Yes I know what you mean! Was on DIA the other night and suddenly I'm chatting with over eight women, typing quite feverishly. After a few minutes, I get a message saying that I have to enter a code that is given to me each time I send a message. Maybe this is an override system to prevent spam. Has anybody experienced this?

Never, are you sure it wasn't a spam message? I have never had any type of issue like that while using DIA. Be careful of a STD on your computer:D

I had to put the code in because I kept sending the same message "hi, would you like to chat, blah blah..."
It is just to help stop people from spamming all the members.

I was banned in DIA after a person reported me. Here is the story
DIA id reizl29, 28, asian, davao sent me some pics and wanted me to give her a cam show. Sounded very ladyboy to me and I refused. 10 min later I got a nasty email. The important part of the trick was to have me confirm my dia id in the chat in yahoo. THe irony is that I had refused to give a show.
If you have time, block her and report her to get her removed. I m not at all sure this is a woman. I asked Filipino friends about the id name. It is not Filipino. Maybe Indian?

I was using both my laptop and desktop computer in these chats. Now I'm trying to copy the desktop archive to a memory stick and transfer everything to the laptop. Want to sanitize the desktop and hit the road with the laptop. I've tried everything I can think of but can find no simple way to copy. Has anyone actually done this and can you tell me how to do it? Well I think thats a good idea especially if you are working with numerous contacts.
Very easy to save and copy to a text file as follows:
1. Open message archive window, then select the conversation.
2. Click the save icon in the toolbar. The 'save conversation history' window opens.
3. Locate the folder you want to save the selected conversation, type the name of the file and click the save button.

Xdentx,
I think the suggestion from Mattrick makes sense. Besides being easily transportable, you can continue chatting while reviewing past chat sessions in the text file. If you have the archive window open, you can't do any chatting without closing it first.
Another suggestion, is to use the web version of YM. It appears to be a little more limited than the downloaded version. But it does save an archive of chat sessions that can be opened and reviewed from any computer with web access.
As for the comment from PLC, there is nothing anal retentive about it. After chatting with more than a few cuties, it's easy to get confused, or forget what you have said to any one of them in the past. Using the archive is a good way to keep track of things in order to keep from screwing up the work put in to having a successful meeting with one of these LBFM's.

Thanks[/QUOTE]Not really sure if you want to add the archived files from the desktop to the archive of the laptop or just temporarily copy them there until you clear out your desktop.
But here is another way to transfer the YM archives (I have Windows XP):
1) Open the Program Files folder (usually C:\Program Files)
2) Open the Yahoo! folder
3) Open the Messenger folder
4) Open the Profiles folder
5) Open your YM ID folder (like Xdentx or something)
6) Open the Archives folder
7) Open the Messages folder
8) Note the folder named for each of your YM buddies
Here is the complete path:
C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles\YourYahooID\Archive\Messages\NameOfYourYahooBuddy
9) Each buddy folder will contain archived, date-coded messages.
10) The messages are encrypted, but the files can be copied to another machine and placed in the corresponding YM folder. Then they can be read in YM like any other stored messages.
NOTE: Do NOT copy the folders to another PC with archive folders of the same name or your existing messages will be overwritten. Same for the individual chat files. Since the files are named by their chat dates, you may not want to simply dump them to the folder on another machine if you already have chat files of the same name.
I would suggest copying the YM buddy folders to a thumb drive and renaming them. Thus, if you have an archived YM buddy folder called Sexy_pinay on both the Desktop and Laptop, rename the copied folder to Sexy_pinay-from_desktop or something like that. Then you can copy the folder to your laptop archive area, both Sexy_Pinay and Sexy_pinay-from_desktop folders will show up in the archived messages window.
Now, having gone through all that, here is a a quick and easy. If your individual chat files on your laptop do not have the same name as the ones on your laptop, just dump them to the corresponding laptop folder. All the messages will show up in the archives for their respective chat dates.
That's just my 2 cents, unless someone has a better way.
DISCLAIMER
I am not responsible for any screw-ups, so I'd suggest you also make a back-up copy of your laptop archives, just in case you do overwrite your files.

I have a couple hundred names on my different yahoo msg. I wish I would have kept some notes on the different ones. I must have been attracted to them at one time, or I would not have them on my msg list.
I have started using yahoo msg Internet version for most of my chats. Now if a girl pops ups on my screen to chat, I just click the history button, and I can tell instantly if she is someone I want to chat with. Also most of the girls have a small picture in there yahoo msg profile that will help you remember them.
The only time I use the Download version of msg is when I want to see them on cam. After I confirm on cam that they are the female/cute I change back to the web version.
