So my idea is set out to shoot a short and set out a casting call. I do not know how that works but hopefully we can figure that out. This does a few things. It is a fun experience in itself. We get to meet the potential candidates and may be one or two would be of the type who may want to do other things even beyond this casting call.

I know this is not a new technique and I have seen this as the theme of a short movie itself but if one is semi series about shooting a short, then who knows, it may work out. I wonder how much these girls charge for acting in a 8 minute short. If it is 10000 rupees, then it may be worth it to try with a partnership of 2 or 3 of us.

If the setting up works out well. We can do wonders I guess. I had some experience in advt shooting. Girls are available from 5000. They need fame. Some even offered free (the camera man told this). Camera and other things are available for rent. All we need is some good team for shooting setup.

Have a loaded friend who wanted to become a movie producer for the same purpose. However he was not able to convince his dad to get into production. At that point of time it was easy to get registered in the producers council. But later when he inquired, it seems that there were lot more steps and money involved. So the idea never took off.

Short films seem to be a great idea as there is no regulatory body which I am aware off. But not sure how much of a response we will get from a city like Chennai for casting calls.

But do count me in! Awesome idea!
