Without wishing to contradict your general argument, most chicas who made 3500 for (say) four nights would be delighted. 14, 000 pesos is a month's salary for an educated person with job skills or qualifications. Travel to and from SD is only around 1000 pesos. A day wasted in each direction, but time means nothing to the locals as what else have they got to do.
Thanks for this info as it does offer a different perspective.
...but time means nothing to the locals as what else have they got to do.
I also want to add that as many times as I have been to Sosua I've only recently found out that when chicas come into town they stay in Charamicos (for some reason I was under the impression that they would rent rooms at places like Europa, which I believe was the case some time ago). So it does work in your favor to get phone numbers at night to have daytime options the following day since most chicas are probably just sitting around in Charamicos all day waiting for someone to call them, lol.
I have repeatedly said this is my past postings and thank you for pointing this out again. Prior to almost a year ago chicas could stroll the block from sun up to sun down making money. By nightfall some would be done for the day and others who have made their (self-imposed) monetary quotas for the day could throttle back and do a TLN knowing that they will also more than likely get a free meal come morning. In the new atmosphere in Sosua chicas are racing against the clock since they have to start tricking much later than before, so the pressure is on the make as much money as they can before the sun rises. <= (reads "less than or equal to") 3000-3500RD for TLN verses <=1500-2500RD x 4 gringos a night might seem like a much more attractive option to chicas these days. I really can't see a chica traveling all the way from somewhere like SD and risk being arrested only to make $92 (3500RD) per night for a few days. But then again, something is better than nothing.
On the flip side, a chica does risk losing everything she made that night if arrested verses if she would have just accepted 3500RD for TLN.
You and AH2 make good points. But I'm guessing that these new fast money chics arent getting the WU allotments those "old Sosua" girls were getting providing the GFE fantasy. No one wants to send money to a girl they only banged an hour, then saw someone else banging her later. Factor that in, and things change. Providing TLN, breakfast and the offer of a home cooked meal at her home or a day date, usually left such an impression that some guys rushed to WU once they were in sex prison.
Plus don't forget in the "Old Sosua" there were two shifts. Before, I've had girls I met walking around in Sosua during the day, that would stay with me but wouldn't consider going out at night. Plenty of times I have gone to Classicos and left the day chic in my room. Before. The second shift would be girls who came out only at night from the outter towns, who wouldn't dare walk around Sosua all day tricking. There were girls who worked both shifts, but usually they were more hardcore hustlers.
Another vaguely related question Sir Charles, is if the extranjero puta rate in Sosua / PP is 1500/2500, what is the typical Dominican rate in a town like La Vega, or San Pedro. 500?
Haven't been there since 2007, but I speak fluent Spanish and don't look like a foreigner at all. I was in Santiago for a few days with a Dominican friend paying 350 pesos a go at a brothel, and getting all the free sex I could get every night. Headed up to Puerto Plata and was doing average looking girls in a brothel for locals near Montellano for 400 pesos a go.
On my last visit back in June, you can definitely see and feel the effect of the Global economic downturn. I noticed some restaurants barely had one present customer. Day or night. The bars during the day were basically empty. The insistent "begging" of the peddlers was very annoying. Plus, in general, the attitudes of the chicos were more hardened than my previous trips. A few times I would even notice scowls on some of the faces. I never felt unsafe. However, the total sum of the environment is less than inviting.
I assume the uptick in scams is due to the rising poverty and unemployment. Desperate times call for desperate measures and the basic survival instinct is to do what is necessary to eat. I am not condoning this behavior in the least bit. I'm just trying to wrap some understanding around things.
I think this also has had an effect on the chicas. They now have more mouths to feed. Including the police! Time is money and they simply can't afford to be laid up all day and night for $50. I know some people like to blame the supposed new clientele and hypothesize that this new breed doesn't seek out or value a GFE experience, but I think the chicas are becoming hip to the game. If they can get in / out within a hour and leave $40 richer, I guess they figure they can easily do this 3 times a day and make out better than that $100 GFE. Even if it is that much and probably put in much less work overall.
I am far from a DR expert. A few guys like to paint gloomy and depressing pictures, but I'm not one of them. Although things have changed, in some ways, I noticed improvement. The women I saw out at night looked better than my previous trip. It seems like a bunch of women are now coming from Santo Domingo and Santiago. Two separate women I scooped up, bounced out of town as soon as we were finished and I didn't see a glimpse of them the rest of the weekend.
So, it may be true that the GFE is dying. However, it is not completely done. I had a few opportunities to wife up a nice chica, but I had my boys to entertain. I would like to say that I will chill out this time and seek out a GFE, but who knows? As my trip approaches, I am fired up no matter what rhetoric is tossed around.
I am really concerned about the future and the situation becoming worse. As soon as the thug mentality hits and mongers start getting robbed on a regular, Sosua and other parts of the DR will really see a decline in $$$. It would be best if the police focused on crime and corruption. Leave the fucking putas alone!
You are a good dude man, and I can't wait for your review. I have a Thanksgiving trip planned and paid for, but I really don't think its worth the money when I'm going to Medellin soon. When we see ex pats who live there checking out, its like the bartender saying "last call". My regulars have stopped running their phone scams and resorted to straight up begging. Its to the point where I've told them to not call me anymore. We talk about the Sosua male clients changing but the chicas are changing also. Respectfully speaking I think you are in a time warp like me where we can't believe Sosua has changed. Sosua is a quick lick now because women have to dodge the policia. Damn! I don't know if you missed out on Sosua or Sosua missed out on you? You were so perfect for it. I really think a lot of dudes are going to get put in bad situations, because its basically "open season" on us. Make the best of it, but yearn for that next"Old Sosua" like me, but we will find it.

Car accidents
Reproducing it in full when people are talking about how much fun it is to rent a car is a service. Yah know all those conchos whizzing around? What happens if through no fault your own one of them smashes into you?
You immediately drive away as if nothing happened far away from the scene and park in a crowded area like a supermarket lot where you can walk around until you calm yourself. Then you have to deal with reporting the damage to the rental company, in which case they will either ask you to get the report from Casa del Condutor, or in my case, you find a nice manager who will give you another vehicle for a tip on the side.

Day 5
In the moring my sweeling had went down a lot. Went to the pharmacy and got antibiotics and the dominican bendryl. Then left for sosua. Had a nice ride from sd to sosua. I had no idea that this country is so beautiful. Wasent even a bad ride. Got there in 3 hours with a 1/2 hour stop cause we got a flat and had to get two new tires. Luckily the tire popped about 30 yards away from a tire shop. What luck! It was kinda of cool cause as we were getting the tires changed a cute country girl rode up on her scooter to fix a flat or something. This country girl was really hot. 19 years old. I got her number but I don't think I will call cause she lives in the country and I aint goona get a taxi to drive an hour out to her when I got a whole city of girls to choose from. Got to sosua aka chocolate city (chocolate is my favorite flavor) around 4 pm.
Checked in the hotel, got situated and went walking down the main strip. For the last month I've been waiting to get to sosua from all the stories I've heard. Before I got to sd, I thought sd was going to be boring, I couldn't wait to get to sosua. I was wrong about sd. Well, most of the bars wernt really full except for rumba bar. I got something to eat next door to rumba. I really didn't see much talent there. Most of the girls were un attractive to me. I was kind of dissapointed. After, I decided to get a haircut. Got a real nice haircut for $9 with tip. Good deal since I pay my barber $25 each time. Went to the store and picked some water etc and went back to the hotel. Rested for a minute and went to the rumba bar to watch the radiers game. By this time night had fallen and by half time is when it got a lot better.
When I first got there I sat down and it only took 1 minute before chicas started comming up to me. They come up grabbing your dick, rubbing your back. I was kinda of annoyed at first cause the first few girls were ugly to me. There was this chocolate morena working the bar, her name is raquel. She is smoking hot to me. I was trying to chat with her as much as I could but she was kinda of busy. By the end of the first quarter a fight broke out across the street between two hations. As soon as that happened everyone from all the bars around filled the street to watch including me. It seemed like the police broke it up quick then they let one of the guys go and they started fighting again! Pretty good fight, everyone in the street was clapping and cheering them on including me! LOL. After that I noticed it getting more crowded with a lot of better talent comming out. Sat next to this dominican dude that spoke good english and yes, he was deported from the US! LOL. He told me just wait another 5 min and there will be another fight. Sitting there, he told me all the ugly girls are out in the day, the pretty ones don't come out until night falls. I had a great time chatting with the ladies and some I had to "shoo" away. There are so many pretty girls its unbelivable. But out of all the girls, I really liked the bar tender. She said she has a boyfriend but the dominican guy said it don't matter, they all fucking cheat. After the game I went across the street to classicos.
Man, you can read every post to every thread on here to get an idea of what its like here, you can imagine the best, and it ends up being 10 times better. I wish I was here before the crackdown. I heard it could take you an hour to walk down the street back in the day. Anyways, sat at the bar for a minute and checked the talent. Wow! If the girls wernt comming up to me, they were eye fucking the shit out of me. After my drink and another fight I watched outside I decided to head upstairs. The dominican dude told me there is like 200 girls up there. I was like yeah right. When I got up stairs, I don't know if there was 200 but it was pretty dam close. So I wipe the drool off of my face and start mingling with the ladies. By this time I'm having a great fucking time, I see at least 30 girls I wanted to fuck. But I got this strange feeling in my head. All these girls are prostitutes, and for some reason it got me turned off. I came on this trip to monger, but in sd, I only did one chick at gbp, the rest were all non pros. I don't know why I suddenly got turned off, I think I got too spoiled with getting regular non pros in sd. I can't put my finger on it, but all these prostitutes turned me off. This never happened before, and I don't know why, cause a lot of these girls are gorgus. I think one reason might have been that I wanted that bartender really bad. And the fact that I didn't get her probbaly fucked up my night cause that was like the first time I got rejected in the DR. I stayed flirting with the girls until about 1:30 then I decided to call it a night. First night in the dr I hadn't got laid. Walking back to the hotel, I passed rumba and saw the bartender sitting. By this time rumba was dead. I walked up to her and started chatting again. I asked her in my broken spanish that I thought she was beautiful and I wanted to take her out to eat. I wish I spoke spanish so I could understand what she was telling me. I think she said her day off is Tuesday, the day I'm leaving. Gave her a kiss on the cheek and told her I'm comming back to see her tomarrow. Headed back to the hotel to write this.
I hope I don't get flamed for this report cause I didn't go crazy like everybody said I would. Don't get me wrong, this fucking city is paradise. I haven't seen nothing like this before. I think that maybe the fact I got rejected by the bartender and the fact that there are very few non pros out here turned me off. I guess I got spoiled in sd. When I left for the dr I only had mongering on my mind, I didn't expect it to be so easy to get regular girls off the street. Here its like mongering is the only reason to come to sosua and it is. I'm not saying that you won't have fun is sosua, I just probably wasent in the mood. Maybe my nuts are drained and I need to just take a break. BUT I AM DEFIENTLY GOING OUT TOMARROW AND FUCKING AT LEAST 3 CHICAS TOMARROW. FOR SURE! I think when I get the first nut out the way ill be fine. Even if I don't feel like it, I'm doing it anyways, for you guys! LOL. Stayed tuned for tomarrow's report cause I'm going to have 3 chicas to report back on! If I don't, Jackson can ban me!
P. S. That crazy girl people talked about on this thread, the one with the tattos on her chest like a rosary or something. The crazy one another member had problems with that been working in sosua for years, she approached me and I immediatly reconized her. She has braces now, just on the top row of teeth. After reading those reports, I know to stay clear of her. After she left (I had to shoo her away) the dominican dude I was sitting with told me to stay away from her, he said "she is sick." dosent take a genius to figure out what that meant.

You probably already have an idea about what I am about to say based on what I quoted from you above:
I have read some of your reports in the SD forum and I really don't see how the prostitutes in Classicos are any different than the prostitutes ("non-pros"; a misnomer in this case) you were banging in SD. You had a tout (your taxi driver Fabio) find you chicas who would have sex with you in exchange for money. I don't believe he would have gone out of his way to do this for you if there no monetary gain in it for him, and I do not believe you would have been banging those "non-pros" if there were no monetary gain in it for them.
Called fabio and asked to hook up with him tonight.
Picked me up and I told him I was interested in meeting non pros. Not a problem. We met this first morena with a fat ass, a little too fat. I told him I like big booties but dam! Not big bellies too. I guess its that language barrier, plus she had a huge birthmark on her face that didn't look good. We drove to where she was and when she came out I told fabio I wasent interested and he told her and then we left. He called another one and we met up she was ok, maybe a 7 in the face but a really nice body. I told him 1500 pesos. She said she needed to money so I decided to go since I hadn't had any pussy all day. Had to go to a cabana cause she could not find her I'd to get into the hotel. Ok session at the cabana.
Even in the DR it probably highly unlikely that a non-pro is going to the cabana with a gringo the first night they meet for 1500 pesos. They may have been semi-pros no doubt (chicas that hook part-time) , and i am sure Fabio found you some nice hidden gems, but at the end of the day a prostitute is a prostitute is a prostitute. Eliot Spitzer would agree.

NG has a private parking lot so I had no worries about the car. The scenery is gorgeus too.

One bathroom for the hole floor, two girls were sharing one room, I guess it was their fall down place in case they didn't have a TLN.

He was looking to shake me down. I just took off and left him there.
The other was a carro publico side swiped me, I actually pulled over and started cursing him out. He tried to drive away and I punched out a side window as he took off, I hurt my hand on that one. There were paint scratches down the side of the car, but I had some guy buff it out with compound for 400 pesos.
I've had other issues but I just drive away and when I get the car back to the rental tips do go along way. I also only rent with AMEX, they will cover all the damage to the car, (but not liability if you hit someone).

What is Sosua?
Is it similar to the sexbased towns of Angeles and Pattaya? I can't figure out from reading on the boards if theres Go-go bars there, or its just a freelancer and massage parlour town? And is passions the only place where the girls are dressed in bikinis?
I've just got a week to monger and I know its the best short-term options in DR, but what is it?
I don't need papragraphs, just a quick summing up of the town will do.
Also, are there more than a couple of bars there? Or is it like Patt or AC with literally dozens of takeout options?
Thank you for reading this.
