There are a few options:
1. Buy a local prepaid phone for about US$ 60.00. You will get a new unit and something like $30 on credit for calls.
2. Rent a local phone, for as low as US$5.00 per day, and you have to pay for the minutes.
3. Buy back home an UNLOCKED Quad band phone (like the Motorola Rzr V3) it will operate in any bandwidth in the world and with any SIMM card.

Fenix and Capri are the same place, as for directions, if youre not very familiar with the panamenian landmarks its gonna be hard giving directions, just ask any cab driver to take you to the capri, also called "la fenix". Dont let them drop you right inside, else I think the local might charge you extra because the drivers earn a referal bonus from every customer dropped

i flew in on the evening flight from miami arriving pty at 7:30pm. my first mistake was not purchasing a tourist card ($5) just before entering the immigration line. there is a desk with no sign at the beginning of the line which all tourist must stop at, pay the $5, and fill-out a card. no big deal, the immigration line goes really fast.

upon exiting the airport, i was actually surprised the taxi drivers didn't pounce on me. i had to poke around a bit to find a taxi. they insisted $27.40, i countered with $20, then $25, but they wouldn't budget. seems like a crazy price for about a 10 mile trip in panama.

arrived at the courtyard marriott at 8:30pm. seems like a new hotel. very nice rooms, great high-speed internet (free), and right next to a nice mall. although, it appears to be a bit away from the action.

i first hit elite at around 10:00pm. $20 cover includes 3 drinks. if you want a us style strip club with beautiful colombians, this is the place. there were only 2 other guys there and about 20 women. i found the women a little too aggressive. they sit down next to you uninvited and won't leave for some time. on the bright side, they give you a free test drive (let you touch, kiss, etc), but if it goes on for too long, they will ask you to buy them a drink (i believe $15). one thing i noticed with all the women, when they're kissing, they seem to all try to make eye contact with other customers. i didn't know whether the message was "rescue me, i don't want to be with this guy" or "don't you wish you could be this guy i'm kissing right now". either way, i found it disturbing.

11:00pm, off to a casino to check-out the indenpendents and try to find a poker room. i tried fiesta casino near el panama hotel. no poker going on there and i couldn't tell the independents from the regular girls. it was very crowded and loud, so disappointed, i left.

Just catching up. This report is from last Wednesday.

Arrived in Panama City for two nights before heading off to meet my novia on San Andres. Then a couple of nights more back in Panama City.

I had a definite plan in mind for this trip which was to check out a couple of places I had been before and get an update. I also wanted to meet a girl in the first couple of nights that I could get back together with on my return. A lot to accomplish but generally a success.

Before I found her, I was really wondering if this trip was a good idea (with all the $300-$400 price quotes). My suggestion to budget minded mongers in Panama, have fun watching, chatting, and touching at the strip clubs, then consider the street girls or golden times (which I have yet to try for myself) to finish the night.

Called my girl from Club Miami to see if we are still going to get together. She anxiously agrees and is at my hotel by 9:30. We grab some dinner and decided to hit a few clubs. Back in November she took me to visit Le Palace. It is a great way to scope out a club. No pressure and lots of information.

Cristal Moon is away from most of the other clubs.in the central area. Not sure exactly what this area is called. It is very upscale. They had $25 all you can drink for me. No deals for the ladies. We walk into a lounge that is a basically empty. But through that is the main club. Large stage area on the left with multiple dance areas. Usually 4 girls going at once. When we arrived there was a girl doing a dance in large bathtub with bubbles near the bar. Pretty interesting. We locate her friend and she joins us. Large number of girls all 7 and above. Didn’t see any real stunners but all doable. They wear common outfits while in the crowd and change for dancing. Girls drinks are probably $10. I ran a tab and they were both drinking Aguardiente, a lot.

The girls dance on stage and then come around to sit and do private dances or just drink. There are no rooms on site sex. Girls are available for take out for 1 hour for $190 total cost. I would imagine you could arrange your own meetings for later, but I would certainly not take house offer. First it’s too much money, secondly this place is located away from most of the hotels so the time would be very rushed.

I met the owner, Victor. He is a Greek guy who lived in Las Vegas. I complimented him on the look of the club and he says that he wanted to create a Vegas style club in Panama. Good for him. Bad for the consumer. I am not sure how the Panama economy can support something like this in the long term. Although Elite and Le Palace are surviving.

I had a real good time here, but that is because I was with my girl and her friend. But it is off my list as a place I would go solo.

As far as my own night went, we left and went to a local bar where some of her other Panamanian friends were hanging out. A good Latin band and some fun dancing. There are also a couple of discos there but neither of us were into it. Back to the hotel, hit the casino for a little bit and then up to my room for some farewell sex. Left her sleeping in bed as I packed and left for my flight.
