So since she said yes to your Cascades room soon after you met. And you would be feeling
the sleeping pills, I don't understand why you didn't just say you were going to your room
and ask her to come with?
I guess my main intent was not to get her to my room. I just countered with my room at the Cascades to feel her out. I didn't think her offer of going to her place was a good idea. And besides I was just having fun hanging with her in the bar. So as soon as she transformed into regular BG begging for a fichia it seemed like a good time to end it. She was fun for awhile and for this night my goal was to make a new friend for future hookups. I already had a 8 am Meeting set up with someone else, which I ended up being a couple hours late for.
I know a few girls in Tijuana. One HK girl I know very well and have slept at her place and been an uncle to her children. She lives in a barrio no doubt but it comes with a decent garage, 2 bedrooms, living room with an air conditioner, refrigerator, LCD TV. Her kids go to school and have good stuff such as backpacks and decent clothes. I assume she is doing quite OK for herself. So my point here is though she lives in a barrio the house keeps improving every few months as she pumps her earnings into giving her kids a better life. She probably started out in a barrio with a small place and kept building whenever she could afford it.
Also I don't think Tijuana is as cheap as you think. Lesser expensive than San Diego it may be at par with rural America such as Ohio or Montana. For example a pizza dinner at Dominos for two costs around $18-20 in Tijuana which is not that much lesser than the same in the US.
Yes food is expensive but housing is very cheap. I don't think it can be compared to Rural America, I'm sure you'll need a lot more money to live in any US state, home rent or buy, taxes, medical insurance, car payment, car insurance, gas, utilities, education etc. Pizza is not cheap in Tijuana stay with the local food tacos etc. I also paid like $15 for Little Caesars. The girls know pizza and Italian food is expensive in Tijuana but you're the one paying and they go for it.

The only insurance she pays is some guy comes to the house once a month to pick up a life insurance payment of around $30. The life insurance thing is ridicules, I think it only pays enough for funeral expenses. Much better plans are available in California.
Last week we went for carryout pizza for the family at Pizza Amor the total came to $43 and some change. WTF for a minute I thought maybe she dates the guy at the counter and they are scaming the gringo.

Rentals in Tijuana
One of the guys rent a 2-bedroom apartment, with private secured parking near hotel Pueblo Amigo, for $400 a month. He has a roommate, so $200 each.
That area looks nice, clean, upscale and secured. It's more convenient to go back and forth across the border to San Diego if you have to do work. Not a bad deal.

If ones want American food, then be prepared to pay a premium because there isn't much competition. That being said, some foods widely abundant in the states are going to be difficult to obtain. Basic foods like milk, etc. I often see Mexicans return to Mexico carrying Milk, presumeably for their kids. Its sad.

Like Jackie wrote, they must be things that simply aren't available in Tijuana?

My MBGF wanted me to buy her Lasagna, pizza and wine and she asked me to bring her shoes and makeup from Macys and on top of that I have to pay her too.
They do scam the Gringo every chance they get you need to watch your wallet very closely.

She had almost a full cart of stuff, and it cost me less than 100 bucks. I do see many locals transporting blankets from the US to Tijuana; maybe those are more expensive.

She even has a special place she wants me to buy it! She says the pizza in TJ sucks! A Mexican Pizza snob! I also bake her Lasagna and cool it down and give it to her to heat up for dinner! She has it made (a good deal for her) with me!

On my way back to the border last night, Mexican Army soldiers were conducting car searches in addition to the extremely high police presence who were often patroling in squad size. My taxi driver said it was due to the recent rise in killings. He said 4-5 per day because of drugs. So you guys stay safe and remain in crowded areas. Don't go wander off exploring Tijuana, espcially in the Zona.

Policias patrols
There were 2 pick up trucks from Policias Municipale patrolling La Zona Norte Saturday night, but the legion of moto and foot-patrol cops were curiously absent. La Zona was quiet with lots of foot traffic. There were no patrol cars racing around with screaming sirens like in past weeks. The cops were probably sent to La Mesa to chase cartel guys.
I drove back at midnight. The SENTRI lane was long, stretching back all the way along Kino Padre. Had to wait half hour to pass. Meanwhile the bros crossing on foot had no waiting line; crossing in 5 minutes.
La Zona was relaxed, fun and sexy Saturday. Hopefully there will be no AK-47 shootings in bars so we can continue to come down and enjoy the companies of pretty Tijuana girls.

Just curious.

Safe Walking Map
I pulled this map from the usasexguide. It is from 2005, but still seems pretty close to accurate. Perhaps it is slightly optimistic.
