Ampicillin-amoxicillin No Good
I did have some ampicillin on hand, and out of desparation I took it ( I had a week-long wait for my appt.). I did a search on the web, and saw a treatment to take 3 grams(!) first day and 500mg every day for a week.
But let me tell you, it may have slowed the progress a bit, but overall IT DIDNT DO SHIT!
The doc said I needed something stronger.
The strains they have in Asia are resistant to "fluoroquinones" (ampicillin-amoxicillin)
Aside from the soreness, the ZITHROMAX (one-time dose of 2 pills) had me almost normal in 24hrs, but note that you can still carry for over a week. I just have some healing to do cuz I suffered for over a week before getting a chance to see the doc. Im not a doctor, but I can tell you first hand. (another public service announcement from OD)

EDSA Entertainment Complex Firehouse phone number?
Does anyone have the phone number of the Firehouse in EDSA Entertainment Complex? I need to contact a girl there.
Thanks
Sunday Night in Makati (part 1 of 4 reports)
About 10:30pm I walked around Glorietta and Greenbelt to see what was available. Tired, I was not looking for action, but surveying options for Monday. There were very few ladies around.
Two ladies, walking together, approached me near Landmark (Glorietta). Early 30s, rating about 3 and 4, take both for pp3000. Sorry, ladies, no power. Took Shiela's phone number; she can send ladies from her boarding house to my room, she said. Noted for later.
Another lady on her own near Shangri-La, late 20s, also about 4, suggested pp2000. She demonstrated strong hands and I was tempted just for a back rub, but took her number instead.
Nothing going on in the vicinity of Greenbelt 3 and Cafe Havana. No eye contact. Ladies that were there seemed to be with friends, not working girls. One lady made eye contact but with a frown. I said "hello" tentatively, felt like she was glowering, moved on.
Shiela said that police had been patrolling the area and sending WGs away, because they are not supposed to be in this part of town. That's really doing me a disservice! I wonder if they are paid to do that by establishments like those on P Burgos. On the other hand I expect that if I sat at a coffee shop or Havana for long enough, one would find me.
More about Shiela in part 3 ([post]482715[/post]

Monday Night - EDSA Complex (part 2 of 4 reports)
[b]Summary:[/b] EDSA is a very good option for Makati visitors, less expensive than P Burgos area, more reliable / better quality than SW in Glorietta/Greenbelt, but not cheaper. At 8:30pm there were lots of girls to choose from. pp1000 for bar fine, plus the lady's fee, probably asking pp2000 up, and settling for less. During evening rush hour it could take up to an hour to get from Glorietta to EDSA, but by 8:30pm my taxi took only 20 minutes. Use a metered taxi (pp62+ depending on traffic), or negotiate a fare under pp100. Taxi drivers should know where "Ed-sah Complex" is, ask first. Location: Pasay ("Pah-say") City, Corner of EDSA Blvd and Roxas ("roh-hahs") Blvd, diagonally across from Heritage Hotel. EDSA Blvd is a major street across Manila including Makati.
I like mongering on foot when possible. I see more when exploring that way, too. But Makati is pedestrian-hostile, breathing the air isn't good, and greater Manila options are out of the question without a car or taxi.
I had not been to EDSA Complex before, despite several visits to Makati, because others have reported one hour in traffic during rush hour to get there. But by 8:30pm, this time, it was about 20 minutes from the hotel. The doorman "bargained" a taxi fare of pp150. The meter fare back to the hotel was pp62 (in light traffic), so I overpaid.
I was let out just past the actual EDSA Complex, and being new here, I was not sure what I was looking for. I walked into a place with girls and couches; it was empty, and decided that was a good reason to keep looking around. At another like the first I asked about takeout prices and was informed that the girls entertained in-house only. So these are Karaokes next to EDSA Complex, but not what I was looking for.
The EDSA Complex itself has one entrance-way to a dozen or so bars clustered around a courtyard. The complex and all bars are owned by the same company, so the barfine (pp1000) and drinks (pp80 for water for you, pp197 for ladydrink) are standard, at least in the ones I went to. Most of the clubs are the same style: a stage with scantily-clad girls "dancing." There are a few variations.
Compared to go-go bars in Bangkok's Sukumvit district, there is no pole, they are always facing forward, and they barely move, so it's hard to get a good look at their shape. You can't easily catch their eye to make contact, perhaps because there are lights in their faces, so you can't just call them over like in Bangkok.
I learned that EDSA pays women pp150 per evening to dance, and they give the women a commission of pp50 for lady drinks (which cost you pp197 each). Since there is not a monthly salary where missing days require the barfine to be repaid (as in Bangkok, see [post]480212[/post]), the lady can arrange to see you any time. You might even avoid the barfine by going to EDSA to make contacts, then make appointments for future evenings.
You can also find clones of Cialis and Viagra there. There's a booth just inside, and when I went to the toilet, the attendant offered me 4x100mg of a Viagra clone for pp1000. That's a fair price for inside a club - cheaper on the street. I didn't try these. My experience has been with other clone brands, and they have worked well, but some have seemed like they had less active ingredient than stated and the pills were noticeably smaller.
I was hustled into Casino, which didn't have gambling that I could see, aside from taking a chance with a woman. I was given a seat at the bar to watch the girls standing on the stage, barely moving. An older woman started massaging my back, and it was both good and needed. I asked the chap next to me about tips, and he said protocol was pp100 for this massage, so I let the lady go on for about 20 minutes and paid her.
Meanwhile other girls came up to talk to me. At ratings 5-6 at best, I understood why they were here and not on the stage. One was persistent, I was not interested, and I asked to pay my bill. She immediately left, but I did not (massage not over). Another took her place a few minutes later.
In the next place I was seated farther from the stage. Again, no eye contact was possible. The mama approached me and offered to send one to talk to me. There are no badges, but it worked anyway.
The lady I chose was happy to get off stage and sit with me awhile, and spoke reasonably good English. She's very pretty and young, about an 8. She cuddled a bit but she did not attempt to stimulate interest the way that Bangkok girls often do. I asked if she kissed customers and didn't get a "yes". In the end I decided that she was a starfish (nice to look at, but it just lies there) and thanked her for her time, maybe I'll see you later.
At the next place I chose a lady. I had been talking to a woman who said made me think she was the mamasan, but I don't think she was, and she wanted a tip for her involvement (as does everyone). The asking price was pp2000 for the lady (pp1000 for the bar). I countered with pp1500 and a tip if you give me good service, accepted.
Outside the hotel there are hustlers for cabs. One guy had pestered me ever since I arrived, wanted to take me to a different club, got involved when I needed to find an ATM, etc. Now he wanted me to go in the cab he recommended. But while I was trying to get rid of him, my lady flagged down a passing cab who used the meter, and off we went, pp62 to my hotel near Glorietta Mall. The hustler was pissed but I did not stay to comfort him.
In short the service was excellent and I paid her the asking price. The lady, Erica, is from the northern provinces, is poor, and has a child to support. She could not give me her phone number because her phone was at a pawn shop. She did not want to stay because she needed to call her mother immediately to tell her she now had money to buy food for the child. She did not want to tell me these things but it came out as I asked questions as to why she would not stay for the night.
But I gave her my local SMS number so we could hook up again. I learned one more important reason why she did not want to spend the night, see part 4 ([post]482717[/post]).
Tuesday Night - Shiela's Dial-a-Lady (part 3 of 4 reports)
Tuesday I was out with colleagues until 11pm and too tired to shop, so I phoned Shiela (who I met on the street Sunday, see [post]482707[/post]). She said a girl would be pp3000 for all night and she does not take a commission (hinting that she would like a voluntary one). I said that was too much, how about pp2000 including commission. OK, she said.
She showed up at my hotel at midnight with three ladies in tow, ranging 5-6. One was smiling more than the others. Which of you can give massage? Smiley put her hand right up and I chose her.
Shiela asked pp2000 up front. And what about tip for me? I said we agreed on pp2000 including your commission. No, no, she said, that's only for lady. I have no more cash with me. Ok, you send pp500 for me with girl in morning. Too tired to argue more so I agreed.
Back in the room, I learn that Jeny only got pp1000 from Shiela, who skimmed pp1000 for herself. Jeny isn't happy, she had been promised pp2000. Obviously Shiela lied to me AND her. I assure Jeny we will go to ATM later. I feel burned, but burning Jeny is would threaten to ruin the experience, so I cut my losses.
Jeny was a bit chubby but has a very firm body, and was cute when she smiled. She gave a fair body massage, better than most Filipina WGs. A student who does this work to help make ends meet, she did not seem real professional, thus not mechanical. She is the first girl I've had in a long time who did not trim or shave her bush. But Jeny did not want to stay all night the way I had agreed with Shiela.
I'm pissed about Shiela's lying agreement on the price negotiation, but if I paid the girl directly, Shiela would still insist on her cut. It's always better to deal directly with the girl rather than a middleman (or woman), but I would not have found Jeny otherwise. I hesitate to recommend Shiela, but will reply to PMs from senior members or others who have previously posted useful information (not questions), if you ask.
Wednesday Night - Erica redux and a lesson learned (part 4 of 4 reports)
This is part 4 of a series of 4. Part 1 starts here: [post]482707[/post]
I met Erica at EDSA on Monday (see [post]482711[/post]) and wanted another evening with her. She was happy to arrange that with me to avoid a bar fine, except on Monday she didn't have her phone with her and didn't know the number.
The phone had been at a pawn shop, and since I paid her Monday, she got it back and SMS'ed me on Tuesday (that pp150 SMART SIM has been really handy). We made a plan for Wednesday night. I treated her like a non-pro date - starting with dinner at Greenbelt 2 (a restaurant with local food, I think called Masse or Masa something close, ground floor), conversation, walking around - because I wanted GFE. She was pleased, and reciprocated.
We had a nice time in bed, including a massage for me afterwards, and it was time to sleep.
In reply to a previous posting from me, a well-known Senior Member on Philippines threads rightly scolded me for leaving myself vulnerable - passport, money, wallet not in the safe when a girl was in the room. He also told me there was no way in hell I would follow his advice anyway, and he was right about that too. (I do not mention his name because he deleted the posting). So with Erica I learned an important lesson about protecting myself. Jim, if you are reading this, you were right, but this time I learned.
As I was going to sleep, Erica was restless, and I was vaguely aware that she had left the bed. At the same time I was beginning to get sick from the dinner and needed to go to the toilet. She was in the bathroom, I thought SMSing one of her friends, but she had a frightened look on her face, like I had caught her red-handed. It wasn't her phone in her hand, it was my [u]wallet[/u] she was holding! She handed it to me, cowering.
This really blew my mind. Though my passport, extra cash, and tickets were safely locked away, I had left my wallet in my pants. My computer was out because I had been playing music. I put valuables in safe, computer away (up high), then sat down to have a talk with her.
Her explanation was interesting. I am only her second overnight customer because the first one led to a traumatic experience. The first guy had told her he had no girlfriend or wife. While he was in the shower, a knock came at the door and she (unwisely) answered it. In stormed a very angry Filipina who started hitting her. This lady claimed that she was the man's girlfriend, and to prove the point she opened the man's wallet and showed a picture of her with the man.
I had told her before that I had no wife or GF in Philippines (true). She said she was looking in my wallet to see if I was lying, because she was afraid of the same thing happening again. Why? Earlier in the evening when we were both looking at SMS messages she had sent me, she saw an entry for "Dang," which she said is a common name for Filipinas. I explained that Dang is a WG from Thailand, not a girlfriend, and has never been to PI.
I tend to believe her story. If she had meant to rob me, she would have been out the door rather than looking at the wallet. She might have been after my real name and address or credit card numbers, but she had no pen and paper to copy them. Still, this was a major wake-up call to me; I learned the easy way. I won't make this mistake again.
I told her some men would beat up a girl who did this (I think that would be wrong). Another reaction would be to have her leave. I decided to have her stay since my valuables were properly secured.
The rest of the night and the morning was fine, except that she kept apologizing, and the mild food poisoning running through me kinda put me out of the mood for morning sex.
[b]Postscript:[/b] Emails from Erica indicated that she was still afraid I was angry. I assured her I was past that. Now the email from her is asking for money to visit home. I'm getting tired of being a walking ATM.
A Sum Up For Every City In Metro-manila?
Thanks a lot for your report Steve Naive. As I will be there before the end of the year, that was very useful to read your trip.
That forum is great and people very often give me, at least for me, very good informations, I mean for any destinations I asked.
I will be in Manila nearly 2 months. I've never been to the Philippines. I plan to stay 1 month in Makati, to rent a furnished apartment, then I don't know.
As I don't really out a lot at night time, that would be great if someone could plan my timetable during the day time or just give me some advice, where to go either to pick up a girl for a few hours or to get a massage. That would be great to have the precise location and the price.
Of course I already read many reports on this forum about Makati or Manila. The result is that I am a bit lost. I know that Burgos street is interesting or LA cafe in Malate and some others places to get a massage.
Could someone make me a sum up? On this board, that would be great, so everybody could enjoy it. A sum up for every city in Metro-Manila, that would be great. Yes there is the website [url]www.manilatonight[/url], but they quite often don't write in English.
As I will have time, that would be great to try the possibilities of the Great Manila, I mean in others suburbs too as Pasay or Quezon or Alagang or some others.
So I think that would make it clearer and much easier for everybody, except perhaps for the experts, but there is always something new to learn, I am sure, even for the best of us.
Thanks in advance guys
