When in Rome. When you try to tip in non-tipping cultures, it actually causes significant social anxiety and embarrassment for the recipient, just as we feel when we don't know how much is appropriate to tip in places where tipping is customary.

Not to worry-- you can add many girls on WeChat in China and they will have no problem asking you constantly to send them "hongbao" for no reason at all.

Checked out a new sauna posted to shhhy. Was told by one of the agents that it's just opened. Called Hao Hua (I think), it's located near the scooter repair shops on Xinshi Rd and adjacent to Ling Feng Apartments. Approx 20 min from Renmin Guangchang area. I'm pretty sure multiple agents posted about this one, as two gave me this same intersection. Interestingly, they had different specials. Not sure about English, everything was in Chinese.

Facilities definitely feel new, but it's your typical labyrinth layout and a lineup room with lights and mirrors everywhere. You have tall booths to sit in while you select a girl, which provide a modicum of privacy. Girl selection is about 20-30 at any given time, ranging in looks from 5-8. I did not really see any that were super stunners, maybe one or two 9. Of course, many girls were busy already when I arrived at 8:30 pm.

I selected a girl that just started there from Guangdong who was at the M level (goes M 998, Q 1298, X 1598, and S 2298), she was very tiny, with a GND look. Cute to me, and had the small spinner body I like-- very small boobs though, A-minus, but perky nips.

Pretty much everyone who commented earlier set an impression that most saunas in China have a no tipping policy, I would say Sacrosa was the only one I went to that may have that. Every place else I'd been to ( I only do saunas, and I go 2 or 3 times a week for more than 18 months now, so I think I have a large sample size) they allow tipping, and the girls I gave the extra money to appreciated the gesture. They were not confused or anxious. I do not tip automatically and was never pushed. The managements and the girls understood that as a token of appreciation. They did not act as if I was doing anything foreign, corrupting or disruptive.

Was in Shanghai the past week. Arriving Friday, leaving the following Friday with an opportunity to play the first weekend & Thursday night. First Friday, started at Judy's around 11 PM, caught the end of the Euro match & surveyed the field. Saw little that interested me. Mostly older girls, along with a contingent of black girls from Kenya. Although the band was lively, nothing of interest for takeout- so left for Manhatten around 12. The place was mobbed. Lots of girls (more variety, including younger crowd) - but also lots of guys. There are 2 possibilities in the price discrepancy.

1. You may be getting the foreigner's specials if the higher prices were given when you showed your face there.

2. Deceptive advertising. I ran into those a fair bit in the saunas advertising in those Chinese mongering sites. They advertised great prices, or "same price for every girl". When I contacted them (in translated Chinese) on qq before I went there, I was quoted something higher. When I asked why, they said the specials or promos were over. "All girls at the same price" often meant only one or two: the daily specials. They were almost never available when you got there: they claimed the daily specials were with some other clients. I often wondered if there was actually even one girl at the daily special price.

Whenever I was told what was in the ads was not what was available, I passed on those places.

Can anyone suggest a nice Spa / Sauna accessible to the Airport (doesn't have to be close, but perhaps along the subway line? Where I can rest, get some food, and a massage? (massage extras not required, but would be nice).

In Guangzhou I usually frequent "Shui Hui" where you can rest in a very nice lounge with TV, movies, and food, use shower, hotub, steam, and get massage for around 250 RMB for as long as you like. Is there anything similar in Shanghai you can recommend?

Any other activities you can suggest for my layover, is appreciated. Thank you!

I'm in contact with a sauna currently running a special - 798 for any girl. They normally have 3 levels, starting at 1080.

Checked them out for the first time yesterday. Decent enough experience. Clearly fairly new, not the greatest selection. But good enough. The room we had was quite large and very little noise from outside. One really stupid thing they did is put a mirror on one wall of wet area (no, that's not the stupid part) that only goes far enough down to see part of the girl when she's on you, not even enough to see where contact is being made.

Will I go back, possibly while they are running the special, doubtful once it's over. But the place itself is decent enough.

It's right on yan'an lu, not too far from hongmeilu.
