Arrived in SDQ super late, and I was not able to get into my first choice hotel (Jaragua) until Friday. I'm in the Courtyard Marriot until then.
Won't have much time after work tomorrow, so could someone suggest a good "sure thing" venue to try tomorrow night, possibly close by?
Is Lapsus still open and a viable option?
Most hotels are not chica friendly and many of the casas are being closed. You need to develope a bit of a game plan or you will be disappointed. In SD you need a bit of Spanish to get around. If you do some research you can have a great time. The hotels you have chosen will not let you bring girls in. There are many that do so research and find them. You are not asking the right questions,

Each successive dictator and corrupt regime has produced a new tranche of laws in an attempt to solve problems or win public approval, but old laws are very rarely cleaned up or cleaned off. That means any powerful person who wants to do something, or counter something someone else is doing, can always find a valid law to justify it. And someone more powerful than him can always find a different but equally valid law to block his law.
So as Marc Anthony says, the law does mean something and is usually being correctly applied, but those with most juice benefit from it.
Of course this means the country is a heaven for lawyers. Walk down any street in any large or small town and count how many lawyers offices there are. The numbers are staggering for such a small and poor country. And some of them are barely literate or numerate.

Just got off the phone with a friend in Santo Domingo. I heard the reason that some casas closed was because the owners did not pay tax. It had nothing to do with prostitution. Heard only 4 clubs closed and 8 are still open.

If I saw a post that said,"This is my first time in country X. If you could only spend 2-3 nights here, what would you do, where would you go to engage in the hobby?" and it was country I had gone to, I would gladly take a couple of minutes to provide some quick advice. I have done so on many of my 200+ posts. I would gladly do so for any of you who asked first time questions asked about Singapore, Seoul, Angeles, Medellin, or any Central American capital.
My only concern in Santo Domingo is the recent crack down on casas. Some very popular brothels were shut down just last week. The hotel palacio is my favorite or you could try the hotel Roma 1 and 2 or hotel Mecure. These are all in the colonal zona. It is very safe and has every thing you could want in walking distance, El Conde is a pedestrian mall that you can walk almost all hours and often SWs are there. There is a cafe at one end of El conde called Grands / Pacos. There are working girls there in small numbers most days. You will feel very comfortable there. There are small casinos in SD that also will have women looking to hook up. I would take some time to read some of the distinguished posts could be very valuable to you. Cabs near El conde charge tourist rates. 200 to 300 pesos should get you everywhere. If you can hook up with a good driver could be a big help. Just always do your own negotiation. SWs are 1000 to 2000 pesos. I pay 1500 almost always. Just remember all the local are hustling so do your own thing. Buscemi kiss my ass. You took time to criticize me but no effort to help the guy.

Below is what appeared on the website DR1 earlier in the week. It is doubtful that the authorities would arrest you and publicly charge someone with [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908][CodeWord908][/url] when it is just a tax dispute.

Casas are flatly illegal in Dominican Republic and always have been. Now the bribe takers and makers are being arrested and prosecuted / fired. They are being charged with sex trafficking. There will be no quiet reopening unless the entire business model changes. But what do I know.
Its real simple, if the girl is not handed the money, treated like a contractor, arrived at your location of her own free will and means, you are in violation of of the legal statutes of pandering or sex trafficking. There is no grey in Dominican law concerning this.

Please post the link to these "Reports" claiming that the entire island is being transformed into one big Cruise Ship port. At least the AIs buy some food and employ locals. Cruise ship passengers generally don't even eat in a cruise port and don't drop much money per capita.
I think the business that's most influenced by bad pr for the sex biz is real estate, which in the DR is flooded with cash being laundered by the narco industrial complex. It's also of course harmed by drugs and the local crime they stimulate. A lot of the rising crime rate in the DR is driven by cartels using the DR for transhipment from SA to the US paying local protection in product rather than cash. 10 years ago there wasn't a fraction of the cocaine reaching the streets in the DR as today. It mostly passed through. Now whatever compact that existed to keep drogas out of the barrios even as they passed through the country has broken down. The disorder this creates does more to mess up real estate values than brothels of course but that would focus attention on things better left obscure.

there are just as many narco arrest / deportation as casa closures. dea and several american agencies are chasing down money and drugs as well as their investments. been telling you guys this for a year now. they are getting us dollars to assist under the cover of narco trade and [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908][CodeWord908][/url]. its a kin to how they cleaned up puerto rico in a flash at the late 80's.
