Thus I was taken inside. The one that escorted me in took the Viagra into the office. I was told to wait outside and did so for about 20 minutes. While I was waiting several other gringos were brought in for a search but all of them were allowed to leave after showing their ID's and answering questions about where they were from and what their occupation was. When I was called into the office the asked for my ID and where I was from and what I did. I told them I was a truck driver and was from San Antonio. They then launched into I needed a perscription for the Viagra. I told them I had on but that I had purchased this one form a pharmacy in Mexico and not perscription was needed to do that. They spoke only a little english and I speak only a little spanish. Although I was certain I would get out with a fine (bribe) they did not seem to be in any hurry and I confess to getting worried. Finally they said my fine would be $50. 00 and by that time I had been in there about 45 minutes so I paid and left. I did chek out NLBT and ended up at Danash with a favorite. Tried to find a manager to complain about the police to but they did not appear to want to listen. Maybe it was my limited spanish. Not a pleasant experience and as a result this will be my last trip to NLBT unless it is in the van. Plus I spent late afternoon and Friday night at the Montea and found two really good ladies. Niether of them would go to the Fiesta citing problemas with the good old police. Ended up in the hotel above Montera which was ok. However would have liked to have taken the last one to the hotel for toda la noche. I will go back to downtown. There were also some no police that seemed to be inspectors standing outside both Montera and Heradura. Had white shirts on that said NL Inspector.

Anyone know what they do?

Online reservations are $51 night. Does that seem about right?

How is NLBT or would I be better off trying Heradura and Motera? Is the fiesta girl friendly?

There is a Fiesta Inn and a Motor Hotel Fiesta in Nuevo Laredo. The Motor Hotel being very close to the Herradura and Intimo. ( The Montera burn down, and may re-open in 2 to 4 weeks).
The Fiesta Inn is quite a ways from centro, the Motor Hotel Fiesta is in centro. No problems bringing girls to, or having them meet you at, the Motor Hotel Fiesta.

Nuevo Laredo

Day 1 & 2

Visited the local pubs and boys town.

I loved having my own car there to get around with.

There is an vacant lot opposite the entrance to boys town.

I parked there and walked in. No problems (did it 4 times).

I made the mistake of having a lot of cash in my wallet the first time I walked in.

I was searched by the local cop at the gate. There were 3 of them.

Raise arms and he patted me down.

And when he got a look at the full wallet he took a very long time looking through the wallet.

Suddenly the 2nd cop joined in the search.

Again raise arms and pat down.

Then I was told to turn around. F that.

I was keeping my eyes on my wallet.

I was told several times to turn around. No intendo I replied (don't understand).

Finally I got the wallet back, the other times I took about 100 pesos in the wallet.

And the rest in my shoes. I should have known better.

I am in 2 minds about downtown and boys town.

I like the downtown more as you get to spend more time with the girls in a normal setting.

More GFE for lack of a better term.

I also like being able to share a few beers with the local guys from this board.

But then when you want to get it sorted out quick boys town door girls are great.

Boys town has the strip clubs.

Pricing is about the same for a girl downtown and a boys town door girl. 300 pesos full house excl anal.

The advantage with downtown is that its not as rushed.

But then again door girls are available 24/7 and downtown its not that available during the day.

But having my own vehicle there made a big difference, easy to alternate between the two.

And no taxi fees / hassel.

The locals drive through boys town in their cars and select girls from the car window, then park and go into the girls room / club.

My reason for parking outside is to avoid the search at the front gate and the possible shake down.

The only advise I have here is keep the car free of valuables and things you can't afford to loose (passport)

I would think that the vacant lot in front of the boys town entrance would be safe as its just in front of the cops at the boys town gate, but they don't have a clean line of site to the lot, so the possibility of theft could exist. For myself I think its safe enough.

Laredo Morning times, tonight 7/21/2010:
"A gun battle broke out in Nuevo Laredo on Wednesday evening, causing several blockades throughout the city.
This incident comes two days after a grenade was detonated in a soccer complex in the west side of the Sister City, killing one person and injuring 16."

Shots were fired in and around Plaza Hidalgo, near the old presidential palace. I was drinking with friends tonight in the Herradura at about 10:45pm, we were ushered out the back door as they were locking the front doors.
I beat feet home, and can report ZERO traffic on Guerrero. I saw or heard nothing unusual other than that.

Thursday, narcos placed a banner on the foot bridge near Soriana on Reforma, advising the city of a 5 pm curfew, warning anyone in their way would be killed. Several businesses closed early Thursday, and the downtown bars were lacking customers. Streets were dead last night. But I find no evidence of violence. I heard several conflicting rumors, but can find no confirmation of any particular one.

I am sure that our wonderful media here in the United States of Obama will have plenty to add. They will probably claim the narcos have tanks and machine guns aimed at the bridge with orders to kill all gringos.

So has the excitement continued or have things gone back to normal in downtown NL? What are things like this weekend? Which bar attracts the most girls now that the Montera is gone? Are they making progress on reconstruction of the Montera. Unless the violence is a real threat I plan to go down this coming week. Will really appareciate more information.

I was downtown both Friday and Saturday nights.
Both the Intimo and the Herradura are busy early evening, the Herradura gets and stays busier later and stays fairly packed till late night.

As far as the violence, rumors are flying, but since Wednesday it has been calm, but that can change in a minute.

... on the currently circulating story of the Zetas taking over 2 farms in Laredo?

Or is this just another one of those "viral political email" type stories that gets life on their own?

Gentlemen,

Those of you in the know; please help me understand the scene here. I see more information going back and forth on bars in the downtown area, particularly, Herradura and Intimo...more so now that BT bars. What's the deal...is it just coincidence among personal choice with those who post here or is there really something to it. Reason I ask is that me and my buddy who are long time patrons of BT have stopped going because it's just gotten to be to risky and on the verge of dangerous. So, we're looking for options or alternatives to BT...and here I see a lot of comments on the down town scene. Help me understand what these clubs are like; are all the girls who visit these estsablishments "working", or are some just regular chicks just hanging out looking for more normal realationships. I don't quite get the picture. In other words if I walk into one of these bars am I to assume that all the girls there players for cash exchange ("prostis")? Or do I need to be careful in that there is a mix or women and play a guessing game. The beauty of NLBT is that when you're there you know exactly what you are there for and what the girls are there for, so there is no trepidation in approching the women with any consequences of getting yourself in trouble for asking the wrong questions, like, "how much do you charge", or, "lets go to the room and have some fun". I would appreciate some insight.
