouldn't even negotiate a tip but tell her you'll cancel the session and won't pay her a thing if she doesn't give BBBFS. I've never had a chic walk out on me this way. The only places you should be tipping (and a max of 100 k) are the brothels as you've already paid upfront and you can't just walk out on her like with a freelancer.
