Vaccinated people shouldn't, theoretically, spread virus, but it's not known empirically whether they do or don't. However, in order for you to infect someone it's not enough to "breathe in infected air. " The infection should take hold first. The uncertainty is exactly there: even if you're immune, do you become a carrier and spread the disease? It's not impossible, obviously, but still unlikely. It's not like you breathe it in, and voila, you now infect everyone you get in contact with.

During the meantime, the advice is that the vaxed still need to wear a mask and distance, and countries like the US are anticipating the possibility of the vaxed being asymptomatic spreaders. I suggest you start reading a few medical books about how viruses work. It takes a certain viral load to get infected. Even if you breathe in the virus if your body keeps it from replicating you won't have enough to shed to infect anybody else. Of course if you really want to remain afraid go right ahead the government and the media will oblige you

I respect everybody's opinion and everybody's going to do what's best for themselves. So I'm not telling you what to do and I suggest you reciprocate with the same.

Don't travel to Columbia that's all but most of us are interested in making the trip and as can be seen by many of the posts here people have had a good time. The truth is there is less covid in Columbia than there is in America

I looked for an article on mask wearing the vaccine. When I used google, I was swamped with BS propaganda. I went to duckduckgo and it was like the second hit. Google is getting damned near useless on anything that smacks of controversy.

So I just returned from 7 days trip into Cartagena, fun as everyone assured me.

• for entry by air to Colombia you need to provide 1-PCR COVID-19 results and 2- fill in a Colombian online form 24 hours before arrival, which also needs a passport picture file jpeg or png [URL]https://www.migracioncolombia.gov.co/contingencia-check-mig[/URL].

• for return to USA you need 1- a PCR or Viral test (viral test was half price and results are much faster) and 2- Colombian form again and 3-fill in US attestation form for COVID-19.

• for Chica friendly apartments, I rented through Airbnb and made sure to ask this question and had a local guide I knew from previous travel check with building security to see if they are bribable, I am not sure if it is against forum rules to provide building name, but you can message me for it.

• Old town square / clock tower was very live, lots of picks and they were willing to negotiate on prices, my usual was 100 mil pesos / hour for chicks that I like and 150 for super model looking type (I don't speak Spanish, and my haggling power goes down when my little guy is excited), I found this to be the best way to pick up chicks as you can see the chick's attitude, can recommend a few and definitely blocked a few others after 1st meeting.

• Websites had less selection, bad quality and high prices, I do not recommend them in Cartagena.

• Tinder was slow for girl pickup, had picked some numbers from tinder / Instagram but by the time I got to Cartagena they already left (I definitely regret missing on super sexy twins from Medellin).

• A lot of scene for other fun as well, I dated a local girl, I went to the islands, disco, restaurants etc, definitely sated a lot of cravings for minimal amount of money compared to USA.

• Powder was easy to get, first batch was bad and I barely felt anything other than numbness, 2nd batch was super super powerful, I stayed fully awake and horny for 6 hours after just a very small pinch.

• I couldn't upload photos, stuck at %7 forever.

And there you are telling me what to do? In fairness to you, I think that is based on you wrongly surmising the motive behind my post. I trust you will reconsider that comment?

I too am interested in going to Colombia. The only thing stopping me is that the lockdown in Ireland and the UK is so stringent, that I can only leave home for essential reasons, and foreign travel is very strictly controlled. I would not get past the check-in desk. Reasons for foreign travel are very limited and unless I am travelling on business, returning to my own country, or need to look after a sick relative because nobody else is available, I am stuck. I can assure you that as soon as I've had my jab, and the travel restrictions are lifted, I will be booking my ticket, and I will gladly comply with whatever restrictions that are placed on my return, including the mandatory self-isolation.

My comments are not specific to Colombia and arose because people here were questioning the need for a "clear test" before being allowed to return to the US. What I wrote was why I believe the US thinks that these tests are necessary There is so far, no evidence one way or the other that vaccinated people cannot spread the disease. Xpaartan posted that he thought that there was an overabundance of caution. He may well be right. As far as that goes, NZ eradicated the virus and went weeks without any new infections while introducing strict 14 day quarantines for people entering the country. Then they allowed two Brits to bypass the quarantine on compassionate grounds, as they were visiting a serious ill relative. They brought the virus with them, and since then NZ has not been able to eradicate it again.

FWIW, I am in favour of an overabundance of caution by govs. There is no point in shutting the stable doors after the horse has bolted. I am originally from the UK, which has an 800 year history of hearing about strange plagues etc, originating in the Mediterranean and a couple of years, coming to England. One thing we should have learned from history, is that these "plagues" are always brought in by foreign travel. In spite of this, the UK gov did not enact any precautions at the border controls until July. You would think that being on an island with with border controls would have offered a lot of protection from "foreign travel" as a route of transmission. I looked at all the island nations with a population of 1 mill plus, and then compared the per capita mortality rates, Top with 1586 deaths per mill was the UK. Second is Cyprus with 167. The three most populated island nations on the planet, are Indonesia, Japan and Phils. They had 111,46 and 99 respectively. The UK is a classic case what happens when you throw caution to the wind.

Finally, this forum is about exchanges of ideas, info and stories, and that is all I've ever done. My posts are made in good faith, and are on the basis of, "This is what I've read / heard", or "This is what I believe". I could be wrong but I as far as the possibility that the vaxed may be able to asymptomatically spread CV, it is far too early for any conclusions to be reached and we are unlikely to know for several months one way or the other. I mention this, because you appear to have concluded that I have an agenda to put people off of hobbying. If that were the case, I'd be posting similarly everywhere. Apart from the Cartagena forum, I have made one other CV related post on the Cambodia forum, which was about the entry conditions for Cam. They require that you deposit $2 K in an Cam bank account designated by them, ostensibly to take care of any charges that you may incur related to CV. In that case, my comment was about whether once I made the deposit, I might see the return of that money. That was based on my first visit to Cam when I was extorted at the airport to pay the visa fee twice. Since then, I've always obtained an e-visa.

The problem with that is that I obviously cannot give you a link to a TV prog for verification, so I look on Google for similar items that confirm my original news source. My posts are not "google originals", but confirmed by google.

Update of curfew schedules in Cartagena.

Sunday to Thursday it will start at 12:00 midnight and end at 5:00 in the morning. On Fridays and Saturdays from 2:00 am And will end at 5:00 am.

I recently travelled to Cartagena and returned to the US. Unfortunately, the new USCDC covid testing requirements came into effect a few days before my departure. I met this requirement by visiting Clinica Medihelp in Bocagrande. I took an antigen test for 170.000 pesos. Their website suggests that the results take 3 hours; however, in my case the results were available in less than two hours.

The unit I'm in is actually 3 stories high with two balconies that over look the Main Street and a really cool private rooftop patio that I'm sure the chicas will like. Hopefully the doorman won't give me a hard time with girls coming in with me during the day but we will see! At least I know after 9 pm is free reign. A little weary from the trip here but of course "carpe diem" is in my head, showered up, then headed out to find a good dinner. Street leaches everywhere and as pesty as ever, tried to be as polite as possible but being stern and making it clear that I didn't need their help did the trick (until I turned another corner and there were another two on my heels LOL). Had a great dinner of Red Snapper and shrimp and decided to check out La Dolce Vida. It was pretty early around 8:00 pm but there were at least 40 girls in there and things were only heating up. Maybe one other group of a party of 5 guys in there and then there was me haha. Grabbed a beer and surveyed the land as I was getting constant smiles from Chicas eager to head out with someone.
