Hi,
I am planning my first trip to Fortaleza at the beginning of March and would like to ask some tips to make the most of it. I am interested in both the non-pro and pro scenes. I have read in previous reports about the Cafe del Mar-Forrò Mambo-Zipi Bar "triangle" to meet pros. Is this the only place to meet them, or there are more and maybe better ones? What about the non-pros, are there shopping centres or other recommended places to meet them? I have also read different opinions about the beauty of the girls in Fortaleza, what is the truth in your opinion?
For the accomodation, I found this website on the web: http://www.fortalezaapartments.net: does anyone of you know if it is any good? Many thanks!
I just got back today from Fortaleza. Long time Rio traveller.
First time to Fortaleza.
Will be posting a report soon.
i have been here since december 15th. until the 26th the place was almost deserted. then the brazilian masses arrived and the place was packed until the first week of january. now it is simply full.
thanks to that lesbian (they say so) lady major many things have changed recently to the worst.
europa bar in the triangle is closed. rumor is that police found two **** girls there. it seems that the portero responsible for checking their id’s fucked up management and the business.
zippie bar is asking a 10 reais entrance fee lately and has increased drink prices too resulting in much fewer monger than before.
the two barracas on praia iracema have been demolished by the lady major as well as the bebelux restaurant there.
mamma was trying to sell her barraca at beira mar opposite mc donald for the last two years. she finally managed to do so and sold it to two italian guys who changed its name to mamma italia and tried to expand it most probably without permission. it was taken down too. no more mamma’s barraca for the girls to hang out.
the only time that i show pirata to be full was on monday after xmass. all other mondays only half full. not like recent years when you couldn’t breath because the crowds.
armagen still going strong on wednesdays so does crocobeach on thursdays.
prices have gone up considerably too. last year i was paying 1600 reais for my apartment at iate plaza this year 2500. last year reais was almost 3 to a euro this year less than 2,5 making it an increase of almost 85%. last year the price of a small car was 1500/month this year 1850.
i was at the triangle yesterday at midnight. the guys were twice as many as the girls and still the place looked deserted in comparison to the years before. it seems that too many girls have gone to natal for better opportunities.
i went to belissima an evening and the very few good looking ones i had sampled the last year. the place was taken by very noisy brazilians at 21:00 so after an hour i called the night of and left empty handed.
my overall impression is that fortaleza is definitely into the decline. i've been coming here for the last seven years but imho it was never that bad before. i believe that it is going to be worst next year and more costly the years to come due to the world cup and the rio olympics.
bye bye fortaleza for me.
its not rio!
just returned from my first trip to fortaleza. i was there for 8 nights. i have been to rio many times and all of my opinions here are obviously only based on my short stay in a city that i was, and still am, unfamiliar with.
day 1- i arrived on a friday and checked into my apartment. the first night i went to the forro mambo area around 11 to check things out. things were just getting started so i hung out in the heineken bar and watched things start to develop. around 12:30 i went into café del mar. this was january 1st and the place was packed. the problem is that it was packed with men. 10 to 1 ratio of men to women. so out of the women i would bang it was like 30 men to every 1 doable chick. crazy!
- the hot women would not even talk to me. i am 40, 5'8 155lbs and very very fit. i dress well, i have all of my hair and i am a pretty normal looking guy. i am white and can easily pass as italian (which i am but i grew up in the us), or i could pass as french or german or dutch. pretty normal looking. many of the girls were very young and there were several girls obviously ****.
then went into forro mambo-same thing
i was probably the only man who did not speak italian within 4 blocks.?
i finally found someone doable and we went back to my place.
day2.next night same thing different girl.
day 3 same thing different girl
day 4- went to zipi bar earlier and the ratio seemed to be improving but only slightly. then went to forro mambo and found karla. we went back to my place and had sex for 48 hours straight. gave her 300 reais.
i was now sick of my apartment so i checked into a hotel. ponta mar. it did not seem girl friendly but when i checked in they asked if i was alone and i said that my giorlfriend would be joingin me later. they asked for her name so i gave the name of my favorite rio chick. lets say her name is
thais dos santos pacheco. more later.
day 5 i was tired so stayed in.
day 6 went to forro mambo and found a girl and we went to a motel.
day 7- 2 nights left. found a real cutie in forro mambo 19 yo, tight no kids so cute. she was like lets go back to your hotel. i told her i don't think that will work but she said of course it will. so we tried.
obviously before we left the club is asked to see her id and her name was
thais dos santos moraes.
close enough.?
they let her in and we spent the next 2 days together. gave her 250r. very happy.
so i do not know if ponta mar hotel is girl friendly but they let her in and she was very clearly and 18 or 19 yo gdp. and she hung with me at the hotel for 2 days.
went to praia futuro a few days and at barraca boa vida there are many gdp's there but it is really tough in high season to do anything because the place is so packed mostly with families.
the city is quite dirty and smells. the streets behind the beach are deserted for the most part. more of the wealth in frotaleza seems to be far from the beach near the iquatemi mall. much nicer around there. my apartment was 2 blocks from the beach and just to walk to the beach i felt like i was walking through an abandoned city. overall the italians totally rule the mongering scene. when i am in rio i can walk up to any gdp and she is nice will talk to me and if i want her no problem. in fortaleza more work was required for me. the top shelf women during the first few nights would barely look at me. so many 20 something year old italian guys.
the scene started to change as the new years crowds left and the ratio started getting better and the attitudes of the hot chicks improved as well but a bad time to go for sure.
i am still undecided as to whether i will return.

this is really disappointing. i love going to fortaleza becuase the prices where better, the girls looked better, and not as many guys as rio.
i was there is oct, and i noticed that zippi but glass on the front, not sure why. zippi now charing to get in? damm. this was a great "free" scout location becuase all the girls left there and went to mamboos.
i have never had too much luck in amrazen becuase it seem there are alot of regualar girls in there. not sure whose working; and yes i went on wendesday.
are you saying the two bars that are across from mcdonalds is closed? i knew about the italian place. what i was told was they had live music in violation of some orders.
when to bellisima a couple of times, but after they tried to rip me off by putting empty beer can on our table, i never went back. there is another small casa call jennifer's (i think). they have a court yard and all the room are on the frist floor, and the girls were beautiful.

Let me correct my self. Zipie bar put some curtain on the door and they want minimum 10 reais consumption. Not entrance fee.
I am talking of the two barracas that were on Praia Iracema. One infront of the Pelicanos restaurant and the other towards Zipie. That one was taken by an Italian last year. He spent a lot of money to upgrade it put trees and made it look like a garden, he even changed the tiles. He made it real nice but they took it down too.
I used to sit there and watch the talent coming from Beira Mar going to Zipie to start their working cycle. A couple of years ago I used to sit in Subitos. A small bar and restaurant next to the tourist police offices in between Zipie and the triangle. Lady Major closed him too by not allowing him to have tables outside. It was the perfect place to watch all the talent passing by and make your selection for the night early enough.
Opposite Mc Donald they took down the barraca of that curvy mamma. She took the money and left and the Italian guys finally bought fresh air.
The two barracas next to her, Satehut and the one next, are still open.
Maybe I am wrong but I see far too many gay tourist lately. Maybe that is what lady Major wants. Out with the mongers in with the gays. We'll see.
Let me correct my self. Zipie bar put some curtain on the door and they want minimum 10 reais consumption. El Greco, InBrazilSoon,
Thank you for much appreciated reports on Fortaleza. After reading your reports it would seem, Fortaleza is on the same death spiral as Rio. Basically the 'Lady' Prefeita and Prefeitura are cleaning house and this can ONLY be bad for news for those of us who love to play in Fortaleza.
The ratio of guys to gals doesn't sound very appealing either. Not too mention snobbish type attitudes. Yikes! I hope that is only occurs briefly around the Christmas/New Year holidays and isn't spreading throughout the rest of the Year.
I guess the Italians will ultimately have an advantage over Americans, with perhaps many of the young, cute and hot girls looking to travel freely (with out visa requirements) to Europe, to make better money, possibly marry, or simply spend time with their Italian boyfriends. Yep! This is definitely their mongering 'backyard'. Americas will need to figure out other ways to compete, on this playground.
Once again, thanks for the updates. Please kept the updates on Fortaleza coming, as I and many other on this thread, are keeping a keen eye on political climate on mongering in Fortaleza arena.
Ciao
Spidy

You are not seeing things. When I was there in Oct. they have this HUGH lesbian convention. They practtically took of the Praia Mansa Hotel I was staying at. And they were not the femme types; stricly bull-daggers.
I know the bar you talking about next to state hut. I was there one night, and the next night I went, it was closed; and for the rest of the 7 days, nada.
My friends is telling me they want to close "most" of those bars in Baira Marr. Dam shame if you ask me, becuase the "family" area is futher down towards the volley ball courts and such, and those bars don't hurt the image of Fortaleza.
I also notice the lack of talent in the general area around the McDonalds. Still see the same ole familair faces. Still get my manicure from the indian lady, lilli. Althouth she don't know how to it for s*it, but I like practicing my protueges with her.
The trip before, I had the unforntunale luck of staying in the Terreico Atlanitco (sp). All the "ladies" that hang in that neigborhood are travsvisties. I had to walk over them with my dates each night and it was unconfortable!
Mamboos still rocks for me becuase I have good luck in there.

Without visa requierements????? I don't think you know european immigration laws.

For a trip to Europe...I believe all a Brazilian needs is a passport.
For a trip to Europe...I believe all a Brazilian needs is a passport.
Brazil is somehow cooperating with the Schengen countries and this is why, in fact, Brazilians can travel to Schengen countries for 3 months just with their passport.
Had a former table dancer in Fortaleza 2 years ago who told me how easy it had been for her to work in Italy. (By the way: she was the most erotic experience in my life; name: Marcia, small, blond, surgery-boobs)
Cheers from Shanghai,
Shamuc
D.Wilson,
Please do tell us more about this Jennifer's casa (location, prices, etc...).
InBrazilSoon, thanks for a great report and a much needed update on Fortaleza.
El Greco, I'm surprised to hear that you're having a hard time in Armazem as I had there the best time of all my stay in Fortaleza about a year and a half ago. Partied all night, made out with a few girls then at the end of the night, took out a nice and wild girl , for free TLN. Afterwards, I gave her 50 reais as a tip. But damn if Armazem too is going down on Wednesdays...
For those who are interested, here's a great technic I've been using all over Brasil with great success. Before my trips to Brasil, I'd get on Orkut and other social networking sites and make friends with either girls or guys and ask them questions about their cities (of course, on cities I'm planning to visit). Then, once I get there, I meet with them. If a girl, in 90% of cases, I'd hit her within 2 days. If a guy, even better as he'll introduce me to some nice non pros and then the fun begins. Or go to parties/clubs with the guys. Best approach to crack the non pro night club scene in Brasil as guys can be your best allies if you make friend with them.
Of course, for that, portuguese is required. Even if one can get by, is respectable and shows geniune interest in the culture/country and shows that they're making an effort in the country/lingo, that'll be hugely appreciated by all: girls, guys, people you deal with on a daily basis.
Just something to consider for you guys to make up for the lame mongering climate now in Brasil. This is a proven and fool proof way to have a blast in Brasil, at least IMHO.
Passport only required for Europe.
That probably explains the number of Brazilian girls working in London then.
