They also have a service, wherein they sell hard liquor and will also give door delivery. The contact numbers and the various brands available are in the website including the contact details. In case it's been removed recently on account and of a program which they are planning shortly, just contact them on the contact number given. I have found their prices to be lower than what is available in the various liquor stores. Getting door delivery will save you on transport cost, apart from being assured of original liquor. I have recently found quite a few instances of having got fake liquor, especially when I bought black label, jack Daniel and Bacardi light. But JCC sells authentic liquor.

Just last night I was wondering around PI, and stumbled upon the alcohol section in the foodhall.

The Gin's, Vodkas and Tequilas were all in the 800 k range.

Ha ha ha.[/QUOTE]Assuming it is still there (it was a few months ago), there is a liquor store in the basement of the Intercontinental Hotel that has pretty good prices at least for Jakarta. As you go down the escalator or steps, there is a Japanese restaurant (quite good) to the right, but you need to go left instead and go to the end of the hall at which point you will see the liquor store.

Downside is it is not in North Jakarta, more like central, so you would have to travel a bit.

If you are flying in to CGK you can bring plenty wrapped up in your checked luggage.

I get my top ups (gordons gin for my gin pahits) from the Indian retailers in Pasar Baru (which seems north by todays standards) and in walking distance of the over-rated dump called Classic Hotel. There is one place that oddly functions as a pharmacy and liquor store. When I commented to the store manager I had never seen whisky and the morning-after-pill being sold together, he replied "sorry not for you sir, we are regulated, how about whisky and cialis for you".

Not sure if I am willing to risk bringing more than that, you risk a fine, duties, or confiscation.

My first time to Jakarta and stayed 5 days / 4 nights at the Grand Mecure Harmoni. I work in Taiwan so it was a 5 5 HR flight. With limited time and not much patience I didn't check out the FL scene at Blok M, CJs / BATS, clubs, ect.

Classic (2nd floor) Day 1.

I arrived around 6:30 pm and 'on cue' a mamasan quickly guided me to a table that was towards the back, in front of the cashier so it was hard to get a good look at all the girls but there seemed to be about 35 girls on the left side of the entrance and only about 5 on the left side. Scanning the bored faces of the girls from afar, I was not disappointed and felt at least 3 that I could see were cute. But within 1 min of sitting down the mamasan had brought over a girl. Typical for Classic from what I read on the forum.

I told her I wanted my drink first and relax since I just got here. The bags are x-rayed or otherwise looked at before they go onto the baggage carrousel, and if something is spotted, the bag gets a chalk mark. (or maybe just random marking, who knows?) The customs guys open bags with chalk marks. So, if you are carrying, keep a napkin from the plane, look carefully at your bag (sometimes the mark is on the zipper) and erase the chalk before you go to the check-out x-ray. TTG is a specialist at packing box wine in checked luggage.

Indonesians definitely have a sense of humor with places called Illigals and Marliboro. The latter has some large billboards outside the building using the famous Marlboro Man with some Marliboro slogans. Pretty funny.

I decided to go straight to the lounge in my plain clothes and the mamasan had me sit on that 'main level' at a table furthest from the girls. I've flown in and out of Jakarta (internationally) 6 times in the last 2 months, and every single time ALL bags got checked. I remember that before it was only randomly selected checked luggage (indeed with the chalk marks), but it seems they have changed that. They even wanted to scan all the hand luggage as well, which I don't remember from the last time I left / re-entered back in February.

I did arrive in Jakarta a few weeks ago and don't recall them sending my checked luggage through that machine, but I suppose they might have and I just don't remember.
