Taunus Sparkasse is near Oase. They have an ok rate. I have no idea why so many americans that I meet in FKK's or in asia keeps bringing so much cash with them. Are you onto some whitewashing? Or does the US banks charge large amounts from taking out money from ATM's? If so, I'd get an account in a european bank if I was you. As there usually are no fees for that here.

I've run into married European mongers who withdraw 300 EUR (but immediately stash away 100 EUR for their mongering fund). Do this a once a month for 5-6 months and they have a decent night of FKK debauchery.

Because we are married and we stuff away money so that we can hobby. In America and Canada and Brazil this works great. In Mexico you don't even have to exchange the USD for local currency. If I go to Europe exchanging USD for Euros is a problem. Withdrawing large amounts of cash is a problem. When I am in Europe on business large cash withdraws from an ATM look suspicious. I need about 300 Euro a day. I can take a small advance on my personal and business credit card but not enough to cover my habit. So I need a place to buy Euro that is not a rip off. Thanks in advance.

Does spouse control all finances? Can't you claim the cash withdrawal in Europe is to pay for hotel?

My friend and I are going on tours and dining out for Tapas and hitting street bars etc. We will need cash for these I can say. But I can envision going through a minimum of 150Euros for hobby day in Spain and for the days in Germany in the FKKS I would say a minimum of 170 Euros to 350 Euros.
3 days in Spain = 450 Euros
3 days Germany = 900 Euros.
This is a lot of cash advances.

I only use cash advance on my credit card when I travel. It even gives me bonuses, and zero extra charge. The bet by the bank is that I won't cover it within 45 days.
But using atm's like euronet etc will cost you your mom... and most if not all the fkk's with atm's in the club has these fradulent atm's...

I have no problems with euronet ATMs. Doesn't cost anything extra than any other ATMs when using Schwab or Capital One debit cards.

Assuming you are American and live near a Capital One branch, convince spouse to open joint account at Capital One. You then open one covertly as well but don't link it with the joint account and do electronic statements/notices. As a result, her ever finding out the debit card from the covert account may not raise suspicion as she would think it is for the joint account. Load the covert account up with your hidden cash stash only when you go on trip and withdraw as soon as possible when in Europe so you minimize interest reported to IRS. If under $10 in interest, bank does not report to IRS.

Bank Norwegian (same as the airline) has the best one as you also aquire these bonus points from it. Bank Santander is another one, but I avoid using that as the interest rate can go stellar if you forget to pay back one month. Then there is one or two other ones where I live as well. But no need to have too many... but at least one of them also have this other bonus point program. A bit complicated though, so I just stick to that airline bank. I guess it helps fund their airplanes too... as an intermediate from the higher interest rate on bonds etc...
Euronet, Cashzone etc etc doesn't charge direct fees. But they give you a worse excange rate. Much worse sometimes.

Euronet may offer to convert the transaction to your home currency and if you accept, yes it's most likely a very bad conversion rate. However, the ATM has always provided me with the option of accepting Euronet's rate or VISA / Mastercard's rate. I always pick the later.

I know at least bank Santander has us branches. Not sure if bank norwegian has that yet. But they might.
Maybe you are right about euronet. I just allways avoid them. But you might want to check if it still is more expensive than using a local banks atm..

The moment you take $100 out, you already owe $110.

There is an annual fee of $99 for the Preferred version but I spend enough to get more than that back in points. No other fees. Also I pay back on the same day since I have a Chase bank account so no interest. My debit card daily limit is $500 vs my credit card have $3500 daily limit. There is no daily transfer limit between the bank to my credit card. Also I don't want to increase my debit card daily limit for security reasons.
