When you arrive at the Longyang station from the airport, at the bottom of the escalator turn left to go to the legitimate taxi queue. I've never had a problem with a driver there refusing a ride.
If you turn right at the bottom of the escalator you will end up outside where the fake or gypsy taxis line up. They want 300 for a ride to the Bund (should be about 50 or 60).
For cheapskates like me the #2 bus from the airport to Jingan from Pudong can't be beat at 22 rmb. Only 45 minutes to the Nanjing road terminal, very close to the Temple. On the main subject of ISG, finding women to have sex with, a true gem has returned to Shanghai at a Changshou Rd Spa.

The distance between Longyang station (metro or Maglev, which are next to each other) to Bodi is 2. 6 miles: 35 min on foot or 8-9 min driving .
If you are a foreigner, getting off the Maglev, and struggling with 2 suitcases, you are a ripe target for rip off by the taxi drivers. The Maglev fare is 50 to 100 rmb one way from Pudong Airport, and 5 rmb if you take line 2 and get off at the Longyang metro station, so they think you got bills in your pocket if you take the Maglev.
If you are looking for a nice convenient place to stay, you can look at either Sofitel (you get off at the Nanjing Road East Station on line 2 and it is only a couple of blocks from the metro station in the famous and busy pedestrian mall. Nice hotel, nice breakfast, about 720-900 rmb a night on random check on C-trip. Just do not engage with any tout outside) or Paramount, Equatorial or Hilton further down in JingAn with metro line 2). You go and settle in the hotel first and then go out unencumbered to play.
If one thinks setting straight the difference between a 15 minutes walk and 40-49 minute walk is trivial argument, one is entitled to his opinion, but that is part of helping to navigate. You do not assume it is a close walk and end up on foot alongside the elevated highway with little pedestrian traffic or much else, for close to an hour.
Given the reckless driving of most taxi drivers, potential rip off and often poor attitude, I do not take taxi in Shanghai as a rule. I take the metro and perhaps connect further by city bus (the buses are actually not bad, and they have station information both by voice and on a flashing board, in Chinese and English.). I will definitely walk if it is only 15 -20 minutes away.

Only to tell them to take a hotel on Nanjing East Road (the tourists hub) at the one place in Shanghai where the concentration of scams is the highest:
- Fake art galeries.
- Tea ceremony scams.
- Girls approaching you for language and cultural exchange in a scamming bar.
- Lady massage & KTV touts at night.
- Fake taxis with inflated prices on the junction between East / West Nanjing.
MAGLEV, just like the airport has a legit line for taxis where I never had any problems taking one, and another spot where scammers wait for lost tourists. Its true everywhere in China and not just for foreigners but for non local chinese too. Just stay away from them when they ask you if you want to go for a set price.
Moreover if you don't trust taxis use APP. You can use uber in your home language and book a "People Republic of Uber" / Uber POP local driver. They can't scam you since you pay through uber and the route is traced by the app. If you get scammed a simple complaint to uber will get the route examined and the fee reimbursed to you. Most of the time its cheaper than taxis, up to 50 % cheaper on short itineraries. There are uber drivers everywhere on the map... more than taxis and even taxis start using it these days.
I hope this has run its course, or should the name of this website change?
BTW, bodi is easy enough to find with any map app (unlike many saunas) - if someone can't figure out that it's not in the middle of anything. Well, they probably shouldn't be using this site anyway (there is an age restriction after all.).

I mentioned the hotel in Nanjing Road East because it is a two blocks walk from the metro station of line 2 , and is a direct shoot from the airport. I said it is a nice hotel to stay in, which it is and you can take line 2, line 10,or walk over to People Square station, where is a major transfer hub. Ypu can pretty much get to anywhere in the city from that area with public transportation and not taxi.
I specifically cautioned against engaging with any touts and scammers in the area. You do not play there. You are just going to stay in a hotel that is nice, secure and easy to get to and around, and not expensive. From that base you can go to play pretty much in all corners of the city. I stayed there before, and I never got taken because I did RRTF ( just like you did not get rip off near Maglev when others did)

But the last time I tried this, the back area where the legit cab stand used to be was all construction. I speak Chinese and I've been to Shanghai 20 times so I am not a tourist. Regardless, at that time, I was f'd and faced a a long March on a hot day dragging my luggage.
If things remain as they did at that time, a non-chinese speaking guy with a 4 hour layover trying to get to Bodi for a quicky is going to be f'd based on the advice I had given on here years ago.
If the legit cab stand has been made operational again, then all the better. But on my last attempt, it was a hole in the ground. THAT is the rational of telling people not to take the Maglev to get to Bodi, since you asked.

I traveled to Mexico frequently between 2002 and 2007. Many of my posts are still on this board you can look at them yourself. On the Mexico board it was quite common to use the trip report style. I also found those reports the most valuable as guys detailed what they did right and what they did wrong. Yes, they were long but people like me who could not go frequently could live vicariously through other adventures.
In 2008 I changed jobs and traveled to Brazil in 2009 and back to Mexico in 2012. I also posted about those trips on this board.
I changed jobs again recently and had to take this trip to China.
This was my fifth trip to China over the last 20 years. During my second trip one of my Chinese colleagues introduced me to a 28 year old girl from Beijing who was interested in foreigners. We had more sex than rabbits do, and I figured it was a once in a lifetime adventure. Although I developed a healthy taste for Chinese pussy.
On my subsequent trips, I had no idea how to get girls or where to go. I did not do any research ahead of time, as these where short business trips. If I was living in China I would not likely do many guided tours as I would learn to speak some Chinese and find my own way around.
Note of the three nights I reported about I only used SNG on the last night. The first two night I went out on my own.
As for SNG I have shared with them my thoughts about their site. I have given them numerous suggestions. A few they have taken, most have been ignored, and a few they did the opposite of what I suggested. I am ok with all those outcomes, as it is their site and they can do whatever they want. It makes no difference to me.
I don't have any trips planned back to China, but will look to enjoy reading about everyone else's fun until I have additional work there.
