When I said 'got checked' I meant a piece of checked luggage was opened and inspected. I could have been more clear!

The check in bags are randomly scanned. I just came through a few weeks ago and they did not scan my check in bag, but they did of course scan my carry on luggage as always.

That being said, I normally buy duty free alcohol in Singapore on my way to Jakarta. Most times I just get one bottle, but many times I have bought 2 bottles and carried them in clear view with the clear plastic duty free bag. They have never said anything to me about bringing 2 even though the limit is supposedly 1. I have friends who would pack 5 bottles of wine in their check in bag every time they came into the country. It's a gamble because those bags could be searched, but if they catch you with them, I believe you would have to pay a tax. I've never packed more than 2 bottles of alcohol in my check in bag, but I've not had a problem. My check in bags are scanned on occasion. I guess maybe there is a chalk mark, but many times when they scan those, they are scanning everyone's check in bag at that time. Most times when they ask me to scan my check in bag, they don't even look at it before they ask me to throw it in the scanner. There was only one time they ever searched my bag after scanning and that was when I was bringing 4 big cannisters of protein powder in my bag. I explained to them that's just for me and I use it to stay fit. They didn't charge me any tax for that and let me pass.

With the new supposed clamp down on alcohol, I'm not sure if they are more strict or not.

I do still have a few pills with me in Europe, but am hesitant to bring them since I want to avoid any issues regarding having pills on me when entering the country (I know it is unlikely, but I am highly risk averse regarding customs / immigration).

I have read through some old messages on buying mainly vitamin V and would be grateful if a fellow member with some knowledge could confirm my understanding and maybe provide an update on prices. :

- Pills are generally available in pharmacies without prescription, but not exactly cheap.

- particularly in Kota (Gaja Mada, Lokasari) there are lots of street vendors selling generica. While most likely not original impression is that the pills do actually contain Sidenafil etc.

As an approximation it costs around $6 or $7 US per pill, although depending on your needs you may be able to get away with splitting the pills (I believe they are 100 MG). At Century Drugstore, one of the two majors, you can get a member's card for the asking, which will give you a 5 percent discount.

I have found that if you ask for generic Viagra they may say they don't have it. But if you ask for Sildenafil, they do. This may reflect a translation problem or that there is, in fact, a brand name, Rozgra, they stick on the generic stuff. So, you could ask for Rozgra if Sildenafil doesn't work.

I myself avoid drugs from street vendors because rightly or wrongly I believe there are increased risks in purchasing outside of respectable drug stores but that, of course, is a personal decision.

My last night in Jakarta and I debated going back to Classic for another 2 shot night or heading over to Alexis to see how a more expensive place would play out on a Saturday night. I ended up running behind and it was close to 10 pm by the time I arrived as the taxi driver didn't really understand Alexis Hotel so we ended up towards the back of the building complex which you don't want to enter from even though it shows Alexis hotel because cars going that way have to take a parking ticket (5 k). The driver was not too happy about that and I wasn't either. I ended up giving him 4 k. The front entrance has a gate but no parking ticket needed for taxis.

Alexis does look high class compared to Maliboro. I got off on the 7th floor and again decided to forgo changing into the robe and went straight into the lounge which had 10 or so customers and tons of girls. 25-30 locals, 12 Viet, 5 PRC, 9 Thai, 6 eastern Europe.

On average, the girls here were younger and the imports were definitely more attractive than Maliboro. The locals were slightly younger on average but only 2-3 really caught my eye and none that were truly amazing. Cost is 1. 4 mil for locals and 2. 4 mil for imports. 30 mins with the girl in the spa and 1 HR in the room. Perhaps because all the mamasans work for Alexis and not competing, the vibe there was very relaxed with no pressure. I ended up sitting and just enjoying the view and watching the countless line-ups all the girls had to do.

I couldn't get a good look at the PRCs from where I was sitting but when they did a line-up across the room, I was tempted by a couple but wanted to get a better look. I took a restroom break and when I came back there was only 1 PRC. Damn. But perhaps that would save me some money. But the local talent was not amazing. There was one that was well built-- tall, young, some meat on her and big natural boobs. But she was either shy or didn't really like me because when we caught each other's eye she only had a half smile. (however over the course of the night I could see she did not smile at anyone).

I didn't have any food for about 6 hrs so I decided to order some chicken / rice and wait to see if perhaps some better looking girls or the PRC chicks I saw earlier would come back. After dinner I headed back into the main lounge and only 2 PRC girls with one being much more attractive, but when someone at my table got a line-up and I had a chance to see her walk she her face was great but her body was not as good as I expected so I decided that I would focus on a local. I will have 2-3 stopovers in Jakarta each for 2-3 days, so most likely I will "go crazy" when in Jakarta and particularly Cialis / similar stuff may be the best choice to cover both day and night time action.

But I vaguely remember (so vaguely I'm not positive my recollection is correct) getting it a few years ago at a drug store in generic form for around the same price as generic Viagra. I also am not certain when I have recently asked unsuccessfully for it whether I said "generic Cialis" (in which case I may have been up against the same situation I described earlier when asking for "generic Viagra") or whether I asked for tadalafil, although I tend to think I did ask for tadalafil and may have only been given the option of purchasing very expensive Cialis.

I have no idea about Vardenafil as I haven't tried it or attempted to purchase it.

As long as we are on the subject, if you live in the United States and do a google search for Cialis coupon, Lilly, the manufacturer, offers a coupon good for 30 free 5 MG tablets. The coupon can be used once per year, but requires a prescription from a doctor to get filled, which can then be done at any pharmacy. Depending on whether you are a 10 MG or 20 MG Cialis user, this translates into either 15 or 7 1/2 regular sized Cialis pills.

And also, responding to another thing you mentioned in your earlier post on the subject, I would be virtually certain that if you entered Indonesia with a prescription for Cialis or Viagra there would be no problem going through customs. OTOH, although I too tend to be fairly careful about things, I have never thought twice about bringing in any of these particular drugs when entering Indonesia, even without a prescription. This reflects that you don't need a prescription to buy them in Indonesia, so why would you need one to enter the country with them? Well, you never know, but that is how I have looked at it.

I have just returned from Indonesia, I was paying 100,000 idr for 2 cialis.

If you are prescribed them at home, you won't have any problems with customs, just bring them in the original packaging and have a letter from your doctor stating that they are prescribed for personal use (this goes for all medication.

In preparation for my trip to Jakarta in December, I have been on Badoo. I have offered 3 young women 500,000 IDR plus tip for 3 hours in my hotel room. They have refused and quoted me at least 1 million for ST. I tried countering with 750,000 plus tip, but no luck. I have told them that I've never paid that much for ST. Have you guys experienced this? Any advice, or should I just suck it up and fork out the 1 million?
