Fortunately this island has multiple layers of protection against foreign intruders. Namely. The expensive flights. The atrocious road infrastructure. Try ride 30 hours in a Taxi brousse. Or worse. Camion Brousse. The whole host of tropical diseases namely Malaria Typhoid Cholera the famous Malagasy shits. Plus all known VDs. The Language Barrier. Only 29% actually speaks proper french. The rest Malagasy. The climate including several vicious tropical cyclones. Plus the Visa regime. After 90 days it's good bye from paradise. No legal extension. I m personally not convinced that the island will be overrun by gulf arabs. Nosy Be might be a different matter. They try since years to bring holiday charters. That most likely will not work. The infrastructure is just too bad. There's no need for me to put people off. I just described the harsh reality. Let all the smart guys come and find out for themselves. The word suffering will take on a new meaning. LOL.

I've been in Madagascar now for a year and extended my visa att the chief of police every three months. The stamp looks legit and all but now I wonder if I will have a problem when leaving the country? What do you think will happen? Paying a huge fine when leaving and being barred to enter the country again? I hope not since I love it here.

If you walk nowadays at 22:00 along Rue Independence in Tana downtown, there hundreds of girls in all shapes will offer their services. You will not know the value of their services beforehand. But you can observe a limited demand. As vaza you may even be the only one searching. That gives you room to set your price and stick to it.
On this particular place I did observe guys cruising in their cars and offering girls 40 k. I did learn later from a girl that one of them gets just a BJ in the car whereas the other guy drives around. As a vaza walking and asking the streetwalkers to come to your hotel, the rate asked will be 100 k. A friend of mine did not negotiate and just took the girl back to the hotel.
I myself was offering 40 k as I overheard by the locals, and the young spinner girl was initially hesitant but finally agreed to come along. In the room it was clarified that it is the price for a ST. Once she dropped her dress and an awesome body was underneath, I offered 60 k for an all night stay and she happy obliged. The service during the night was over initial expectation and with another 10 k tip she happily left after breakfast next morning.
My friend, who had accepted 100 k initially was disappointed to see what was under her dress when undressing and let her go after one shot of mediocre fucking.
As a buyer you shall be firm in paying what you feel deserves the price your girl is asking for services rendered after you got the services. A quick agreement before any action to pay 100 or even 200 k will not allow you to add on. This bad habit takes place more and more in Tana and NosyBe. Stick as starting fee to 40 k. Many will accept.
You mean to say 40 K, which is a 4 days work salary for a waitress?
Hmm, I understand. I just checked this out:
https://madagascarinvest.com/average-salary-in-madagascar/
A waitress works 6 days 11 hours. She gets around 60 Euros a month. The Beer is 1.5 Euros and nice meal is 6 Euros.
For a good hot afternoon session I just paid 6 Euros- 30 k too! Now what is rather cheap or expensive?
Walk straight out of LE glacier ouver the street and pass Gastropizza, 200 meters up the Road to the left side corner. 7 K will fill your belly.
I know a certain pirate who lives very near there. I suspect he maybe a customer. Hard to beat 7 K. Shit most places are charging that for a beer now, or more. Good info for those on a budget who isn't!
I saw a video on youtube that showed some flames coming from the roof. In the US, it would be no big deal. But I imagine you can't just call the fire department in Ambataloaka. Does anybody know if they got the fire out without too much damage being done? Looking forward to going there in on my return trip in April / May.

No way a malagasy girl will eat alone a 60 K ariary skewers at Zeburger Nosy Be, or at Buffet du Jardin in Tana.
No way she will sleep alone at hotel Pousse Pousse for 150 k / night.
That's what most holidays guys don't understand (and will probably never), by saying "cmon guys, don't fuck for the price of a skewer, give them more'. They don't get that they landed on another planet, and that the place where they ate it is totally overpriced by local standards. The only times the girls eat there is with them. There is a dark place just besides the little shop and Taxi Be at Nosy Be where you can see the girls sitting and eating fish on a stool. Nobody notice this place. It costs them 3 k to eat.
Where they live (a room with no water and no toilets) is around 50 k / month. Whether you give them money or not. Nothing will change, whether you are in Mada or France or US. Unless you marry them and bring them home, but that's another story.
Walk straight out of LE glacier ouver the street and pass Gastropizza, 200 meters up the Road to the left side corner. 7 K will fill your belly.
Thanks for the hint, I'll try next time.
Could be a movie called The Scourge of the 2 Week Millionaire. Coming soon to a planet near you. And you are right. They don't know and they don't care. Hey, it's cheaper than Europe, so let's go crazy.
And you are right. They don't know and they don't care. Hey, it's cheaper than Europe, so let's go crazy.
I surely could. But I refrain myself to do so, for 2 reasons: I'm more than happy with what I get for 50 k / night, and I try to leave a minimal fingerprint when I travel, by adapting to local standards.
The only times I went crazy was with a singer / model (real one.) who undoubtly deserved diners at La Varangue, and holidays at Kite Paradise (Sakalava) and Mazava Loha (Emerald sea).
I plan to go to Tana, Nosy Be and Ste Marie in April / May.
It is due to internal affairs, not much to do with the vahazas anyway. The upper class has got it, rich in cash and they look therefor down on many vahazas too.
Treat the poor people fair and they will appreciate, hence many poor can not handle money either.
It is not that easy black and white game, it is why moste expats do not give anything to the poor people. With good reasons!
It will be interesting to see what you think of it. I went a few years ago and it's a nice place but boring as hell.
Zisvao! No news!
As a Vazaha there is no news for you to be told if you are asking for. If you ask and give the answer no news your self, they will have a good laugh at you.
However, many quote to keep a low profile. As a Vazaha impossible! You always likely will be the center of gossip you are not told!
Gossip is the heart of these people!
I remember someone was posting about medical coverage in this country and the price to get flown to Europe for treatment. Why not just get travelers insurance? I'm pretty sure most EU nations offer it. And American Express has a reasonable price travelers insurance package, I never leave home without getting travelers insurance forgive me for posting this so late.
In the following I will tell you a real story that happend to me in my past journey. It is a long story and I will post it in sections, so you can make up your ideas how you would have decided if it would have been you. It it is a simulation if you want, some of you may post their decisions. It could happen to each of you!
I have been to this place for about seven days and did have some fun in many ways. After my morning walk I was sitting in the park near the hotel and just spotted a maybe target.
Eye contact!
But all of a sudden I noticed this local monssieur in nice dress, mid age that did not fit in the picture. He was on the mobile and he clearly focused on me.
I aborted instantly my mission, first decision made!
What is going on?
It will be interesting to see what you think of it. I went a few years ago and it's a nice place but boring as hell.
A friend of mine went there 2 weeks in November. Great place if you come with your betsy, because nothing to be found there, as he told me. True! I second that point of view. You can see the rich class in Tana, at la Varangue, or Marais Restaurant near Carrefour, or having breakfast at the food court upstairs the Leader Price besides Pousse Pousse. All ladies with Vuitton bag, men in suits and tie. Coming to eat, or take away the birthday cakes. When I was with my family, they often smiled at us. But when I'm with my malagasy girlfriend, they totally ignore us 😂.

You get paid back your medical expenses. That is covered.
But a return flight --even if you have 40 deg fever and the local doc's are unable to treat you as you would require. The insurance companies will give you thousand excuses NOT to arange a return flight for you.
This is not hearsay but personal experience in 2 serious cases. I just paid my ticket back -- my health was more imortant than discussing the transport with some dickheads in Europe.
I realized two more strange guys approaching. He immediate opens his wallet and showed me his police ID, he asked me about my passport which I showed to him. He took a look and right away my passport was in his pocket. He asked me if I lived in this hotel, yes. We are on a investigation. It was a well orchestrated seizure. What is going on?
So far to me no way to react otherwise than how I did.
I just got shocked, finding my self in a bad movie that just started.
They were so far correct behaving and there was to me nothing I could do differently.
What they are looking for? I did not do anything wrong I was aware of. Well. Does anyone of you guys want to take a guess at that point?
He was just going to tell me.
The inspector asked me about my daily routine and if I do a walk in the morning and where about? At that point I decided to tell him the truth and be cooperative, since I thought and hoped this is a misunderstanding in some ways and it will solve in a minute.
He opens his phone and showed me the picture of tree hospitalized girls, in the age of around thirteen. WTF!
At that point surrounded by five policeman plus the inspector.
"Always pay the first man!" Fuck you expert, LOL.
You can carry a legalized copy of your passport and visa. Your passport won't wear out and will stay clean as well.
Sugar-bags.
In a photo on his mobile was a Sugar-bag, Sugar-bags that I got together with my tea and I did donate to a beggar woman. They claim that I have poisoned it and that is why the girls are now in critical condition at the hospital.
We want to see your room!
Well many do not know then at home, how about Mada?
In some ways it made it easier to handle, no walk of shame kind off and I knew from that point on it is all a made up thing. But by who? How I going to get out of it?
And yes, you just do not know how far they would go.
So we all walked into the hotel and the French couple who run the place were present. In short I told them the situation, and please help me!
We all went to my room and again thoughts shooting through my head. The mess from last night was almost cleaned up, just the remaining pile of condoms.
Anyway, the second inspector did take a short look at my stuff, this hot mad dog gave me 5 minutes to pack all my stuff to bee taken to the police station too!
The first Inspector declined, all I have to do is locking my room and come the the station my self only!
So I got driven in the police car to the station. Girls and people saw me, WAOWAO!
The church-lady I was talking often with too. She made big eyes on the street with mouth wide open.
I amazed my self with staying very calm and with clear mind focused for a possibel solution.
Everything was possibel to happend in the coming hours and days, so I did some calculations with Szenarios and how I would react to that.
What my limits are going to be and when would I freak out in what ways.
You can carry a legalized copy of your passport and visa. Your passport won't wear out and will stay clean as well.
Is it not like the medical insurance with flights covered? It costs you time effort and money in the first place.
As for me I think the would not accepted a copy in the first place. If yes, what do you gain? Run off with the original? I guess they are not that stupid and will hold you at the Airport and make sure you will miss your flight.
You wouldn't have been stripped off your passport. As for what I would have done. In the case I am guilty look for arrangement also known as bribe but if not guilty don't give them nothing.
There were iirc some posts here warning about giving beggars from near glacier food exactly for this reason.
Curious to know how it played out for you.
As we arrived there about ten police man were outside around, all smiling like faggots at the today trophy like! The prison cell door was visual wide open.
We have to wait! The Inspector takes me aside and makes this specific move with the two fingers with a grin on his face.
Serious? Is he now the first man to be paid and it is all over? I do not think so and I declined.
Seconds after that a big car arrived and Madame justice steps off it. A full bodied lady in her mid fifty. Silence in a second!
They all snap attention, she is clearly the boss.
A few words were told and I had to sit in the back of her car. She collected the paperwork and the Inspector drove us to the main police-station.
Cash on the Inspektor would have been wasted I guess.
La Madam Justice.
First I had so sign in. I was guided to the office of La Madam. I was seated at her office-table, LE Inspector next to me.
She was already well informed in the case and we did have a long balanced conversation. She made some notes and all was the basis for a rapport as she said so. I could make some remarks too of how I would proceed if this would go on in a for me unjustified way, I would sue the responsables too. I made it clear that I would want to contact our embassy in Tana. Than it got very spooky!
She starred at me lifted her chin up and cut her throat with her thumb.
We ended the conversation after some more talk after a half hour and I was told to leaf and to show up at three in the afternoon again.
At the Hotel I did explain the case from my perspektiv, everybody listening, including the staff.
LE Patron summed it up with; again and again the same BS. The Patroness agreed to drive me and would assist in reading the Rapport etc. Perhaps since they are kind of involved because of the sugar bags from the hotel.
We got awaited and took our seats, LE monsieur Inspectror present too.
La Patroness did take a box of sugar bags with her and explained that all that sugar is from Mada and there was never a problem with it. They were talking in gassy since she is from there and I did understand some of it. After some minutes the Inspector finalized the Rapport on his Laptop, printed it out and it was ready to be signed by me.
I read it and all the points were in it, also my comments, nothing to be added. La Patronesse read it too and could not find anything suspicious too.
Do I sign it or not? Well why should I? Why should I not, it was just a sum up of the reality so after some moments I signed it. On for me? No! They both stay here. Strange.
After some minutes the parents of the girls arrived in the room.
I could not recognize them, well husband was in his thirty and the so called mother in her fifty. As I look at them. Both of them made a statement in gassy. As much as I could follow Madame Justice told them that the vahaza has a strong sense in justice and he would not give in and denies the poisoning of the sugar and will go all the way.
A Baby in the corridor starts to cry and it was brought in to the mother ho was instantly starts to breast feed it.
After a moment the Inspector took out a sugar bag and claimed it was the second of the two I shall have given to the mother. He opens it, all of us in the room tasted it until it was eaten up with eager. In disbelief and smiling I turned around and outstretch my hand telling the father to stop it now please! We shook hand, he smiled and I thought it will perhaps be over now.
No, the parents insisted to continue and got quit loud. Madam Justice said she now orders a analysis of the victims about a poison! You are all dismissed.
LE monsieur Vahaza tomorrow at nine again here. We all left for home.
I do still do like this people, but may I say that they are kind of male functioning.
Back at the hotel the church lady was at the bar and did have some news, WAOWAO.
Everybody knows it, even some police units, the father is a drug dealer. The girl are in hospital because they most likely have tasted to much of papas drugs.
I made a silent record of her statement.
After that I went a sleep in my room, did not sleep well after such a day.
You wouldn't have been stripped off your passport. As for what I would have done. In the case I am guilty look for arrangement also known as bribe but if not guilty don't give them nothing.

Curious to know how it played out for you.
After the Inspektor told me the thing with the sugar I knew it is a scam. The question at the moment to me remains who is all involved and how far would they go them self? If you bribe it can be worthless and or used later against you too I guess.
Yes I know now no food for sure and cash does not real make sense too.
That's why, Zis voulla! That brought me to the Idea with the sugar.
I got up ate breakfast and this time LE Patron and I drove to the police station again.
La Madame Justice and LE monsieur Inspector were already there. To my surprise the church lady too.
The church lady most likely made the statement about the drugs and the girls with the father etc. To me Madame and Inspector were not paying much attention to it, it got ignored.
After some more senseless talks I got told that we have to wait for the analyze from the labor. By the way I showed my payed tikket for the taxi in the afternoon at 14 am.
You can leave now and we will contact you wen the results are coming in. WTF, BS.
We left, for some reason I gave the church lady some little money for her attendance.
At the Hotel LE Patron said to me " you should have paid bribe " but you can stay some more nights at the place until the results of the lab are coming in.
Ok, does this tells me something too?
There is no Lab Analysis for sure and there will not be a phone call be this morning. I told my self.
I went to my room packed my stuff, deposited the keys. I did pay in the morning and left the place.
Took a Pousse and went to the station, got there 15 to 12.
Madame and Inspecteure were stille there in the office. I went in, told them again about my ticket and time the taxi leaves. I will wait here with my stuff for the phone call.
My people back home are well informed, worried and know exactly were I am at the moment right now.
The Inspector left.
Madame made some phone calls. Again and again or pretended to do so.
I started to stare at her and so did she to me. Nasty toad you are! And yes she could be a caring mother too I saw in her face!
In my pocket I did have some big cash but I was not intend to spend it here.
She said she made a phone call to the taxi informing them I would come perhaps late, to be picked up at the police station or not at all!
"You give me a BJ and after I fuck you on that table *****" - went through my head next to other things!
The parents wanted me to pay the hospital because they have not the cash. The self made drug problem that caused it is away from the table.
There is no Lab and has never been, I am on the grill getting toasted. They all were in good hope for a Christmas donation.
Darn, the turkey is still not dead to be ripd apart! And besides they realize to bee close to the grill too.
All in?
What is when the phone comes in with, venom in the sugar? We have it in black on white paper! I'm am screwed!
The Lab! : " There was no venom in the sugar you gave to them " seconds after the Inspector comes with my Passport in and passes him to Madam. Some words exchanged, shake hands and my passport in my pocket.
Where are you going now? Ni zangazangana to the road Soatrans will pick me up as you informed them. I left, went out down the road twenty meters and sat under a tree next to the road in the shade.
Hundert meters away a checkpoint takes notice of me. Policeman comes over and asked what I am doing here. I just said I am waiting for the Soatransbus to pick me up. The Policeman walks up the road into the Police-station and comes back in a minute. " The Inspector is having his Lunchbreak and will drive you with his scooter to the Station! " The all knew me and the case.
Seconds after he comes, stops and with no word I sit behind him on the Scooter. The ride of shame for the Inspector to the station, I guess. Me no helmet and on that three Kilometers about 20 saluting hands up. At the station right on the entrance, no words exchanged, I walked off in the building. I should have asked them if they got any phone calls? No I did not.
Minutes after we drove pass the main Police-station, me as a free man not bribing them!
I travelled with Turkish Airlines to Tana in October 24 I booked the flight in May 24 for 724 Euro but it was a multistopf light Europe-Tana and Nairobi-Europe but I guess the flight Europe-Tana-Europe would have been the same price range.
I hope Turkish will have these kind of offers also in the upcoming years, because Air France and Ethiopian are just ridiculous expensive.
The flight to Tana was via Mauritius. The vast majority of the passenges left there just 70 passenges went on to Tana.
Immigration, baggage: all went smoothly visa on arrival for up to 30 days cost 35 Euro - . After 20 minutes I was through and was heading to the exit.
ATM: there is a MCB ATM in the arrivals hall. MCB does NOT charge any fee and I took 800 k on my credit card (my credit card does also not charge any fee).
Took a taxi into town for 70 k (right in front of the arrivals).
At the orange store in Ave. The'Independance bought a SIM (2 k) and data 5 GB (30 k) and some credit for calls and texts (20 k) you need your passport to buy a SIM.
Gals:
Tinder and Badoo work well and is a good starting point, lots of hits in Tana, Toamasina and Mahajanga, no hits in Moramanga at all.
Stayed in Tana in total 7 nights and checked out 2 hotels:
Hotel Glacier 70 k – cheap, rooms are ok with safety box, fan and fridge, but noisy (Ave. The'Independance is noisy at night).
Hotel des Artistes 95 k – small „dark" rooms, safety box, fan, no fridge – avoid rooms 1,2 and 3 as they are too hot and „right in the restaurant" and it is not so nice if you walk by all the guests tables with your lady and enter your room next to a table where someone is having lunch or dinner.
Restaurant:
I went many times to a restaurant called „Beteko" – next to the stairs to the Jardin Antaninarenina / Place de l'Independance – the food was good and tasty and cheap.
Gals:
Used Tinder / badoo – lots of hits – the problem is just, that many girls „pretend" to not have any money and they cannot afford any means of transport to come to the city center – so they ask for money upfront (I should have sent money somehow upfront) which I always declined – so I missed some really hot ones – but there are plenty more so I didn't care.
Girls in Glacier – you can find them almost all day long – a few around noon. More come around 4-6 pm and stay until 9-10 pm – then some of them are heading to TaxiBe – ratings: some young and hot ones, some older and fat ones. As you like. Some ask for 100 k short time – but I refused – some went down, some not – but I sticked to the 40 k (short time) – 60 k (long time) „rule" and still got what I wanted – but some also wanted 100 k and didn't want to go down.
Going to TaxiBe: ALWAYS bring your passport. Police will block one road after dark and stop each taxi with a Vazaha – they will aks for your passport / visa and if you do not have your passport you will be in trouble. A copy of your passport / visa is NOT sufficient – I was told that the minimum „fine" to move on is a 80 k bribe.
Cotisse.
Tana-Toamasina – booked Premium for 50 k (and also travelled back):
It was a Mercedes Tansporter – they are reliable, we always left on time, good drivers, friendly personnel, with Premium I had enough leg room (I'm 5'9), you can even rest a bit with their reclining seats.
Towards Toa: the first 4 hours the road is ok (until Andasibe), after that the road gets nasty – towards Toa it is mainly downhill and the huge amount of trucks (Toa is the main port of Madagascar – lots of trucks on the way) can be relativley easily overtaken – it took me 10 hours to arrive in Toa – the way back to Tana is mainly uphill and the slow moving trucks are difficult to overtake – it took me 12 hours to get back to Tana.
Soatrans.
Tana-Majunga – booked Premium for 70 k and back VIP for 130 k:
It was a VW Crafter (Premium) – they are reliable, we always left on time, good drivers, friendly personnel, but less leg room than in the Cotisse Mercedes Tansporter, and the seat is also more uncomfortable, but you can still rest a bit with their reclining seats.
Towards Majunga: much less trucks, but the road is a mess – it took me 15,5 hours to get to Majunga (incl. A flat tire break) and 13 hours back.
For me Premium is the choice – VIP (was a Chinese Mini-Bus) is 60 k more expensive, but you only get a coffee a croissant and a bottle of water, wifi in the bus is depending on the network and was mostly not working, A / see was only rarely switched on by the driver (I guess to get more motor power and to save on fuel).
Not at all! Thanks for letting me take so much forum-space, LOL! I do like to read it for my self, again and again, great adventure it was.
Besides I knew that sooner or later something like that would happen to me, and It will to you.
I forgot one thing: La Madame Justice did advice me on the second morning to take a advocate since I will need one. And yes after a moment of thinking I declined, since it would get more complicated, time consuming and costly for sure on my own will.
I have learned a lot about the people first hand and how strange to me this people mental work, more predictable now.
How ever I booked already for next February, I am hooked up.
Some delights I had tasted during my trip in Tana.

Get a copie certifiée of your passport. That has been mentioned many times before. I don't like the internet. There's plenty of Photoshop going on now. Girls are catching up unfortunately. Prices. I never pay more than 40 k ST. As an exception 50 k. 100 k ST never! I already heard some girls trying to get 200 k. That's almost a months minimum wage. NFW. The transport scam is starting here too. Don't be taken for a ride. The Taxi Be is just 1200 MGA. LOL.
Apparently La police is getting greedy too. LOL. The legendary police checkpoint on the way to to Taxi Be. In the past 10 k was sufficient. Or you go later at night. Usually the police packs up around 9 pm. They just want to fleece commuters. At night it's dangerous. So you won't see any police moving. They usually lock themselves up in the commissariats. There's another solution. Walk. And take Taxi back late night.
La Buse.
Who avoids late night all together. I have my harem here. No need to look for late night pussy. In fact you find plenty during the day. If you know where to look that is.

Very easy. From mid January Coup de Coeur is back. At least three ATR72 500 are operational. In general if you book early enough flights are available one way from 100 to 120€. Mahajanga is pure suffering. Even Toamasina 12 hours is borderline. If there's no breakdown.
Other than that. Yesterday a French man was almost killed in Tamatave. After being almost tortured to death he revealed the location of his hidden stash of cash of 6000€. Inside job. I saw pictures. He didn't look pretty and medevaced himself to La réunion for treatment.

Toamasina: take the VIP Cotisse bus at night. Seats very comfy, you can stretch, bring your own food and drinks for the night as they not have a food stop. Much less traffic although the horrible road is the same.
But then -- as prices for the flights are down again and now 3 planes in service, for 90 Euro its worth to go by air.
Routes and tariffs. Just forgot in my original post.
And yes. You are right. If the flight situation is improving (enough planes in operational status) and the prices are getting reasonable. I would prefer a flight rather than a road trip. But back in October. Prices were high and just one or two jets were operational. So I decided to go by bus.

The Hotels will charge you around 70 K, that's 20 in the pocket and fifty for the cab. At night it will be a collective Shuttle Bus to different hotels, same price.
15 K ist the local city bus, to the center, like hotel Sole.
So you will likely stick to 50 K daytime with the taximaffia. This time I made it different:
Booked a Scooter for 30 K!! Passed the Taxis on two spots I was negotiating bevor and waved them with a smile.
Payed 40 K on the Airport with a smile on both sides, bonne noel!
I do like and appreciate some of your profound information of the past, but lately you start to lose it.

This time, and I regret not have taken a photograph of it, I came across a Menu in a Restaurant that still labeled in two lines the prices. Francs Malgache and Ariary 5:1.
You need to know the prices and mentality! You are legal resident to the Ille Rouge by paper but by your blood and colour you stay a Vahaza.
They tried to fool me this last visit with this simple trick several times and I do not mind since I am dressed properly like a proper human being, I just smiled and reply: Franc Malgache you mean?
To your example of 100 K ST breaks down to the 20 K. Smile!
Waowao? This news is spreading as fast as lightning among the girls: I have found a fool again ho payed me 100 K ST!
I am a strong believer in market economi, the sozial one. I often pay more than I should have but I let them know that they not have fooled me.
Besides, I you ever visit a Lemur park there you have the to prices listed: resident Malgasy and etranger visiteur. As etranger you pay often official 10 times! The price difference is deeply rooted and do unterstand that to my certain extend.
20 K. Day and night.
Next to Diamant I was talking to girl in the evening ho offered her service for 20 K in the nearby short time hotel, the hotel did have a price sign starting price was 25 K!
Took her to my place, service was rather poor, well I did not feel good with her and let her early go for 20 K.
Daytime at the Grand Avenue was a Mamasan with her chicks some of them spoke some English. None of them did have a ID. Dated a girl twice, service was incredible! No Limits, on the second day I gave her 40 K!
However, after one customer the girls would go home!
One evening a car approached me on the Avenue Foche with two dudes in the front and two girls in the back, the guys were trying to sell the actual good looking girls. But I declined, kind of oddish.

Stayed in Toa in total 6 nights and checked out 2 hotels:
Hotel Satrana 100 k – small rooms with A / C, no fridge, no safety box – since the wifi wasn't working I moved after 1 night.
Hotel Arjana 80 k – big rooms, A / C, no fridge, no safety box, WIFI was OK – so I moved here and stayed 5 nights.
Night spots:
La Terasse, Taxi Be and Panama Club.
La Terrasse: I would say the main spot – around 10-15 girls in and outside of the place – restaurant is good.
TaxiBe: I haven't visited it, so I cannot comment.
Panama Club: around 3-5 girls in and outside of the place.
Gals:
Behind Panama Club there is a small dark alley where I saw sowm SW standing.
SWs are also patrolling the streets between La Terasse and Panama Club. So almost every girl on the street after dark is a potential hit. Just approach them and have some small talk (of course French is in 95% of the cases a must) and off you go to your hotel.
Tinder and Badoo – work well, lots of hits – see also my comments in the Tana report.
Prices:
30-40 k short, 50 k long time.
Some delights I had tasted during my trip in Toamasina.
Stayed 2 nights in the Bezanozano Hotel: 80 k – run down hotel right in the center of town, this hotel needs some facelift urgently.
I also found the famous" Toff Bar (mentioned by a fellow monger in an older post) - opens somewhere around noon. And closes at 9 pm – I was there on a Monday at 6:30 pm and I was the only one – the 4 girls wear blue Tees – but they didn't approach me. I left at 7 pm – still no other customer. So I cannot confirm the „brothel-like" bar.
Directions:
If you are leaving the Bezanozano Hotel turn 20 m tot he left (Shell Sign) – right opposite there is a street leading to the market – follow this street for 80 meters, then turn right into a small alley (behind Hotel Tiana) – after 15 mteres you are in front of the Toff Bar.
Train:
The train Moramanga-Toamasina (and back) is running, but somehow on that Monday, when it actually should have gone to Brickaville, I saw the train standing in the Mormanaga station the whole day – so better check before you plan to go with the train (official schedule attached).
Bus to Tana:
Took the TAFITA Bus service – Premium 13 k. Hourly departures.
Gals:
No hits in Tinder o Badoo.
Also during the day I haven't seen many good looking girls – maybe they are all in Tana or Toamasina. So I left „undone".
Stayed in Majunga in total 8 nights and stayed in 2 hotels:
Hotel Anjary – 90 k – big rooms with A / see, no fridge, no safety box, WIFI was OK– but since I was not feeling comfortable in this hotel I moved on after my first night.
Hotel LE Badamier – 110 k – Standard room, A / C, safety box, but no fridge (w fridge 130 k) – good hotel, but noisy street – stayed 7 nights.
Checked 2 other alternatives:
Kismat Hotel – 90 k – Standard room (fan) with fridge, safety box would be installed when the client moves in (they told me) / 110 k w / A / C– quiet street, right behind supermarket – rooms look ok.
Central Hotel – 75 K – Standard (fan)/ 90 k w A / see – but basic rooms (no fridge, no safety deposit box, bathoom looks not so good).
Gals:
Tinder and Badoo – work well, lots of hits.
Bord de la Mer – some girls available – starts at 18 h, but still lots of families – best go there around 20:30 h.
LE Zanzibar is dead" . Was walking by numerous times. Almost no clients, no girls.
Chatted up some girls on the streets – . Just approach them and have some small talk (of course French is in 95% of the cases a must) and off you go to your hotel.
Prices:
30-40 k short, 50 k long time.
Some delights I had tasted during my trip in Mahajanga.

Hotel: I stayed at Nadia Hotel, the tall blue building next tho the shell petrol station with a good Restaurant. Rooms on the third floor overlooking the town. I could sit in the doorway and twice I waved a girl direct from the street after eye-contact in. Parc National Andasibe is close by.
Toff Bar: yes to me too, out. Few locals and just three girls. The two signs kept me off too. Next to it is a good carcotte with a second floor the steep stairs up into a party room.
The karaokes down the road to the stations were each night packed with heavy drinkers and rather a aggressive vibe, only few girls. Bad looking Streetwalkers even at night light.
The train: Calculate three nights there. At 7 AM to 8 AM tickets are sold for the next day, if the train is in. I took the train to Vavony. Lac Raosabe, fresh water lake.
Next to the rail station is this monument. On various sites, different towns I saw them, all in the best condition they could be. The story about it tells its self.
Antsirabe: Hotel Diamant for 50 K with large rooms, the Nightclub and the area has got something to it. But its out, it is no attraction anymore, only for the sake of its former glory.
The place to be is Hotel du Terme were Kings resided, nice park and pool 80 K. Louis 15,60 K All you need to know about the Antsirabe will tell you the nice French owner.
Tamatave: Hotel Veranda for 135 K my favorite! Top kitchen, clean rooms, quiet location, mayor attractions in close distance. Joffre out.
I'm looking for massage and brothels in town. Asking taxis and motos goes very difficult, talked to 5 in city center but weren't even able to point me out to the ones I already knew. Best to head to les quartiers first and ask there but yeah beaucoup the'efforts.
Massage places that act as brothels:
Soft Hands Massage. Near Manson, alley before Belvedere Hotel. Isoraka.
4 Charm Spa & Massage / Charm' Spa. Same alley as Flora Hotel. Ivato, near the airport.
Massage starts with the minimum hour price of the room 30-40 k. Add for the girl depending on your wishes and how pretty she is 40-100 k.
Some local brothels open during the day, wouldn't really walk in myself but was tempted sometimes:
Across the street from Sole Hotel in City Center.
Down the street near Mada Hotel in 67 HA.
On the north end of Rue Razafindrokoto Eloi just before the roundabout where Paositra Malagasy is.
These local brothels probably start at 40.000 MGA.
Old reports say more then 7 massage places around Manson and Lalana Russie but it's just Soft Hands right now.
I don't see any brothel near Gare Soarano, this shouldn't be hard to spot after dark, nothing there. Independence girls can be very pretty though, good experiences with all of them.
Several massage places I walked into were genuine massage places.
If you know something please let me know!
First time in Tana, didn't believe my eyes!
These fair haired beauties weren't at all what I expected! Also everyone is so polite, is that French influence? Not sure if I should head to India next or another French speaking African country. Brazzaville and Yaoundé are high on my list. Of course the 3 month visa couldn't be extended at Immigration HQ.
Glacier, Taxi Be, Manson and L'avenue de l'Indépendance is where it's all happening. No working girls at Irish Pub or Red Club next door as far as I could tell.
Pay 40-100 k depending on how good she looks, add 20 k for raw. Same price for all these locations. Pay 20 k extra for Tinder girls.
Got 50 matches on Badoo but nothing ended up being genuine, just lot's of chat. Tinder is fine but these were my worst experiences. If you say Kampala, Lusaka or Nairobi, I say Tinder! If you say Tana I say head out to a bar.
Medicine are cheap just avoid city center pharmacies, they sell expensive brands. Antibiotics and MA pills (Pregnon 5800 MGA) go under 6 k if you look around.
Just 600 MGA for the minibus? Plan with moovitapp.com or you'll be helpless. Taxi at Glacier starts at 10 k, at Taxi Be you pay 15 k.
Maybe the power downs are not so amazing.
Bonne chance!
Very nice report. Short rides with the bus I. E. 1-2 stations can be 400. They can also be more if zone suburbaine or bus class. 800/1 k or 1.5 k respectively.
The price of 'passage' / ST for the low class streetwalkers is not 40 k but rather 7-10 max 15 k plus room 2-5 k. Also including BBFS but negotiated before or you ask for drama.
Hey all. Wondering if anyone has recent experience in Ifaty?
I frequented Toliara some 15+ years ago, still my favorite spot in Madagascar, and at that time the road to Ifaty was basically like a dried up river bed. Took 2-4 hrs to get there from Toliara if I recall, in a 4 x4. At that time Ifaty was kind of like a beautiful outpost, lots of gorgeous beaches, and I stayed in a bungalow on the beach, at the Bamboo Club, I don't think there was any surveliance or checking of comings and goings, and the scene in general was very mellow. Bar with dancing (hardly a discoteque) was open only on the weekends, maybe just Fri and Sat. Plenty of girls on the weekend, but also during the weeks, often walking the beach.
The road has been paved since (maybe 5 years ago). I have never been on it, but I now understand it takes only 20 min to get there and you can hire a standard taxi from Toliara and go back and forth in a day or just for the evening / night. I wonder how the scene has changed. Any comments out there on the current accomodations and girl availability?
VL.

Go to Anakao, chez Peter Pan.
Hello,
I'm planning on visiting Tana and Nosy be in June.
Do you have any recommendations of massage salons that would offer a wide array of spinner girls (I like them slim, 18-25 yo), even better if you're able to call and have them come to your airbnb. And their prices??
And. Be: ooh I forgot, since I only creampie, only recommendations from places ok with the practice: no condom attitude.
Feel free to pm too if you have some good contacts.
They exist but are not really necessary and in my experience most foreigners don't bother. There are plenty of places and situations that present themselves when looking for pussy. Just read back about a hundred posts! As for creampie, bareback is standard in Mada although I am hearing (unfortunate) rumblings lately of girls asking for condoms. It is far from standard. Recently I saw 2 posts about it, one guy claiming you need to offer an extra 20 K and the other guy talking about negotiating up front. Sounds like BS to me. I have never paid extra and never discussed it. I have had a total of maybe 4 girls bring it up and only one insisted. A nice BJ and out the door solved that one. Have fun and report back.

I'd say fly to Addis if you want "massage parlors" The younger girls all know what STDs are and HIV and how to protect themselves. Thanks to the wife of the president. That is a new generation. The 20 y old now is more adept and better educated than 10 years ago. Surcharge for BB? I never heard about that BS. Might be that some dumb mongers ask for BB. AND girls are not stupid here. They know what's going on. Some already were hooking in Dubai on Tourist Visas. But Madagascar is not an island anymore. Broadband Internet and cheap smart phones also make inroads. Not in La Brousse but times are changing for sure in Tana. But the broad masses living in La Brousse. Not much change there.
Other than that. The whole city 3 million of Antananarivo has NO piped in drinking water since 6 months. Typhoid and Cholera are everywhere. Ask me. I came down with Typhoid fièvre. No fun.
La Buse.
I have a visit arranged for 10 days in Ambataloaka in June. Although I have travelled widely, it will be my first time there and I am looking for any advice or tips about the place and its nightlife? I am an older guy but I speak French fluently. I have watched a few vlogs about the place and it seems that Taxi Be is the place to go, but I see many girls just standing outside. Do they approach you or should I talk to them if interested? Are most of the ladies in groups inside 'available' or just out with friends? Do most expect to stay all night or is shortime more normal? Could you give me an idea of the fee that they might expect? I really prefer very slim ladies.
What about daytime activity? There seem to be legitimate massages on the beach but do these ladies come back to the hotel and offer more? Are there any fun bars in Hellville or Darsalam?
Any info regarding good restaurants or pick up places as well as places to avoid would be a great help to me.
At this point someone (in this case me) will tell you to read the bloody forum. Every question you asked is answered somewhere in there.
Just cause I feel amiable today:
Almost every chick inside and outside Taxi be is available. Many will approach you, lots will let you make the first move. The worst you can get is a no, but most of the time it will be yes.
LT or ST is up to you. Many girls will expect that you want them to stay, particularly if it is late at night. Beware that a few will be hesitant to leave the next day hoping that they have found a one week sugar daddy. Don't be afraid to politely turf them out if this is not what you want.
Fee is typically 30-50 K ST and 50-60 LT. Be aware that some of the best looking girls are now starting to ask for 2-4 times that so it is advisable to avoid the drama of your ho demanding more money in the middle of the night or the next morning. Get a price before you head to the room. That said the girls don't have much of a leg to stand on. No one wants the cops involved and the girls do not want the cops or hotel managers or reception to single them out as trouble makers.
You are in luck if you prefer slim girls. Probably the most common type in Mada, slim with small tits, they are everywhere.
Finally, have not been for 2 years so maybe others with more recent experience will chime in. Leave a report if you go.

Suggest you do a morning walk, starting from the south end at Hotel CocoPlage. Stroll along the whole main road with open eyes, stop then at the restaurant "Chez Bidule". Its a 40 minutes walk. The place is full from 9 am having a petit dejeuner until late with your countrymen living there. From them you get all actual info to make your stay worth.
Don't forget: most of the tips here on ISG are written by tourists not speaking french. You got an advantage over them!
Visiting Tana next week, looking to get some good young ones. Anyone around wanting to meet and have fun together please message.
Any recommendations / contacts that I can call to come to my hotel are welcome! Thanks.

I'm going to be in Antsiranana. Last post about that city was in 2022.
Just looking for massage parlors. Thanks.
Also, 1 USD = 4. 7 k Ariary? Posters are mentioning 40 k, which is less than $10 usd?
Try searching for posts about Diego, not Antsiranana. I was there last year. No idea about massage places. Never noticed any and even hotels do not flog them although many offer the service. Not much point as they will just be the middleman and charge you for providing a girl you could probably find in Taxi Be. Yes 40 K is a decent price. If the girl bitches about that for ST she is getting greedy.
Waouhhh! So many comments! And I feel people are angry I pay so much! Well I'm not Quasimodo like you wrote! I'm nice boy, good-looking, slim, I'm 40 and girls love me a lot! When I see the situation in Madagascar, I was in Tana, Nosy Be, Ambilobe, Diego, Sambava and Antalah, I used the taxi-brousse and planes and I can see people are so poor! So I'm glad to make girls happy with my money. Anyway for us europeans, to pay a girl 200 000 AR or even 400 000 AR, it's nothing! And seriousely, if you want high class and sexy girls, who are between 18 to 25 max, they don't go with you for 50 000 AR. Most of the girls go with 200 000 AR. And if a girl is nice and ask 300 000 AR it's not so much, and I'm glad to make her happy!
And I can say, that when you're nice and generous with the girls, they love to stay with you and they don't use you.
Most of the girls, I found them on Facebook! It's very easy, some french sponsors who are totally in love of their girls, want to show everybody who is their girlfriend / Wife and they post so many pictures of their girlfriend, so I love to contact their girlfriend directly, and they always answer me to meet me! In 3 weeks I fucked without condom 11 girls. Girls don't use condom in this country, and they really love to fuck and of course get money!
But for the men on this website who say they fuck girls in LE Glacier or even Taxi-Be in Tana, I totally believe them when they say they fuck for 10 euros all night! But I was everyday in LE Glacier or Taxi-Be to check the girls, and sorry but girls are so ugly there! If you want sexy girls, better to find them on facebook, or even in the streets or in the hotels directly when they leave their customers! I did that twice, waiting girls leave their customer when I was in Radisson Hotel in Tana, and they came my room directly!
I'm going to be in Diego.
How do you find these women on Facebook?

Also in mada, there is no skim market. No need to pay extra or ridiculous prices thinking these women are models. Non of them are actually models. Biggest issue mongers face these days is the simp-epidemic.
Women in these countries don't need saviours. It's a simple service. They offer a service and we pay for it. As far as I am concerned, ho mongering is dying because of the simp-epidemic. I remember back then someone quoting me 300000 AR and I reduced it down to 50000. If everyone stops paying ridiculous amount of money for a simple service, then non of us have to pay 300000. If they asked me that price, I know someone else have spoilt them and I know that guy is a loser.
Besides, look how disgusting the Thai women look now. 10 years ago, there was only skinny petite Thais in every bar. With all the simps in Thailand and women having money and beer, women are getting fat and uneffable each year. The self proclaimed macho narration of the Thai sex pats just a whimp to cover up their beta male loser asses.

Precision: I'm french but anyway the price of a service should not be indexed to the language. Respect them, don't spoil them.
You can say the same thing about dom. Rep. Or philippines, all these countries spoiled by stupid guys in a decade.
I started as a young bloke to use the service of working girls. I always knew I won't ever be satisfied with a monogamous relationship despite the narration that is pushed to men at a global scale by certain cult operatives with their own political agendas which don't apply to a vast majority of men. This narrative is unnatural to everyone (including women) and I won't get deep about it since the topic gets political. And I like to pay upfront for the service in a monetary value rather than establishing deep relationship with women (which eventually turns out to be meaningless).
Therefore, I strongly believe commercial sex should be widely practiced and available. Easily accessible and affordable to every man like food water and air. Because it's a basic need. Women don't have any actual value other than offering sex to men (which is the hard to swallow pill for most left lenient men.) Besides, no animal wears a rubber in love making. It's okay to protect yourself but it shouldn't come at the price of compromising the experience.
Offering more money never guarantee you a better service. We are all slaves one way or the other. Women value money and we value sex. So the most prominent reason for women remain in commercial sex is having less money. Unfortunately, to keep this system of civility going, you have to keep the women poor. That's why women only jobs and diversity is pushed in the West to make men more oppressed (it gets down to politics).
All monetary values are arbitrary values. Never pay the asking price if you don't see the exact same value for the service just because you have more money. Best is to always offer way less than the asking price. It also helps to remove bad actors from the industry. (Clock watchers, money grabbers). As men we must not treat or no longer see women as innocent. It's no longer true under the current circumstances. They have more benefits; law is set to favour them and oppress men. It destroyed every part of the world. Not just West.

The Airbnb I stayed in last time is sold out during my next trip (early May). I was wondering if anybody here know of a place or had contacts that are renting something out. What I'm looking for are:
1. Private entrance. I love hotel Ylang Ylang. But the walk of shame is bad and they completely shut the building down at some hour in the middle of the night. Not conducive to mongering.
2. Air Conditioning. At least when the electricity is on.
3. On or near the beach somewhere between Ambataloaka and the Tati Cris area. I don't care if it is a 1-200 m walk. And I also don't care much about the view.
4. Doesn't look too third world on the inside. I'm doing facetime calls back to the US and don't want something that looks like I'm in a hostage video.
5. Price. Up to $120 / night. I know this is high. But I'm willing to pay for the convenience if it has what I want.
Nice-to-have - 6. Nice desk and wifi to get work done while I'm there.
If anybody can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. I've scoured Airbnb and come up empty. Worst case scenario, I get a hotel room in a nice location and a fuck shed somewhere. But that would suck.

Saw this place in the middle of town, on a traffic circle.
Looked through the door and saw 2 unattractive skinny ladies sitting at a table chatting. Didn't go in.
Nearby (can be seen from the main road), there was a beauty salon / massage place. Forgot how much in AR but 10 euro was ok. However the young chubby girl that was going to do the massage was eating. The girl at the desk held up 5 fingers as in she'll be done in 5 min. Nah, she wasn't that pretty. Plus the place didn't have air conditioning.

A modicum of precaution will prevent that almost all the time. Let me ask you, do you leave anything about when you go out that any of the staff, particularly cleaners, could lift? If not then you shouldn't have to worry about the hos. They absolutely do not want that kind of attention, bad for business and they don't want cops or hotel receptionists to know they are troublemakers, or thieves.
I have never had a hooker steal anything from me (in Mada!) as far as I know but a couple of years back somewhere between Diego, Tana and Tamatave 50 bucks US went missing. I had actually forgotten and paid no attention (stashed in my bag) until a week to departure and I discovered whoever did it left me 2 dollar bills but had liberated the 50! Almost certainly a staff member. I know it was not a hooker because my stuff is always left in view even from the WC. I was a bit surprised because if I knew earlier and had made an issue of it someone would almost certainly be fired. They do NOT want to lose their jobs.
If you are still worried find a short time room for 5-10 K.

From Luxembourg, I have worked with a malagasy external consultant based in Antananarivo who, as a digital nomad, frequently works in different cities in Madagascar. Veloma,

Power was out in Nosy Be for about 6 of my 10 days last year. Fortunately, the Airbnb had battery power that worked for everything by Airconditioning for about half that time. I also had a powerbank for my cell phone and managed to do most of my work on my phone and / or ipad. I spent a few nights at Ylang Ylang when I couldn't stand living without AC. And I recharged everything there.
It's certainly not easy. But it is doable.
Don't come to NosyBe if you have to work on Internet: power failures will make it obvious that you are not in a civilised place. Let your office stuff at home! I wonder why the admins allow such forum posting.
Just let the ISG serve it's intended purpose. Try not to make it as porn hub where people post educational videos instead of porn. We have individual takes / views on countries and infrastructure. I am speaking behalf of mongers who visit mada for recreational *ex. I don't think it's suitable for full blown cloud computing or data science work. May be it's good for digital marketing like YouTube and blogs.
For over a month or so this app indrive came to mada. Probably only will be useful in tana and maybe fianarantsoa but still. Don't use taxis enough here to give a review but I used it in other countries and its good cause it lets you set the rate and you can just wait it out in your room until someone accept.

Have watched a few short videos about this place but still unsure what exactly it is. It seems it's only open on Sundays. Is it just a beach side bar or simply a pick up joint? Is there live music and does it serve food? Is it worth a visit?

That's nice (for you!) but what does it have to do with Neddy's post from 2 months ago? I am pretty sure this is not a new Taxi Be in Tulear, considering it's never had one. I would rather someone in Tulear, right fucking now, could give us an update on the state of the town.

That was superb, got a very very nice Massage, the girls are Beauty.
Was a very nice experience, will go again.

I haven't had Typhoid or Cholera these past months in Tana. I haven't had fever at all though I did experience some minor flew symptoms twice for a day a two. I squeeze in the crowded bus regular and have my tongue up everyone throat.
I had some food poisoning in Nairobi from raw bacon from the supermarket, never from street food. I think I might have caught cholera in Lusaka, I was sick for two days, not as bad as the bacon from Nairobi though.
I appreciate the info and warnings but I'd like to insist that Tana is safe to visit for everyone in good health.
Hello,
I'm planning on visiting Tana and Nosy be in June.
I agree with the others that massage parlours are not really necessary. For the first time in Africa there's more babes on hand than I have cash on Tinder, Glacier, Taxi Be, Manson and the streets.
These I know:
Soft Hands Massage. Near Manson, alley before Belvedere Hotel. Isoraka.
On the road towards Ivato Airport:
4 Charm Spa & Massage / Charm' Spa. Same alley as Flora Hotel.
Another 2 massage parlours in the two alleys after Orchid Hotel heading towards the airport. You'll see the signs by the road next to the alleys. Forgot their names.
Also there is VIP SPA CLUB in Ivandry but it's very expensive. Lot of girls on staff though.
I think Soft Hands has room starting at 60.000 a an hour, Charm Spa 50.000 a and the one's near Orchid 30.000 a. They all have someone on staff I wanted.
You have to negotiate the girls on top of the price for the room. I suppose you can have a blast coming straight from the airport but it's not best buy.
Have fun!
You already sort of already have all my other info so let me add some about the streets of Tana.
After dark you might encounter some very hot street girls on crossing / start of the road going down back to town in front of LE Manson / Restaurant Casa Blue. They're not always there like L'avenue de l'Indépendance but starting at dark, 6 pm to 11 pm maybe you might get very lucky.
L'avenue de l'Indépendance from Glacier until Soarano Train station on both sides of the road. Loads of girls, some young and beautiful.
The whole block around Sole Hotel there's many girls in the dark though never the most beautiful ones. Then again they might beat some of the girls in Glacier not that I didn't find the girl of my dreams several times over there.
As for street food I never see BBQ legs like Kampala and Lusaka to a lesser extend. Dar and Nairobi has them fried. The only thing I like to eat on the streets are ansjovis baguettes. They never made me sick though maybe it's better to score a baguette in Super you. Pain paté starting at 2 k.
Fruits:
The Lychee season was awesome. 5 k for a kilo but is now over.
Big pineapples for 5 k have been plenty for 6 months now.
Passion Fruit 4 k per kilo.
Kaki fruits season is now, they've been plenty for over a month now. They can be as low as 1 k for 4 pieces.
Guave Pears never eat them but want to.
Atemoya I had for the first time here, very good! 3 k for a big one so a little expensive.
Others: Banana, Coconuts, Advocado, Jackfruit, Water Mellons and all kinds of sugar mellons.
Also they sell all kinds of disgusting fruits like Soursop and Baobap fruit, not to mention Breadfruit.
You can buy fruits from the street as long as they're still whole. I don't buy pealed jackfruit, passion fruit bottles or water melon slices.
I can truly say the sushi I had was disgusting and so far all the pizza was bad. Lusaka is better for dinner dates, so is Harare.
I walk around city center until about 00 h00 and feel safe, no problems. 10 k for a short cab ride with your girl!
Taxi Moto guide:
Maybe 7 k up to 2 km.
10 k up to 3 km.
15 k up to 5 km.
20 k can go a long way.
Yeah that's expensive. Dar and Kampala are only 0. 25 USD per km. This is even more than Nairobi.

I then did a search myself, but I couldn't find La Diva Massage online or on Google Maps.
Where can you find massage parlors in Tana?
I've visited Asia Massage myself.
It's located at 3 GWF+84 W Antananarivo, Madagascar, down near Analakely.
Relatively large building, easy to find.
Usually 5 to 10 girls inside, also available at lunchtime.
Prices: around 50 k for the massage, 50 k extra if interested.
The rooms are okay, service is fairly direct, but the entrance is very open – you're clearly seen when you enter.
Back then, I also found information about Massage Rue de Russie.
Small entrance, somewhere on the right when coming from Manson / Sakamanga.
I was in Tana 2-3 years ago, but couldn't find it despite an intensive search.
The taxi drivers I asked couldn't really help either. Perhaps it was too hidden or no longer open.
How do I get the information?

Hey boys, I was checking out which country to visit next. Madagascar popped up in my feed and looked interesting. I'm going to be going through the thread and seeing if I can find my answer but would love an updated direct answer as well.
Is Madagascar worth visiting for my needs? I don't speak French. I prefer a single companion for my initial trip who acts as a sort of tour guide to the place, but obviously takes care of me as well. Usually Badoo covers girls like this for me in countries I visit. I tell them I'm only looking for something casual and to show me around, they agree, I usually cover the trip and give them a nice non agreed sum for their troubles. All I have seen from Madagascar are the baobabs which I would like to visit / picture. Maybe some landscape stuff. But definitely end up by the beach. Is nosy Be the best place for this? Would you recommend finding a girl on Badoo in Antananarivo to show me around for 2 weeks or so? Obviously traveling with me cross country. I don't want to be stuck in the capital. Or should I search some other city for the girls of my requirements? Any suggestions on what would be a good amount for her? Thanks!
I tend to do it this way because its my first time in the country and prefer local girls showing me around rather than me running through the troubles. At the end of the day I'm on a holiday and ID rather not care which restaurant I'm eating at next. Obviously if I find the experience with the girls + the country, I'll be back and explore the local scene. Thanks.

About half of these places I found through the internet. They have facebook pages so you can call if you need help or info. The other half I just stumbled upon driving around or being lost on foot. I'm sure there's more places so if you know another one please leave a reply!
I don't invite a girl from a bar or Tinder over for just a blowjob so these places function great as a pipestation, also massage girl will let you "jouir dans bouche"!
Taking them out to your hotel is 100 k extra. Handjob with DATY (60 minutes) starts at about 80 k total, maybe some girls charge less. Penetration with the best looking girls probably at least 150 k total and I mean at least depending at the place of course. I couldn't get a BBBJ under 100 k. The price starts with the room for an hour about 25 k - 60 k. I'm high with my price so do your own negotiations.
Not everyone is doing bare sex like the bars. I found some amazing tits so some massage with DATY can be enough fun and value.
These places are open now in may 2025.
Sort of around city center:
Rainnah (Analakely).
- 3rd floor above some Medical Clinic, in front of Feima Hotel.
40 k for the room.
Yummy only (Isoraka) This is Massage Rue de Russie.
- 5th house of Lalana Russie in between Grizzly Steak House and Photocopies. Not an alley but a corridor / hallway leading.
Into an appartment complex. If you look well you'll see a sign saying massage.
30 k for the room.
Naturally's Beauty (Isoraka).
- From LE Manson / Restaurant Casa Blue walk about 100 m into "Lalana Adrianary Ratianarivo". It's hard to see. Just a.
Weathered down sign barely readable saying "Naturally's Beauty Massage". Walk up the stairs, 1st floor. 5 girls.
25 k for the room.
Soft Hands Massage (Isoraka).
- Near Manson, alley before Belvedere Hotel. Isoraka.
La Diva (Ankadivato).
- Near Sokhotel, above J-Feeling Karaoke.
50 k for the room.
Tana Massage (Antaninandro).
- in between Les 3 Métis and Supreme Center (biggest pc flat in Tana, laods of stores. You need the "roof" entrance, bottom.
Entrance is another street.
30 k for the room.
Sweety Massage / Urban Spa (Amparibe).
- In front of Marine Nationale. Next to a building saying Toyota. It doesn't seem a road next to the building as Google Maps.
Suggests but looks like a gated parking lot. After 7 pm the gate will be closed, knock. There's no sign but at night you'll see the Christmas lights burn. The guard acted as if he didn't know there was a massage, just walk in. It's there.
50 k / 110 k Jacuzi.
Places beyond walking distance from city center:
4 Charm Spa & Massage / Charm' Spa (Antehiroka).
- Same alley as Flora Hotel.
50 k for the room.
Channel Massage (Ivato).
- In the alleys about 600 m from "Orchid Hotel" on the road leading towards the Airport.
35 k for the room.
Vane the'or Massage (Ivato).
- In the alleys about 600 m from "Orchid Hotel" on the road leading towards the Airport.
60 k for the room.
VIP spa Club (Ivandry).
- Just google maps. Alley next to Akoa Hotel.
Hope Massage (Isotry).
- Go to the roundabout at "BMH Isotry" (Medical Clinic), continue west towards 67 ha, after 100 m is a church St Theresa to the.
Right. Walk into the alley leading towards the church and you'll see a A4 paper saying massage. Walk up the stairs, think it was.
The 2nd floor.
Places that have closed their parlor:
Massage Plaisir = Closed. Facebook only outcalls.
Asia Massage (Analakely) = Has been closed for 2 months now. Facebook only outcalls.
Angel Palace Massage = Closed.
I am sure that guys who are mad for massage places are thanking you right now. I personally cannot see the point in paying as much or more for the room as the girl, or as you state, a LOT more. 100 K for an outcall? Minimum 100 K for a BBBJ? Sorry but this is nuts. It's Mada, remember? In any case, have fun. At these prices I do not think you are going to have a lot of competition!

.
I pity you!!
Serious. Whom you want to impress with that list of overpriced, mamasan controlled hyppos?
Just arrived in Nosy Be for the 1st time inspired by all the great posts made here by other travelers. So far the trip has been going well with a few ups and downs. At the Airport I enquired about getting a receipt for some cash I was bringing in since allegedly there is a new law that if you are later bringing any foreign hard cash out you may have to prove you got it. Hence the desire to get proof I brought it in. However the Customs Officer who was checking me in knew nothing of this and the issue quickly escalated to a meeting in the supervisors office where it was confirmed he knew nothing about it either but would help with the issue. However I decided to quickly get out of there on hearing mentions of "we're thirsty" stating I've decided I don't need a receipt for the $$. From there I had little choice but to pay 80 k for a taxi. I was under the assumption that it should be about 30 k, however some taxi manager showed me a table on his phone that indicated 80 k, so I went with that. Went for a quick walk down the main strip not particularly looking to hook up with any providers, but met a nice quite friendly girl who upon request confirmed a 20 k gift would be acceptable. We had a very pleasant evening at the hotel and agreed to meet later in the week. However, by the evening of my second day I was struck down by a pretty bad case of the runs and could not leave my room for 2 days. Now back in action on day 4 I arranged to meet the girl from day 1 for a daytime meet up. Everthing went very nice, had lunch, beach massage for 20 k back plus some quality time at the hotel. However, for the next day Day 5 I decided to meet some new people. I turned down a girl on the beach who requested a 70 k gift as the price seemed excessive. She was very attractive but a bit older, maybe late 30's to early 40's. She seemed to be targeting the older guys lounging on sun chairs on the beach. Around 7:30 hit the street and fairly quickly was tagged by two girls, both not so tall, but one had some nice curves, while the second tighter body but nice curvey butt. I enquired how much a gift the wanted for 1 of them. They said 30 k, so I countered with 20 k which they agreed to, with them specifying 2 to 3 hours. I bought them beers at Taxi Be and headed back to the Ranch. Only one of them had an ID card to leave with security. But they were both in their late 20's. Security let them in. Initially things went very good. The skinnier girl making up for so and e of the curvey girls slight hesitations on some things. But they very clearly on a mission to get finished up fast then off for a shower. By the time I git out of the shower they were already dressed. I got out their 20 k each plus 10 k each tip I was going to give them only to be met with long faces and protestestations that no way was that what they had agreed to, and in fact what they want was way more as they claimed. I think. That they had agreed to 20 k in the old Madagascar Currency which is worth 5 times more. I did not agree with their request and tried with no success to reason with them. So I offered to give them an extra 60 k on top of the 40 k originally agreed. But they would not bite, getting more hyperagitated by the minute. So I grabbed up the cash and told them to wait while I put some pants on and then without telling them anything opened the door and walked out of the hotel room calling over the guard whose booth was just down the way. They girls followed me out saying not to involve the guard. However I explained to the guard that they were not sticking with the original 40 k agreement, wanting payment at old money rates, and requested he watch while I paid then the 40 k plus the 60 k settlement extra amount. I asked the guard to explain that this was more than fair, which he did while I went back to my room. I chalked this up to a learning experience glad that that it got resolved without any further escalation thanks to the assistance of the guard. Needless to say I showed my appreciation to the guard once the two girls finally departed. I woukd be interested in hearing opinions on how I handled this extra cost demand from the two girls, or is there something more I could have done during out first meeting in the street to have avoided it all together. Also any input on going rates would be appreciated. I am getting the feeling that the more high end girls might not be happy with 20 k for ST.
Taxi from airport is 80 k but you can negotiate for 60 k like me done 3 days ago. You can't get anymore any better looking girls here for 20 k. Nowadays even with 40 k you getting many refuse from young beautiful girls without kids. Nosybe is really changed in the last years as youtube bloggers start advertise it many guys come here and start overpay some facebook girls start demand even 100 k for short time they think they can get away with this as somebody paying it. Now is high season so much people here. I need admit myself I get many refuse for 40 k for short time If they refuse I offer 50 k and most agree. Nosybe is going downhill compare with few years ago but still plenty fun around!
20.000 MGF (The old currency) would be just 4000 AR.
Thinking 20.000 would be the right taxi fare from the airport, 1st day having the runs, getting mixed up with the currency, falling for 2 pro-girls. Typical mistakes of a newcomer. More to come?
Welcome to Madagascar.
After last night's run in with aggressive scammers I decided to take it easy and not actively seek out any female company. However, after getting a nice two girls massagecon the beach for 40 k, while walking along the shore I meet another beach massage girl slightly older maybe mid 30's, very sexy, very seductive and persuades me to let her come to my hotel at 9 AM for massage "and more". The massage she agrees to do for 20 k, but a cost for the more part remains elusive. It it turns out to be anything exorbitant it will be less rather than more with a quick exit.
So since I'm on "a day off" I go for a very nice meal of duck confit at Bamboo, followed by a beer at a curbside table at Taxi Be. I quickly start getting chatted up by an extremely attractive, very dark skinned, very slender, medium height girl. Eventually she offers to come to my hotel for "massage" for 30 k. I ask does the massage include everything and she remains evasive. At the hotel, her slinky tight dress is off in seconds revealing a perfect body underneath with my favorite cone shaped pointy breasts. She does a quick shower and them proceeds to tease with some nice hand work enquiring how much do I like sex and what is it that I like to do. Of course the answer is pretty obvious, but when revealed she smoothly transitions into advising that she could do all that for an extra 140 k. I advise her that I'm surprised that an extra K at all is needed and was of the understanding that the 30 K quoted for massage included sex. She said no. Not with her. I said OK, how about agreeing on an extra 40 K, since she did have a smoking body and great potential. Alas, it was a hard no.
So I said let's just do the massage. So surprise surprise, what followed was an extremely mediocre massage, with extra painful pinching with fingers and nails, no doubt on purpose, very quickly covering all the massage basics in about 15 minutes. Needless to say there was no happy ending, and no touching of the masseuse attempted. The only really peasant bit was getting nice up close views of her perfect jiggling breast and perfectly smooth that sitting on me briefly two or three times. Then, quick as a flash got dressed and rather glumly accepted her 30 k payment. I wished her well and said hopefully can meet her again, to which she replied "I don't make love for 30 k" and she quietly departed. I guess she was disappointed her failsafe upsetting scheme to get a total of 170 k for a hotel visit did not work.
Me, I was not too disappointed. I had learned another one of the local girls upsetting tricks, had kept my powder dry and ready for tomorrow mornings surprise package.
But, I am a little bit disappointed overall. I had read in the forum that Mady girls were very trustworthy, not scam artists like in other Countries, and that there was really no need to negotiate the fee and package in advance. Just go back to the hotel for "a massage" or "some company" and leave an appropriate gift based on the going rate (which I was led to believe was 20 K for ST) under her bag. In reality, with one exception so far, that approach does not seem to work. It very much seems to be buyer beware, and to expect prices much higher than 20 K, a likely upsell or outright scam if she does agree to a low initial price. Therefore I plan to get the girls to be much more specific about what their price is, and what it includes before proceeding back to the hotel.
Therefore, I would really appreciate it if somebody expert on Nosy Be could confirm what the real range of going rates for ST and or LT are. I'm not a cheap Charlie and am prepared to pay higher prices, but I don't want to be suckered into overpaying and contributing to driving up rates unreasonably.
Nowadays even with 40 k you getting many refuse from beautiful girls
40 k = about $9 usd, correct?
This is what Google tells me in Malagasy Ariary.
My 2 cents I think you handled the 2 scam girls about as well as you could. Kept your cool and involved the guard who has seen it all and knows the price the girls are asking for is BS. They obviously knew as well since they did not want his involvement. "massage" has always been code for sex in Mada, like many other places. What's new is it was always assumed and there was none of this separate massage and sex difference and paying for each separately. This is a big red flag for our hobby. Not a good sign at all. I did not always negotiate for girls services but it seems like one would be wise to do so now to avoid any drama.
In general your 20 K for ST seems to be becoming a thing of the past and I have no doubt NB is becoming more and more fucked up. Look below at Pokeris' post. He gets around and is known for not trying to overpay so his numbers are probably a good guide. For me this is just another reason to avoid a place I have never really liked.
Good luck and keep posting. Boots on the ground info is always appreciated.

(As they understand you don't know going rates) offer 40 k for short time if she not agree offer 50 k if its a beautiful young girl without kids most will agree but even for 50 can get sometimes refuse! For all night 70 k should be fine but nowadays not many girls want stay for longer also somehow they prefer short time. As you are newbie for you better negotiate price in advance so you not get surprise at the room. As this days when you give them 40 k at Nosybe without asking how much she need is over!! Also I assume most your girls you get is from ambataloaka area at night they are more professional and ask more here and are brainfuuckedd. Try speak with some waitress or girls from shops or girls at market or anywhere or on facebook they have much more better attitude and less change they refuse your 40 or 50 k offer. Also buy orange sim card + data bundle + sms bundle for sim you need passport. Just don't buy telma (or yas as they change name now) its very bad network 50 percent of the time not working. I make mistake myself to buy it and after 2 day through my sim to the bin and instead bought orange its works great. Walk on the street or anywhere you see the girl you like ask facebook they all have it. If don't have facebook ask for number after text her with google translator and ask her to come your hotel! Its nothing hard. Its so much girls around I don't know how I can fuck them all I like in 8 days more I have here I need to have 3-4 extra dicks to complete my mission. !! Also for massage on the beach around 1.5 year ago or so I manage negotiate for 15 k this time I not try it yet but I guess its still easy manageable for 20 k ariary. Have fun!
Back in February I had a trip to Tana all I can say there is plenty of talent in the streets to get. English is spoken in that country just a little. I do not speak French but all I can say it appears French is prolly spoken in that country also. I stayed downtown that's is not my full report. But I will post it soon.

I will up my baseline bid to 40 K and go a bit higher from there if necessary. Continuing to shoot for 20 K would be a recipe for frustration on my part and unnecessary spoiling of the mood with a girl I like. Nothing puts a bigger damper on her enthusiasm than someone trying to get the goods at a much lower price point than what she thinks is reasonable based on going rates.
40 K = $9 is still extremely reasonable compared to prices Worldwide.
I've seen a couple of the YouTube Videos self promoting their Business and NB. Many of them done with cringe worthy production and super clickbatety titles such as "I've found the World's Cheapest Hookers" (or words to that effect). These type of videos can definitely have a damaging impact to the scene and market in NB potentially bringing unwanted local and Worldwide focus to activity in NB, potentially resulting long term changes in regulations and government champions. In addition they could start attracting "the wrong type" of customer who is just here to abuse girls sullying the reputation of normal decent mongers in the process, and upending the delicate mutually beneficial provider / customer environment that currently exists. These serious potential negative outcomes of these types of videos can be eliminated if everyone from this group watching these videos, or who comes across one of these videos, "Flags" the YouTube video for review by YouTube based on content in these videos that goes against YouTubes polices as regards sexual content and promoting prostitution. YouTube will quickly block these Flagged videos or close the associated channel if enough violations are reported.

Based on advice in various postings I've read over the years a big benefit of a hotel with Security holding girls ID'S prior to entry as compared to a DIY apartment or AirBnb booking with no entry security is in situations like this. If I had been staying by myself in an Apartment I would have had no additional support and things could have escalated way worse. So I was feeling very fortunate for having gone the hotel with Security route, and grateful for the accuracy and benefit of the advice on the forum.
I'll keep posting when something interesting or noteworthy happens. I'll try and keep my posts a bit briefer as I've a tendency to ramble on.

There is a reason the girls are asking those prices, someone is paying. Tourists that can pay for expensive flights and hotels do not care about if they pay 10 euro or 40 euro, they reason that it is much cheaper then back home so 40 euro is already a "good deal" as Trump would say!
Nosy was good 10 years ago, back then you never negotiated price. Last time I was there 30 short and 50 all night was accepted without issues. Now with inflation 40/60 should be correct. The performance and attitude of girls goes the opposite direction of prices. There is absolutely zero correlation between price and performance.
Once the gossip goes between the girls how much someone got paid what do you think they have in their mind when they are servicing you for 40 when the last customer payed 160? The closer you get to European summer holidays the greedier they get. But greed is actually the wrong word as everyone want as much as they can get right?
It's not like there is some justification for paying poor unprivileged girls as low as possible, in a "fair world" they would not go anywhere near most of us members of this forum so "any" price is reasonable in that sense.
Be ready for more disappointment. "Madagirls" "Passivenomads" YouTube channels is not exactly driving down price. He want for tourists to drive up prices of his property. The count down for Nosy Be has already started. If I go back it will be Tamatave as it is too boring for tourists.
And how fun is it to discuss pricing when you do not even understand the language and the confusion that brings? What did we really agree on? Will there be a surprise in the end? Then it's more relaxing staying home wanking.
Last time I stayed 2 weeks and was not sorry about leaving. It's very hard to get a good blowjob from mada girls and I think there is too little variety, after 1 week you see the same faces over and over again, and the performance in bed can be quite boring, they do not take much initiatives on their own. Mada girls have very good skin but for me the diversity of body shapes is too little. I prefer more curves like in mainland Africa. Best variety is Angola but there are too many other issues.

All this newcomers, not interested in the country, language and culture at all but only in a cheap fuck (and for the Pattaya and Angeles clients: a fuck below 50 $ is cheap for them) are pushing up prices by lowering performance. Thats what happens all over the world.
But Madagascar, the main island, is big and adventurous with no infrastructure, no security, diseases waiting everywhere and no one speaks english. There those blokes with no balls don't dare to go. Thats good!
First of all. Nosy Be is not Madagascar. As in Mtwapa is not Kenya.
To come here for holiday without speaking decent french or Malagasy is a waste of time and money. Especially for 2 weeks. In 2 weeks you'll have the typical tourist experience. Avail yourself to the hard core hookers which are easily recognizable by smart phones preferably with earpieces long painted fingernails etc. Fancy dress. High Heels. If they're drinking alcohol smoke they're the hardest of hardcore you find in Ambataloaka. Geared towards the clueless overpaying monger. For example black bling bling guys from the eastern US seaboard. They're happy to relieve you of your hard earned cash. By blatantly overcharging. Like 100 k plus. As the previous poster confirmed. Prices are still 40 k /60 k. For the residents of course. Be also aware that STDs are rampant. Buckle up or you'll get a nice tourist souvenir in the form of chancroid or gonnorhea which is easily curable by 3 1000 ML shots of ceftriaxone.
The conclusion don't come here for 2 weeks. Utter waste of money. After a month or 2 to 3 you'll unlock the sweet girls. Which of course you'll not find in Ambataloaka.
La Buse.
Hello Gentlemen!
I am planning a trip to Madagascar and am currently researching the best way to go about it. It will be a short trip, around 9-10 days total. I have done some researching already, including reading back over a year on the forum, as well as VLOGs on Youtube and reading general tourism books.
I have read about the dreadful roads and long distances, for which I would have no patience. I am planning to keep it simple -- Morondava (to see the famous trees and Kirindy forest park) for 2 days, followed by 4 days / nights at Nosy be. I was planning to dedicate an entire travel day for each change, as I hear that flights are unreliable. Tana does not interest me. I would fly into Tana, then leave the next day. At least for the prices I have seen, money will not be an issue.
I am a fairly experienced punter. Not decades and decades, but I've travelled and seen plenty, including all the major punting hotspots around the world. Madagascar is one of the last places on my bucket list, and a first in Africa. I like point and shoot, without having to be worry about getting scammed, squeezed, or drugged. I have no desire to hunt the streets looking for hidden gems, or LTR. I suspect that Taxi Be is for me.
I have generally avoided punting in Africa, though I have always been intrigued by Madagascar because of the reportedly much lower STD rates, and the exotic look of African with a bit of Asian. And I like slim with a pretty face. Great tits are appreciated but not required. NO thick booties.
My questions are:
1. Are the girls at Nosy Be generally clean / hygenic? You read about the poverty in Madagascar, and I don't want someone from a slum. No funny smells, especially down there. This was a problem for me in the DR. I want girls who are at least decently put together.
2. Recent punter's gut instinct on the risk of STDs? Look, I know the risks involved with our hobby. I do everything covered, with BBBJ on a case by case basis. A small risk I am ok with, but not extraordinary risk.
3. Recent punter's gut instinct on the risk of getting scammed? I was wondering about this because I don't speak French, and would be relying on google translate. Nosy Be appeals to me because it seems a place where our hobby is well-trodden and open. Taxi Be looks ideal to me. Where gents and reasonable professional adult women can meet to conduct business.
4. Lastly, any good recommendations for girl friendly hotels? In particular, I would prefer a place where guys like us are common. Where they check IDs and are generally looking out for us. I don't like doing the walk of shame among families. Whenever possible, I would like to go higher end. I don't like to spend more than I have to, but 100 E a night is fine if its close to the beach and has everything I want. I have only seen one hotel recommendation so far: La Perle Rare.
I have been a part of ISG for many years now. If you check my posting history, you will see that I have travelled quite a bit, and would be happy to answer any questions you may have about my travels.
Thanks in advance!

La Busr.
I've only ever visited Goringosa Beira and Maputo. Maputo super easy and cheap. Go to the main beach down town and visit the food market stalls. Amazing food and you will get approached. Not professionals but local girls enjoy meeting westerners. I've picked up girls there a few times and well worth it just glove it.
Have to agree with Neddy. You are spending most of your time travelling. Fuck Morondava. Dusty hot town with fuck all to do. Fly straight to NB if you don't want to deal with Tana. Do the deed with as many or as few "service providers" as you like. Fly out. At a 100 euros a night for accommodation you will have the best NB has to offer. Try not to pay the same for the girls. Slim and small tits are everywhere. Have fun.
I came to country back in February, French is poorly spoken in that country and a lot of people can't read nor write. Of course if you go somewhere people are very well off of course you'll find people who speak French. Ironically I found some people who spoke English but it's rare.

Especially in tana. Hell before coming here first time I learned well over 100 hours of French and had B2 from the old school days as well. However trashed it all for the real local lingo just two weeks into the trip as I considered it useless. Malagasy has its own problems for example all parts for repairing car or motorbike are in French but its way more effective in general any time.
Maybe if you only seek out the more expensive segments of the market and or only stay in the city center youll be fine speaking french and French only. But what for? The snail eating expats mostly full time alcoholics anyways won't accept you unless you are one of them. Local gasy who learned French mostly did it with the motivation to leech off said speakers. Especially the prosies where BTW you won't have good access to the cheapest of skanks if you're into those LOL.
Malagasy as for the merina accent is underrated among this and other forums IMO. You can go to provinces and people will understand you but their answer with a different accent may be hard to understand. And if you make it to ambanivohitra youll be gucci. Just so many local things you're just not a part of when only speaking French.

La Buse.
Neddy, are you sure of it? I just don't see that happening. They prefer the curvy, mixed black girls of DRP, Columbia, Panama, and Brazil with nyash. And those countries are right in their backyard. Only a few hrs of flight away in the same time zone and for much less. We in the USA are often lured with deeply discount flights to these countries, often with hotel and resort stays. Also with very good retirement and resident visa programs for those who want to stay. The chicas also speak just good enough English is at these destinations. There is an unlimited number of Mulata, Morena and Latina Carmella girls waiting for their gringos from the USA. I'm not a bling bling guy, but I know the slim small-nyash Malagasy girls are not on their priority list. I would be curious to know the breakdown of what countries the mongers are from in Madagascar. I'm sure the USA wouldn't even be 5%.
Off the top of my head. 85% French, 10% Italian, 5% everybody else. Particularly for NB. Mongers that is. Tourists a few percent more from anywhere and everywhere.
Contrary to many posters here propagating the language of the snail eaters I've also had the same experience.
With the Malagasy very simple French is sufficient. Interspersed with some Malagasy. In practice I speak a mix. And as you say. Dialects are another matter. I speak Merina dialect. But you can make yourself understandable. Most can count in French. Specially the girls. But. Most educated Merina speak good French. And not all French expats are alcoholics. Depends who you mingle with. Buffet du Jardin for example.

Not from the USA / Canada, for sure. If you don't speak Malagasy or French, you are not going to last there. The critics maybe only mean Noisy Bee? Why would a typical English speaking monger go there if prices are already high and the girls don't speak English and the infrastructure of the place is primitive, way behind of Thailand and the SEA region. How is that a real competition? Maybe other French and Italian mongers?
Have to agree with Neddy. You are spending most of your time travelling. Fuck Morondava. Dusty hot town with fuck all to do. Fly straight to NB if you don't want to deal with Tana. Do the deed with as many or as few "service providers" as you like. Fly out. At a 100 euros a night for accommodation you will have the best NB has to offer. Try not to pay the same for the girls. Slim and small tits are everywhere. Have fun.
Yes, SouthEaster got it right here, and exactly what I was going to suggest. I would not go to Madagascar with less than 2 weeks and even that is pushing it, 3 to 4 weeks is best for a "short" trip. But that said, you can still do it in 10 days. Hit one place and don't try to travel around the country, that will only lead to frustration and stress. It also depends on where you are coming from. Jetlag can be a drag, but if your time zone change is only a couple hours, you likely will only have to deal with getting over a redeye flight on arrival. If there is 7+ hrs time change ontop of the flight time, then I tend to be useless for a day at least.
Fly directly into Nosy Be if you want the beach scene, and as much action as you can get, 1 or 2 girls a day is easy. And you will not be able to avoid the scammers with no experience, but don't give in to them when they ask 100 k+, give them 10 k for a taxi and send them out the door (or better yet, agree before the hotel). But you can find sweethearts that are honest, fair and very experienced sexually in Nosy Be, mostly on the beach or at Tatie Chris (on Sundays), and even in Ambotaloaka if you have good sense and choose wisely. 40/60 k is still doable in Nosy Be. And you don't have to spend 100 euro at a hotel, there are decent places for 40-60 euro a night.
I also avoid Tana these days, but I had a lot of fun there in the past when I often spent 4-7 days there in between travel to other places. The nightclub scene is fun, the restaurants are diverse and great, and there are girls from all over the country there. It has gotten much rougher and more dangerous though over the years, since the 2009 coup and again after the pandemic, but I kind of miss those early days.
VL.
All the lazy arse sh*t see*nts who want to live their life in easy mode is a curse to this place and I couldn't agree more. This place is certainly going downhill. All the main ones like "passive nomad" just completely ruining the place and the vibe. I don't understand why these blokes are even here. Mada has existed before them. They market this place as some sort of pussy island for the losers. 40 k is no longer existent. What's next?
Taxi from airport is 80 k but you can negotiate for 60 k like me done 3 days ago. You can't get anymore any better looking girls here for 20 k. Lack of English and poor infrastructure etc. Neither black nor white men will travel for pussy to Mada I can tell you that. Just Columbia alone has millions of gringo loving black girls who are just 4-6 hrs flight away. Cartagena, for example, a nice, comfortable city known for black girls on the Caribbean Sea, doable even on a small budget. Saving a lot of money and time and energy! Plus a grater variety of girls! From black to mulatas and in between! If someone worries about monger invasion of Mada, it won't come from the New World!
"Neither black nor white men will travel for pussy to Mada I can tell you that. " Just what colour are these guys in NB? Purple? Green? I get your point but you seem to be missing one. Stayed at tana for 3 days and checked indrive app and its works here as someone already mentioned here before. I try to give more details! Its not much drivers yet at all and at late night I could find any driver! But daytime when I play around on the app was not hard to find a driver. The minimum fare for a ride is 10 k ariary so for very short distance probably its still more easy just negotiate with simple taxi drivers who standing on every corner for less or the same price But for longer distance the rates is quiet good. Like example I try order indriver from hotel tripolitsa (near glacier) to airport and I get a driver for 27500 k ariary I not accept offer as I was not planning to go to airport at this time. But I try one ride from tripolitsa hotel to tana waterfront mall its near (Radisson Blu Hotel) the driver arrive with newer car (not the same shitty taxis here) after trip I pay him 12 k ariary. I was just curious to try the app and it works. Backway I just take simple taxi and negotiate for 10 k ariary. Its good indriver its at tana and hope later it will be much more drivers. From analakely to airport for 27500 k ariary its sounds like a deal. Nowadays you still can negotiate with shitty old car taxi driver for 40 k ariary from analakely to airport.
Some of the more recent posts suggest that Madegassy witchcraft or the usual dreamy sailor's yarn of days long gone are involved. LOL!
So it's worth mentioning that this forum is also the best advertisement for the destination, just like YouTube videos and the like. The excesses are to be expected as a consequence at the hotspots and will continue to increase. Madagascar is constantly changing, primarily because the local people want it that way, and that has to be accepted.
During my recent visit, I realised that it is still wonderful and everyone gets what they deserve.
It's a mystery to me why the Krauts are often so insulting to other nations, maybe it's because they can't get anything done at home.
French is still the official language in Madagascar, even with basic knowledge you can get by very well. The fact that many Madagassy also speak it badly makes it even easier.
The good food in Madagascar is mainly inspired by the French, much of it is old school and of the highest standard.
Beef fillet Rossini with fresh goose liver, Tournedos de Cebu Rossini. For example, is marvellous.
It's a mystery to me why the Krauts are often so insulting to other nations, maybe it's because they can't get anything done at home.

Or to Korea where the brothel ladies in the windows turn round not to serve you? Or French guys not speaking to anyone not pronouncing their language perfectly? Or in India where the pimps pressuring double fee out of you because you are not local. ?
Sadly Madagascar is changing slowly, also because of this ISG information database open for every English speaker (. Not the Krauts only!) coming here for cheap fucks but disrespecting their culture and fadys.
Wait a few years -- and the girls here will also only do a mechanical ST for 100 $ -- as most idiots meanwhile paying in other previous cheap monger countries.
Palmistry and the Dust of Widows.
After reading the relevant old literature, some will want to give the impression that they have understood the subject matter. But I got the impression that the Madegassy don't understand it themselves today. What I at least recognized is their penchant for the subject matter, which is inherent in me.
Wherever I met an attractive girl, I first made deep eye contact. I would gently stare at their hands, open my hands and they would ask with great anticipation and shining eyes if I could palm read.
Yes, and so I did.
The rest is physical. And yes I talk to the ancestors in the trees. Girls told around and more came.
I told them about the widow's dew in my homeland and some shared their secrets. Do not betray them or you may regret it bitterly.
That way, you may be more likely to be seen as an equal and gain respect.
So who uses Facebook and why, and what they get. LOL.
Most importantly, beware of the Vahazas!
Don't trust any of them completely.
The locals I have always been wary of in the past are increasingly easy to predict, at least for me today.
Like the well-dressed vanilla trader, a Frenchman I met in a well-known restaurant. He told me about his business model and how easy it was to sell his vanilla in Europe with a large margin, which he would deliver to me on cash payment. He would also give me delivery addresses in my country. My holidays would be fully covered with a simple delivery after my journey home. I was thrilled!
I'll be here for another two weeks and we'll discuss it again in detail, I replied.
He ordered a little something to eat and offered me a THB. He was very nervous and tense, I must mention.
Strangely enough, the potential haulier could not be found by the dealer after two days.
Not even in me is to be trusted. LOL.
I am generally very talkative, but the locals are only so when they have reached a certain level of trust.

A great funny video for sure.
It wants to be an educational documentary, in fact you have to document the narrator's behavior so that some people realize what entertaining nonsense he's spouting. He gives the impression of knowing how it works and he has it fully under control. But I really admire this singing ease of chatter. He probably failed at home and he will again in his new home. They exist in Thailand and the Philippines and elsewhere, and the result is usually the same.
You should always try to realize in your mind that you have nothing really under control. Accept that in Madagascar and you are on the safe side.
How will they dispose him one way or another? .

Sadly true. I'm french and as you know, I promoted Mada and delivered many detailed reports about many Mada places since few years. I also did on the french forum Youppie, and I regret it now. More and more french guys are now flying to Mada, the head full of dreams and the pockets full of money. As they say: '10 EUR is nothing for us'. So some now give 50 EUR/ night, even though the girl would not asked for anything except enjoying the company and instant confortable life. They are probably used to pay 500 EUR in Europe, or spend such amounts in a FKK... 50 EUR is 250 K ariary, more than a full month of salary for a waitress working 6 days / week! After complaining it, I understood that the conquistador attitude is still in the western mind, I quit the forum, and stopped to report (here too.). Since 30 years, I kept on traveling to philippines, thailande, Brazil, dom rep, Cuba, dozens of times. And lastly Mada. In 3 years, I can see the difference: girls mentality and attitude are switching from adorable and genuine to pro, and prices are increasing. So sad. Please keep prices normal (Tana is 60 K, provinces are 40 K even less), smile, stay polite and respectful. Reset you mind and values, and switch to the Madagascar figures when you put your foot here. Just keep in your mind that a 'serious normal' girl who choosed to work hard, earns 10 K / day. Yeah, that's 2 EUR or 2 USD for a whole day of 10 hours work... If you want to help the girls, don't overpay the pussy, but always leave a tip to the workers.
Why do we men are like that ??!! When it comes to pussy, we can ridiculously overpay to reach our target and feel powerful. But when you go to the toilets, it becomes painful to tip 50 cents to the poor lady who cleans your shit. Doesn't she deserve more than that? If 10 EUR is nothing for you, then why don't you give it to her?
Sadly true. I'm french and as you know, I promoted Mada and delivered many detailed reports about many Mada places since few years. The box of the Pandora is open already and all the evils are released into the previous innocent world of Madagascar.
The rise of the internet created this damage.
Meanwhile you can find internet forums where guys like you with warnings about the change of conditions are blamed that they wish to keep this special country for themselfes --and asked to stop telling bullshit of paying too much and of the need to speak french.
This are not only highrollers but simple minded guys. Not finding anything in their homeland but used to pay overpriced escorts. Mada was praised as one of the last paradise -and they fly in. Less from the US, more newcomers from East European countries, Israel, India.
Lucky, the coastline of Mada is close to 5000 km with many spots still untouched by those loosers and lucky: Infrastructure is terrible to go there plus the hygenic conditions are horrible and will help to scare and eliminate some of them on the go.
I tend to agree. Frankly the ability of the internet to fuck things up is amazing. When it was just kicking off in the 90's it seemed a godsend of sorts. Ironically there is an excellent case study for this. I first started going to Cambodia almost 30 years ago. I will not go on about the good old days etc. Any of you lucky enough to have visited before 2005 knows what I mean. Enter the internet and a large number of fuckwits that wanted to brag about their exploits and encourage others to follow. From around 1999 or so until 2003 or so there was a concerted effort by the Cambodian government and chirstian do gooders from the US to put a stop to the fun. Their reason? Turns out other people besides mongers actually were reading internet braggards too. Long story short, it was the end of cheap and easy pussy in PP. For foreigners. Vietnamese hookers were hounded out of the country. Mamasans were arrested. Some places lasted until around 20110 or so and then it was too late. What do we have now? Girlie bars and ladies drinks and stupidly overpriced pussy.
It is coming to Mada. Just give it time. I think places like Tana and Nosy Be have about 5 years left. Tulear, Majunga etc. Maybe 10. Party now. It will soon be over.

The one's complaining is one group. But guys on youtube or insta, spreading their half-knowledge, gained during one trip, are even more scary.
Internet with AI combined in the hand of amateurs can be a demagogically dangerous weapon.
I spent four days in Nosy Be in June. 'Walking Street' was pleasantly manic and merely catching a girl's eye seemed to be enough to get them to approach you. I bought them beers and on two nights took a girl back to my hotel.
Each wanted more but compromised at 60 K ($14). IDs were checked at the hotel although both were in their early 20's. The security guards were also tipped. Neither was very adventurous in bed and would not let me take a photo. Both asked for 10 K taxi money.
Not much English spoken but my schoolboy French and Google Translate was more than sufficient.
Getting out of the country was almost as manic as getting in. The immigration officer was insistent I had overstayed my visa which was not required for less than 15 days. He wanted a 10 euro "administration fee" in order to let me escape.
I'm back there soon and should be able to give a further report.

And don't tease anybody with this nice clip of Basta Lion, a great Gasy singer.
The motivation is always the same, just please make Madagascar unattractive- so I have it only!
Air fares are still cheap by the way, under a thousand euros from Europe, and so on.
But this passage surprised me:
Youppie. French Forum:
"Anyone staying in or traveling to Madagascar must be aware of the current implementation of Law 2007-038 of 14.01. 2008, which stipulates, among other things: "Sex tourism means the act of a citizen or foreigner traveling for any reason and having sexual relations with children or prostitutes who themselves seek sexual relations in order to obtain any benefit" and that this is punishable by 5 to 10 years in prison and / or a fine of 4,000,000 AR (1,600 €) to 20,000,000 AR (8,000 €). "
Strange? Is there still meat on the bone? I guess not.
Anyone who has visited will have seen just how often this law is enforced. Somewhere around never is my guess. Much ado about nothing. Worry not.

Worry not.
These changes to the law were introduced following pressure from the UN to address the issues of sex tourism, child sex, incest and trafficking.
If you look at the provisions they are very muddled and contradictory. For instance it is illegal to have sex with a girl under 15 in one part and 18 (Article 333) in another. Likewise it states that expats living in Madagascar are committing an offence if they engage in sex tourism in another country.
Article 335 states that "any owner. In charge of a bar. Who does not oppose the habitual presence of one or more persons engaged in prostitution in the premises are deemed to be a criminal". Nosy Be would be a ghost town if that was enforced.
If the government really wanted to address these issues they would raise the age of consent from 14 and make prostitution illegal. But that would presumably upset the locals too much.
These laws have never been enforced. The police lack the resources and the government lacks the will not least because of the hugely damaging effect it would have on the tourism industry. Of course, as with some other countries, even though the laws are ignored, it does offer an opportunity for unscrupulous police officers to use it as a reason to extract bribes.
SouthEaster is quite correct. But one still needs to be careful.
Nosy Be was buzzing although nothing much happens after 9. 00 pm.
There were several girls hovering at the entrance to 'walking street' and a lot of girls either in the bars or walking up and down the street normally in pairs. Those in the bars were the more professional and many had phones and could afford to buy drinks; the ones on the street tended to be younger and less experienced.
Walking into the town most girls responded to a smile and it felt safe. Lots of French tourists either families or single older men.
I am staying in a well-positioned hotel above a restaurant. Although not 5-star it was new, clean and good value. There was no problem with bringing girls back although ID was requested.
I met a pretty 23 yo who was inexperienced but enthusiastic. She wanted 5000 (just over $1) but I insisted on giving her more and took her out to have a pizza.
Thank you for the enlightening, additional comments on the legal situation.
It supports my thoughts that as a tourist you are protected to a certain extent by the profiting industry, hotels, bars you name it. However, this protection is only marginal and ultimately many want to make a quick and easy buck off you. Yes, be aware of this and act accordingly.
However, as always, to each his own!
I am aware that some less than honest cop could make my life miserable in a delicate situation. It is part of the deal. Do I worry about it? Not one bit. Most of the time a little discretion and common sense will keep you out of trouble. When it's unavoidable there is always the great leveler. Money. Doesn't work every time, but close.

Anyway you guys are still same as always, just complaining about how bad it is now comparing to years ago.
Anyway I did like Mada so much that I'm planning to come for 6 months this time, any tip for visa? Do they do visa extensions in the immigration office? How do you guys do this, some of you stays there for very long time.
Greeting.
BTW I was there 4 months in total and with zero French, still for this 6 months trip I do not plan to learn, waste of time IMO.
It's great to be in Tana even without Tinder. 11 pm in Taxi Be is amazing all the time, in the afternoon Glacier is often worth a visit!
I continuously can't receive the Tinder login code on my phone. The account is several months old, then all of a sudden my phone don't receive the codes anymore. For two weeks I couldn't log in. Then it worked again for two weeks. Now I can't login for 3 weeks.
It's not some ban or shadow ban, I can't create a new account either.
I'm using Tinder on my pc in my browser. Obviously want to see who I'm looking at. Can't get codes when I install Bluestacks either. This happened in Zim and Zambia as well. Tried to buy a new phone number with Telma and open another account with another email adres. Doesn't work either. Tried 3 different phone providers in Zim, didn't work.
Now it get's worse. Tried to open a Google account with my brand new Telma number. Nope, immediately sais it's been used too often. No it hasn't, it's brand new.
Even worse, can't get onto Facebook either with the new number. Maybe it's the combination with my Tutamail account, still going to try with a Yahoo.
I'm out of options.
Were you here the past 3 weeks? Did you login to Tinder?
-Which provider did you use? Telma? Airtel?
-Which device did you use? Laptop browser? Bluestacks? Android phone?
-What kind of phone did you use to receive the login code? Android or regular phone without apps?
-Which mail account did you use when you created a Facbook or Google account here? Like Yahoo or Tutamail?
Please give me some detailed feedback, this is ruining my life.
If Tinder not working is ruining your life, you need a new one. Jesus H Christ. Mada is a black hole for all that shit, as you have found out. Wait till you leave.
My advice. You don't need to bother. Just get the usual 2 month and ignore the remaining 4. It will all work out when you leave. Trust me.

Getting through immigration at Nosy Be can take a long time but a 'helpful' police officer will assist you for a small bribe – 20,000 normally works.
They then give you a 72 hour stamp and assure you that there will be no problems with leaving but make sure you remember the officer's name.
What the police do not appear able to do with this short-cut route is arrange for a proper pasted-in visa.
On departing they will ask about overstaying your visa at the first police check but tell them that officer 'X' assured you it was OK. At the actual passport check they will again say it is out of date and another small bribe will sort the problem.
This has happened both to me and a friend without any issues.

Just picture: you drive into a police control on the road to Hellville. What you think the police will do? Listen to your story of officer X? No. They will straight take you to their station and most likely back to the airport with a big stamp in your passport never again to come to Mada.
Please stop this practice of paying bribes. Every time you (or someone else) do this it only encourages them more. And you are playing with fire by bypassing the proper immigration procedure. One of these times the guy who is supposed to help you out when you leave won't be there, or his even greedier superior will get involved. You won't be feeling so smart by the time that is all sorted out.

It is surely a matter of making an objective judgement. I have previously refused to pay bribes when crossing the Rwanda-Uganda border but when there is a positive benefit, such as being fast-tracked through immigration, there is a clear benefit.
On an occasion that I refused to tip security guards they complained to the owner of a villa that we had been bringing girls back, they reported us to Airbnb, and I lost my account.
So, yes you are right, we should refuse to give them a bribe or 'soda money' or whatever they call it if they are merely doing their job, but if you are getting an additional benefit it makes sense.
The other option was to spend 40 minutes in the line and paying for the visa. The cost of which was more than the two bribes.
.
You are really an ignorant: you not only need the visa at the border but also at every police control on the road. Thats why you shall carry the passport with you once on the road. Discussed here many times. And the guys will be very happy to get their 13th salary or worse inform immigration and then the shit will hit the fan.
And the issuing of the visa takes nowadays no longer as you need to wait on your luggage.
For all the smart people out there. It is actually printed on the landing card. It's 90 days maximum stay. Then it's bye bye. Fly out to areéunion for 500€ return. Than you can re-enter. Other solutions are illegal. If you run into a control of police nationale they check your visa. If you're caught overstaying it's jail and deportation. The only other way to stay longer than 90 days without leaving Madagascar is you apply for a resident permit. A so called "Visa Long Séjour" which cannot be issued in Madagascar itself. Other solutions exist of course. All illegal.

Fast track to jail. You had a stamp allowing you 72 hours in the country. No proper tourist visa. As Amadeuss and South Easter mentioned. If you stopped by the regular police nationale checkpoint between Dzamandzar and Hell Ville and they find you sans papier. They'll lock you up. As easy as that. The immigration rules are printed on every landing card which you receive and you have to complete. In English. So no excuse there. I've seen smart asses over the years. Most were deported and fleeced out of money.

According to e-visa website you can get e-visa or visa on arrival for max 60 days and extension is permitted as quote below:
You cannot extend your Madagascar e-visa online. However, you can apply for an in-person extension at a Madagascar Immigration Office. Here's what you need to know:
Eligibility: Extensions are granted for up to 90 days, but only before your visa expires. Overstaying incurs fines.
So you will get 60 days and then 90 days and then is bye bye? Or I missing something there?
Nobody I know does eVisa. No advantage. Get VOA. 1 year back they granted only 60 days on arrival. Pain in the a. That's what's meant on the landing card. Extension for 30 days. Now you get 3 months VOA. And that's it. No extension. Maximum allowed stay on a VOA 3 months. The day imprinted on the visa sticker that's the day to leave Madagascar. You can technically fly out and return the next day. You get another 3 months VOA.
La Buse.
The cheaper route is the residence permit. But. They let you jump through a burning hoop. Without french and a good contact / Visa facilitator ZERO chance to get one. And be prepared to spend 3 to 5 months in Tana until your papers are processed.

No, it is your money. If she wasn't going to have sex with you, how long would you spend talking to her? In addition, the more you get to know her the more she will complain about her problems waiting for you to fix them all with your wallet, not you. Best to keep things superficial.

If I then claim that Nosy Be disgusts me and someone gets offended. Ok, this someone had better calm down and respond without offending. I have no relationship with working girls except fucking them. What I don't like is hanging out in places where the girl who comes to my house still smells like the old man's cum that she fucked 1 hour earlier. Nosy Be is this. I, on the other hand, like normal girls. After returning from a week-long business trip to Tana, I would like to share some thoughts that came to me while observing the behavior of various other visitors. I have also read the recent posts.
My summary: Common sense and decency cannot be learned; you can read about them, but some people just don't seem to understand.
It was astonishing how many beauties wanted to enter into a business relationship after eye contact and a smile. I should have bought dark sunglasses.
Paradise.
My business approach.
Opportunities arise everywhere in Madagascar. Look them in the eye, smile, shake hands—and the deal is done.
If they don't smile back, stop and walk away—it's not worth investing any further for good reasons.
You can also find them on Facebook or in the relevant places, but then, with a few exceptions, you will find businesswomen, and they are not my business. Ultimately, everyone gets what they are looking for – with the expected consequences.
Yes, I advertise Mada for my kind of connoisseurs, and they are still welcome.
Listen and learn what not do in Madagascar. Absolutely spot on.

I still like the fascinating lightheartedness of the English guy.
But he seems to have anything but a low profile. That could ultimately be his downfall. I can also imagine that the authorities are watching these videos. Take a look at the construction progress of his villa, I would set the date of his last video to shortly before the house is finished.
Oh yes, arrogance of foreigners towards local laws is another stumbling block. So yes, the guy should stew a little longer. However, I have been told by well-informed sources that the conditions described are above the norm.
I got in touch with a fellow countryman from my region who has also had a house with guest rooms there for years. I'll be visiting him in Nosy soon.
Given the circumstances, I would like to remind you.
The people here are by no means stupid. Certainly, their education is obviously poor or non-existent. On the contrary, their living conditions have trained them in survival techniques that they have mastered better than tourists can imagine. The women, the taxi drivers, whoever, and even the authorities have the knowledge and desire to exploit you beyond your imagination. They also know what 10 Euros means to us. In addition, there are also very wealthy locals. We know the beer index – they know the tourist index.
So try to behave accordingly and enjoy yourself without having to regret it afterwards.

Several times, after a brief encounter with a young lady, I spontaneously accepted her invitation to visit her family a short time later. Each time I was surprised, as I was welcomed as if we had been friends for a long time. Not to mention that I also banged her right away in her room.
However, a voice inside me said every time, could this be a trap? Just assessing the circumstances and knowing human nature.
This evening encounter in Tamatave was no different. I invited her to my place during dinner, but she said she had to go home to her mother and brothers first. We packed another portion of food from the restaurant and went there. Okay, for me, and but she made first a phone call home. We took a pousse pousse and set off. Yes, I thought about it on the way in my head. In the neighborhood, we walked 100 meters through an unlit alley. Yes, even more warning voices inside me. At the same time, reassuring ones.
We came to the courtyard of a colonial villa, where the family lived in an adjoining "chicken coop. " When we entered the shed, there was a mother and three little brothers. Shortly before, perfume must have been sprayed to suppress the stench (One of the brothers was sick; he had a bloody IV in his forearm. The three were around 10 years old. We gave them the food we had brought with us. I gave the mother a little money.
What a disgrace to humanity. Or was it all staged? I don't think so!
We left "the house" and returned to the safety of the main road. Yes, it was moving.
The Pousse Pousse drove off again, back to La Terrasse.
Despite everything, I just wanted to air my dick; I never wear underwear in Mada for various reasons anyway. I unzipped my fly.
She noticed that, took out my hard cock, and started sucking it. The driver noticed this and grinned in the mirror.

Why I don't wear underpants in Mada for various reasons. LOL.
One of the first things I do after arriving in Tana is to get rid of my underpants; he wants to be completely free there. Then I buy a SIM card.
I try all the appealing food wherever I find it, with the exception of the braised chicken heads. This means that I suffer from diarrhoea from time to time, which is no big deal in Mada. I do what the locals do: pull down my trousers and shit wherever the urge strikes.
My third leg always moves that way, and even in the glacier I was given a blow job on the first floor in the corner above the live band. The technicians just grinned and gave me a thumbs up.
Yes, I have decided to improve myself in that point. Safety first.
I've been there twice in late April / Early May. Both times we were completely without power for 4-5 days out of my 8-10 day trip. Is this unusual? Was it just those particular dates that were unlucky or is it typical for any time of year?

Then please don't travel to Mada! Jirama --the power supplier. Is since long bankrupt (or to say better: corruption did make the income disappear). Perhaps your best president of all can send a few oil tankers to them for free. ?

The longest a couple of hours. Since June none to speak of. Water is a different matter. Pipes burst all the time. But most of times I have good water pressure. But sometimes pressure is very low. The longest period I had were a couple of days. In that case I was provided with buckets. But that's only Nosy Be. Many other places in Madagascar it's a lot worse. No water or power for days. Or even months. Expect also power outages after passing cyclones mostly from January till March until services are restored it can take days. Or weeks.

Anyone that is on the ground, either in Tana or coastal cities, it would be good to hear a first hand report on the situation.
Tana exploded on Thursday night, with protests against the power and water shortages, airport was closed, all international flights canceled (at least departing flights and I assume entering), curfew instated, and there are reports of numerous deaths after police and military opened up on protesters. News reports claim only rubber bullets and tear gas, but I saw at least one report about dead with AK-47 like wounds at a hospital, and a contact in Tana told me they saw dead on the ground being collected in the morning. On Friday I understand that the airport is still closed and more protests are planned for the night near the airport despite the curfew that was imposed on Thursday night. Today also I hear that protests are occurring throughout the country, Toliara, Mahajanga and other towns, but Nosy Be was calm.

Tana Waterfront shopping centre was ransacked completely. All the Cosmos stores in Tana Majunga and TuléAR were cleaned out of consumer electronics and bikes. Several new stations of the pet project of the DJ, the new Cable car were damaged too. My vazaha friends in Tana are holed up, waiting for the protests to die down. The church and the DJ prayed for calm. The only place unaffected was Nosy Be. There's water and electricity. LOL. The timing was interesting. After the SADC conference. And the DJ is in New York at the UNGA. Of course it's only on the surface about water and electricity. People are tired of the DJ. They want to get rid of him. The question is? Who's going to replace him??

Except a few vendors Analakely is still in shutdown. But quiet. Out at the university in Ankatso student protests ongoing. So called GenZ movement like in Kenya boasting a skull and bones sporting a Betsileo cap LOL. TNR airport should be open and operational. Air France from CDG was cancelled. As long as the nightly curfew is in place flights arriving very late or very early are cancelled. Ethiopian should make it. Air France not sure. Check FB. Madagascar Expats group for updates as well as Orange actu and midi Madagasikara. If your flight is flying I would take it. Worst can happen stay at the airport at Manoir rouge for example.

I was in Hell Ville today. Quiet. Only Leader price still closed and major car dealers.
Leader price reopened all it's stores as of today. Ankatso calm. City centre Tana most businesses remain closed. Police everywhere. The DJ dismissed the whole government to appease the population. Today morning demonstration ongoing of students in Mahajanga. Tana on the whole seems to calm down. Not sure if the nightly curfew was lifted. No news of today's flight being affected. But I assume flights arrive as planned. Internal flights not sure. Official tally of dead now risen to 10 people. If you avoid Tana centre in the next days you should be fine. Police and Gendarmerie joined in the looting. LOL. It was one big free for all. Nosy Be normal.

La Buse.
Thanks for the updates guys. After canceled flights during the first few days of this, people I know were able to fly domestically into Tana and leave Tana internationally to African airports during the weekend. I have not heard about Air France and Europe. I have also heard similar word that it is calming down, but not over yet. I guess we will see what develops over the next few weeks, if this is a sustained movement to unseat the DJ. I know from my Malagasy friends that the tension has really been building against this govt for years, and this was bound to happen eventually. The shortages of electricity and water tipped the population over the edge. I am not sure it will recede very easily. The people of this country are generally so non-confrontational, so when this happens it is dramatic.
Thanks for the updates guys. We shall see. I am on Ethiopian so sounds promising. Now to see if the domestic flights are going. Supposed to fly to Tulear the next day. I will give an update of my own in a day or 2 and let you all know what I experienced.
Avoid Tana city centre for the foreseeable future. Today and yesterday GenZ Protests ongoing. Supermarkets reopened. Curfew will stay in place for the time being. 8 pm to 4 am. That means all scheduled flights arriving during curfew hours are cancelled. Domestic and international. AF is flying now via Reunion and is arriving during day hours. Emirates today cancelled. Domestic flights are a mess. Down to luck right now. In several big towns Diego Tamatave Majunga TuléAR curfew also remains in place. Different timing though. They want the DJ to resign. He mostly will try to sit it out. He and his shadow man Rakatomanga are already loading assets onto planes. Just in case.

Sorry but there will be no arrival update from me. Whole trip derailed due to health issues. Maybe a couple weeks, maybe next year.
Fuck this is going to be expensive! OTOH hopefully all this shit will have calmed down by the time I give it another go.
Back to France now.
Spent 2 weeks in Nosy Be, then 4 days in Tana. The last days in Tana reminded me the COVID lockdown. Restaurants closed at 6 pm, then curfew at 7 pm, meaning you have to order your diner before 6 pm, and eat in your hotel room. You'd better have phone numbers to organize your company, or it will be a TV evening alone with your hand. All nightlife is closed.
As I stayed at the Pousse Pousse hotel, I used to order a chicken salad and fruits from Buffet du Jardin, packed to take away. Many restaurants closed, even for lunch. La petite Brasserie was open until 6 pm.
Diego was hot too, so you should avoid.
Only Nosy Be stayed 'normal', even the airport always opened, and flights still active (except for / from Tana after 5 pm).
Party every night at Ambatoloaka, Taxi Be and Afro Bar always packed with girls. I had the pleasure to meet Neddy, but didn't have time to drink a beer, due to my very busy planning with my kenyan GF and friends. My bad! Next time Neddy!
Conclusion: avoid Tana. Go straight to Nosy Be, and stay there.
French in Madagascar. News from 02/10/25 AT 8 PM🇲127468;.
Safety of people and property: Demonstrations are planned for tomorrow, Friday, 03/10/2025, in major provincial cities and the capital, where gathering points are planned on all roads leading from the outskirts to the city center. Traffic could be very difficult. Limit your movements and stay away from any gatherings. Keep useful numbers with you: police, gendarmerie, ambulance, fire department, consulate, etc.
Curfew:
O Antananarivo: 8 pm - 4 am.
O Antsirabe: 8 pm - 4 am.
O Diego: 10 pm - 4 am.
O Majunga: 10 pm - 4:30 am.
O Sambava: 9 pm - 4 am.
O Tamatave: 7 pm - 5 am.
O TuléAR: 10 pm - 4 am.
INTERNATIONAL transport:
AIR France: Flights postponed and modified as follows:
- Departure from Paris (CDG) on October 2nd and 3rd at 8:30 PM (EST: 7:30 PM) via reunion (RUN) and scheduled to land in Ivato (TNR) at 11:05 AM.
- Departure from TNR on October 3rd and 4th at 2:00 PM via RUN for CDG the following day at 3:35 AM.
Very unlikely this will end quickly. The DJ clearly stated that he will not vacate his seat.
Avoid ALL big towns. No nightlife to be had. Most businesses restaurants limited service or closed. The only places no affected to my knowledge are:
Nosy Be.
Isle St. Marie.
Fianarantsoa.
Antsirabe.
Ft. Dauphin.
Smaller towns.
But NOT Sava Sambava. People are fed up with government control of vanilla prices.
Advise to postpone your trips. If this continues longer. Places will run out of everything. Starting with fuel. Cash. Food. Even Nosy Be is already affected. No fresh produce coming in from the Haute plateau.

I think December it should have calmed down that you will be fine. If this shit is still happening 2 months from now the place has bigger issues.
I read Economist article of the demonstrations. It is one week old so not latest information, but it has lot of info of Madagascar. It is long, so just skip if not interested.
To see why thousands have taken to the streets of Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, in recent days, look up from the demonstrations to the cable car that dangles above the city. The line, which was finished this year thanks to financing from France, is meant to ease congestion. But repeated power cuts mean it rarely works. As a result, the city resembles the world's worst ski resort.
Even when electricity is flowing, at the equivalent of one euro for a short ride the cable cars are about six times the cost of a bus ride and more than many Malagasy people spend on food in a day. "It has become an attraction, not a mode of transport," admits an official.
Several cable-car stations were set on fire during the largest protests the country has seen in more than 15 years. The demonstrators say they are fed up with persistent power cuts, water shortages and rampant corruption. They want Andry Rajoelina, the president, a pedlar of herbal cures for covid-19 and former dj, to resign. Mamy Ravatomanga, a businessman seen by protesters as the power behind the throne, is another target. So far, Mr Rajoelina has responded by sacking his entire cabinet, imposing a dawn-to-dusk curfew and having security forces crack down on crowds.
The protesters feel a kinship with other youthful activists. Some invoke anti-government movements in Kenya. Others wave the same pirate flag used recently in Indonesia and Nepal. Yet their frustrations stem from home-grown problems. Since 1960, when French rule ended, GDP per person has shrunk by almost a half, the largest fall of any nation without a civil war. The demonstrations are the work of Generation z, but their grievances have been decades in the making.
On the face of it, there are simple economic explanations for why Madagascar is so poor. The vast majority of workers are subsistence farmers. Their productivity and incomes are "trending down", notes the World Bank, partly because of deteriorating soil conditions brought on by drought and deforestation. While the population has grown from 5 m to 32 m since 1960, forest coverage has fallen from 33 m hectares to 6 m, according to a diplomat.
To visit a village in Madagascar can involve not only a journey of several miles from a main road but also, seemingly, in time. Ox-carts trundle past, occasionally overtaking girls carrying pails of water. A straw poll by your correspondent suggests many Malagasy have not heard of Mr Rajoelina or Donald Trump. It would take more than 70 years at recent growth rates for Madagascan living standards to catch up with those of Rwanda and Uganda, which are in the bottom half of African countries by GDP per person.
Basic infrastructure is calamitous. There are perhaps half as many paved roads as there were in 1960. On a recent journey around the north of the country two dry riverbeds had to be driven across because bridges were out of action. It costs more to take goods from Antananarivo to Tamatave, a port 200 km away, than it does to then ship the produce to France.
Worsening rural poverty and fast population growth have caused a surge of migration to cities, especially the capital. That has added to pressure on ageing power and water systems as well as on housing. On the outskirts of Antananarivo ad hoc developers are building amphibious slums on top of paddy fields.
Many of Madagascar's difficulties stem from the disastrous socialist experiments under Didier Ratsiraka, president from 1975 to 1993 (and again from 1997 to 2002), whom the cia thought wanted to turn the island into North Korea. "But the problem goes beyond economics," says an economist in Antananarivo.
Madagascar, argues Denis Alexandre Lahiniriko of the University of Antananarivo, has failed to do two big things. The first is to foster a common identity among its roughly 20 ethnic groups, which can be crudely divided between those of south-east Asian origin in the interior and coastal peoples with mainland African roots. The second is to build a state that benefits ordinary people, not just a narrow elite. One civil servant says that corruption is so routine that she regularly has to decline envelopes of cash from businessmen from China or other African countries. A politician says that his family would disown him if he did not steer patronage their way.
"We are a mafia state," adds Ketakandriana Rafitoson, an anti-graft campaigner. One consequence of Madagascar's renowned natural splendour is that there is no end to the things that can be trafficked through deals between corrupt locals and foreign buyers. The goods that have reportedly been part of criminal enterprises include gold, lychees, vanilla, rosewood, tortoises and the island's endemic lemurs. In 2023 a British court found Mr Rajoelina's former chief of staff guilty of soliciting bribes from a gem-mining firm. "It is a treasure island plundered by pirates," says a locally based analyst.
Maybe death isn't darkness.
Given the poverty, some visitors wonder why Malagasy have put up with their lot for so long. One reason is surely the repression that can be meted out to those who upset the powerful. But another theory is that some Malagasy care more about the afterlife than life on earth. In the south it is common for people to spend more on their tombs than their houses and to kill herds of zebu (cattle) upon death. "The attitude is that you can be poor until you are dead," says a journalist from the region. In the central highlands the practice of famadihana ("turning of the bones" where corpses are exhumed from tombs in costly ceremonies to appease the family's ancestors, is another example of how rituals related to death can eat into household budgets.
Yet such practices may be more of an effect of poverty than a cause. The protests that threaten to topple the government are a reminder that Malagasy are willing to take to the streets. In 2009 demonstrations against the elected president, Marc Ravalomanana, led indirectly to a military coup that ultimately brought Mr Rajoelina to power for the first of three terms in office.
Is Mr Rajoelina heading for a similar fate? At the time of writing there were reports of some soldiers joining the protests. Much depends on whether the army's leaders side with the street or the president. Like his beloved cable cars, the president's reign appears to be hanging by a thread.
Hi everyone. I'm planning a two-week trip to Madagascar at the end of December and would be grateful for some advice. I want to fly to Tana and then travel around, maybe taking a flight to the south and then going back by taxi-brousse stopping by towns on the way.
What would be a good destination in the South to go to? On the map I see Toliara and Taolagnaro. Which would you recommend?
Does accommodation fill up around the holiday season? I've had trouble finding rooms in other countries in late December and want to avoid being stuck without a place to sleep. Do you recommend booking everything in advance, or is it safe to leave some nights flexible?
My French is about what you'd expect from one semester at university a while back.

Take flight to Toliara spend a week there and Mangily and go back by Cotisse on the RN 7 via Fianarantsoa and Antsirabe. That's about it. Taloagnaro is impossible by road. I never book anything in advance. There's plenty of accommodation available. Obviously the best places are NOT on booking. Be back in Tana at least 48 hours before your international flight departs. Some french is sufficient.

My opinion only and I am sure many veterans will disagree but I do not find many Mada girls especially attractive. There are 2 main types over most of the country, long and lean and tending to fatter. There are of course plenty in between. Most girls facially do not stun. There are plenty of cuties and pretty girls but not that many outright beauties. You will find some in Nosy Be but as has been mentioned here before the really attractive girls are becoming aware of their worth. Or at least what they can fleece out of 2 weeks millionaires. I would say if you like slender pretty girls with small tits it' IS paradise. Other body types not so much. As I said my personal opinion only. Only one way to find out. GO.

In Ethiopia you can forget about GFE and good attitude. The only thing going for Ethiopia is looks.
The only thing Ethiopia has over Madagascar is looks. Me personally I hate fucking with condoms. Okamoto 0.01 is the only compromise. Madagascar is paradise for bareback.
And food in Madagascar is better. I have been to Uganda and Kenya too but they have declined a lot in the last 15 years. Madagascar has not degraded the same way.
The only place I would be satisfied with looks is probably Sao Paulo and Europe because even in Rio I was disappointed with the "quality".
I plan to test Kigali and Gisenyi next. I generally prefer women with more curves then what you on average get in Madagascar.
The best women for the body type I prefer are found in Angola but there is the issue of language + cost + security.
When I visited South America the women that had roots in Angola had the hottest bodies and but facial features and Africa is a hard nut to crack.

Ethiopian apparently still flying (African airline LOL) for them coups don't bother them. Two of the closest allies of the DJ jetted out of Ivato in a business jet without clearance. Rumors abound. Any recent news? Airport will be closed after new president nomination? What's the situation on the ground?
Everyone has surely already formed their own opinion about the situation. What upsets me is the arrogant development aid mentality of many countries. This also applies to their so-called foreign aid workers on the ground, who are work-shy good-for-nothings in their countries of origin. Ultimately, it is nothing more than self-interest. Ultimately, they are the root of all evil. The cable car project was mentioned, and the same applies to the light rail project in Tana. I looked at both. It was immediately clear to me during the next power cut that it would never work. Some are allowed to dispose of their old trains at development costs and others to place an order at the state's expense. It was therefore clear to any critical layman that both would fail. But the companies and politicians involved in Europe and Madagascar have enriched themselves handsomely, and that is all that matters and has always mattered. Really sobering.
Greetings gents,
I will keep this short. As an English, non French speaking individual with no direct flights into Madagascar from my home country, is it worth me going or should I just stick to English speaking African countries like Kenya?
I'll add that I have done Morocco, which was a French colony with great success, but where I am from, a plane ticket is only 150 euros, and the Moroccan girls can understand a little English.
Thanks.
If you can fly direct to Nosy Be, you may go. Otherwise, if you have to fly to Tana, then it's not advisable for the time being given the political and social situation there right now.
Even if you do land in Tana, it will be very difficult to fly to other cities such Toamasina, Majunga or Toliara because of flight disruption.
So your best option will be Nosy Be for the time being. Or you will have to wait for some time.
Regarding language, you can still use an translation application on your mobile.
It does not seem to be as bad as one might expect with all the turmoil in the country. I had booked 4 different flights before I arrived. Tana to Tulear Oct 2 and return Oct 16 as well as Tana to Diego Oct 18 and return Oct 31. So far as I can tell the first 3 have not been cancelled although 2 of the 3 had time changes of 6 hours and 2 hours. I do not know how the one on the 31st is going to turn out because I have missed them all since I became seriously ill before I even arrived in Mada and wrote the entire trip off. That said, who knows what is going to happen in the future. As Manfield mentioned Nosy Be is probably still OK but internal travel could fuck up completely at any time. If I had the choice I would probably wait a while and see what is going to happen.
Situation back to 'normal' since Saturday: no more lockdown, and flights at Tana back to normal too.

A temporary president is residing, not able to call for elections within the 60 day schedule as demanded by the constitution.
Gen Z wants big changes of the constitution. But the forces behind want to stick with the old French style where the Prime Minister can enforce the passage of laws without a vote in Parliament like a dictator.
A lot of international support money does no longer flow.
Once all this is settled, I would consider it getting normal.
However, NosyPattaya remains untouched from the misery as if it does not belong to Madagascar.

What does that mean? Right now police army and gendarmerie getting still paid. Wait until they don't get salaries. Then there will be lawlessness abound. In the bad old days army walking into stores robbing the cash register in broad daylight. Right now a lot of want to be investors are getting cold feet. A lot of Karane specially with Mauritian passports took off for the time being. For now GenZ is content. But. There's a big but. While the new president is actually a Bara the new prime minister chosen by parliament was too close to the DJ.

Regarding the 'normal situation', of course I was not talking about the country political situation. I was talking about our national sport: no more lockdown, and all restaurants, bars, taxi be, and others are open.
Gents,
Thanks for your input, but I think we got a bit distracted. To put into context, I am not a French speaker, and the only carrier near me which flies directly into Nosy be is Neos out of Milan, which means I would need to connect in the first instance.
I wanted to know, if it were worth my time travelling there when there is Kenya and Morocco available to me, in the context of a punting holiday. I do love the look of the Madagascan girls.
Given we have no idea about your finances and preferences it is impossible to give an answer. What is your budget? How fancy a hotel do you need? What kind of food do you like? Do you fancy fat girls, skinny girls? Can you speak 2 words of French? Are you prepared for a 30 hour journey from hell on a taxi brousse if you are too cheap to fly?
Start by reading the last 200 posts. All of that information is there. Then come back with some questions. Ultimately no one can decide for you. Give it a go or not.

Its not over yet: Doctors at Be Hospital in Toliara have not entered the emergency room for two weeks. They are demanding better conditions and a reasonable salary. And so it goes over the whole country. Just watch your back if you travel round. But a crisis can create opportunities. LOL.
My trip to Madagascar was very interesting, I was surprised by how poorly French was spoken in that country. Believe it or not it's considered a part of Africa thus the infrastructure is terrible there. Lots of beggars, seedy looking cops, I mainly ate at a KFC that most locals can't even afford to eat from it wasn't like it was very expensive but for the locals $5 meal is too much especially reconsidering some make barely 1. 50 per day doing backbreaking labor! The food I strongly recommend eating from a rich area period! So on too pussy downtown was flooded with hookers at night, local price given: 9000 AR expect to be asked for 45000 AR by the women if you're a foreigner. The women were very accommodating during sex overall no rushed services. I noticed a lot of women was trying to allure me to their rooms with a promise of no condom sex or anal sex. I had several issues with women trying to pick my pockets. Pimps and police are present in the red light areas it was hard to tell what street I was on because people will remove the street signs. Some areas wasn't lit at all I remember walking down the streets getting cat called by women lurking in the shadows. The women there on the average do not have big ass they seems to not able to produce one like. Hygiene was equally bad among the Asian, Blasian and black women of that country not everyone stinks but some folks shower and wash their clothes in very dirty water! I didn't have no issues paying bribes to police officers. I found it weird I had to say something in French and use sign language in order to communicate with the locals. There's plenty of thieves and robbers in that country if you're not used to an urban environment I strongly recommend you not taking the street action route. Another thing I wanted to mention the ATMs they do have in that country don't have any money in them lucky for me I hide my cash I bring with me very well just in case of an emergencies.
I wouldn't recommend coming to that country for mongering, you get a strong sense of danger driving through certain neighborhoods in a taxi. A few people there speak damn good English and you can hire some of these people as a guide. Kenya is better option but then again that country has security challenges also. I returned back to Nairobi a city that's now up selling the hell out of foreigners for BJ's, position changes and blah blah blah! The people in Kenya don't speak English that good and most can't read it well neither Kiswahili is the national language. Madagascar Malagasy is the national language that everyone is required to learn. It's more helpful picking up a book on that language.

Regardless of all that, that country been fucked up before Europeans set foot on that ***** just like the rest of Africa.
Situation back to 'normal' since Saturday: no more lockdown, and flights at Tana back to normal too.
Countries like Uganda and Kenya those women look ugly and hideous because before and after colonization incest was considered cultural appropriation for many tribes in those countries I found that out when I went to Uganda for the fist time. My only complaint about Malagasy women are that they don't have much a big behind on the average to play with and also they shower in dirty water if not that they stink in generally. Hey beggars can't be choosers in 2025.
I am travelling to Africa, and I was looking around to check for a new destination. And you all describe Madagascar as a paradise, so I was considering. But I checked on Google Images for some pics, and I can't see any hot girls. I have been twice in Uganda, and I am considering going there again for a couple of weeks, but then I could possible go to Addis Ababa instead. I like Eritrean girls, I have a seen a few hotties in Kampala, and Ethiopian are not so different. What can you tell me about the girls in Nosi Be?
I am sure it is easy and cheap, but let's talk about quality. Ugandan girls, for example, aren't so hot.
I hardly know where to begin. Some of the things you say are fairly accurate. On the other hand, I have been to Mada 6 or 7 times and it mostly reads like we were in two different countries. And where the hell are the KFCs? For 5 bucks you can eat a good meal at many French run places and even some Malagasy owned do a creditable job. Granted I missed my trip this year but I have never even seen one in Tana, let alone the rest of the country.
I stand corrected. They do have KFC! I guess you can tell how little regard I have for them that I didn't know, or care! Fill your boots. I'll take a medium rare zebu tenderloin with pepper sauce.
I'll take a medium rare zebu tenderloin with pepper sauce.
Eating at KFC in Mada... 🙄 C'mon, experience the french food or even the local spots. If you know good 'gargotte' where to go (in Ambatoloaka), you can eat zebu skewers, coco rice, and a slice of fruit for 10.000 ariary. Not for 1, but for 4 people! Much better than KFC and never had stomach issues!
At MwenByen.
Thanks for the insight. Based on the cost involved and apparent lack of safety, I've decided I won't bother and just stick to Morocco. I require a certain level of comfort on my holiday tours. I could imagine Thailand in the early 90's was much the same as Nosy Be now. Can it get better? Who knows, maybe not considering the work ethic, or lack of it.
If things ever get better in the future, I may revisit the idea of visiting there.

Wouldn't the KFC have been trashed anyway along with the rest of the Tana Waterfront shops? It seems the Radisson hotels in there came out ok, though.
Wouldn't the KFC have been trashed anyway along with the rest of the Tana Waterfront shops? Like Tana Waterfront. Some people were paid to take out businesses belonging to unwanted competition. Notably the ethnic Indians and Chinese. You pay little money to pay some goons.
Who in his right mind eats at KFC? No one. Except a few rich Malagasy and US Embassy personnel. And some clueless sex tourists afraid to get food poisoning. Stay away. The best you can do. We don't need you here. The most popular fast food place in Madagascar is Pizza Gastronomy.

Plenty of places. Which I'll not write about of course. Nosy Be is not Madagascar. It's an Island off the mainland befallen from a disease called tourism. Buildings are going up as if there's no tomorrow. The character of a once charming island will soon be gone. But I'll continue to travel. If another westerner with their typical lazy ass mindset keep pushing the so called economic growth (opening the flood gates of foreign money) to countries as Mada, it won't change the people or their mindset. Instead, it will cramp the prices up ridiculously in the service industry catch up to the price hikes (including adult entertainment industry). And the Mada we once knew will ceased to exist. Kudos to all the experienced members who don't put the hidden gems in this forum or anywhere in social media.
Also the new developments will not target the locals as their primary market but the tourists. It's the same thing UN being doing for ages. Flooding the poor countries with unsustainable debts that their own people could not live their anymore. We all fly to mada for one main reason. You can't have both. You can't have cheap pussy and noble white night tourist mentality at the same time. That's what you have done to Bali, Phil and Thailand.
They travel to SEA and then wife a ho who have been banged more times than Steve wonder's toes and then complain why they can't make it in their own country. They sell their belongings and fuck up big times in Asia. It's been happening in Mada a lot with the new tourist boom. I am kinda glad Nosy Be and Mada main island isn't the same.
Anyone doing any mongering in Madagascar?
The political and economic discussions are fascinating, but I'm interested in reports about conditions on the ground today.
I am looking for a mongering destination where French is spoken.

In Ambatoloaka prices start upwards 30 to 80€ a night if you want 24 hours power and maybe Aircon if the generator is strong enough. No need to speak French. Just say fair l amour to anything which walks around looking hot. Prices for hot ones are approaching 40€ + or 200 k MGA. This country is one of the last frontiers in the world to get away with affordable child sex tourism. I really didn't want to say it initially but that what goes down there despite the fact they got a law on castaration if you participate in the activities. Some areas are extremely nice and then you walk a kilometer then you're literally in shut town almost like someone dropped an atomic bomb in that area. And the food here sucks, plenty of faggots, trannies trying to get a piece of the pie too. On the plus side word spreads quickly if you got a big dick you're going to start to garner a bunch of unwanted attention.
Finally seeing the numerous exotic species of lemurs are pretty cool.
Haha your sarcasm is great! 40 euro for hot ones? Its still possible for 40.000 MGA! But let me write a good advice if you prefer durex condoms bring as many as you can because it is so expensive in Ambatoloaka!

Maybe this is all just bullshit for the internet and potential social media backlash. The situation on the ground may well be more welcoming in person. I would book one night somewhere and find out for sure. If you don't like the setup, move on the next morning. If this is true and becoming a trend what is to become of Nosy Be's rasion d'etre? Chase off all the guys looking for poon in exchange for middle class families from Marseilles? Can't really see it, at least not yet.

Too many girls coming from all parts of Mada to NB to search for old vahaza and have sex for money. (. as if it is new.) The discussion goes that the problem starts from local boys, fucking the girls in very young age (14.15. 16), getting them pregnant and then run away. The replies are that it's the fault of the government not to offer them education options to find a job. The discussions are sometimes quite heated with the result to make more people observant: single white men = sex tourist with sexual diseases. Don't get in touch with those bad creatures.
No wonder that hotels, which cater for "good travellers", want to avoid any comments in their history that their place is used for prostitution. Until now, NosyBe was known as a place with good beach and nice diving sports for the general tourist. But the red light district is getting bigger and louder and cannot be overseen any more.
NosyBe will have the same reputation as Pattaya.
Probably most people plan their trips in advance, especially for December, but I'm considering a last minute getaway to nosy be
-I am looking up hotels but those on the guest friendly list seem to be booked. Any suggestions? (guest friendly).
-Also, I am curious what people do for money (payment method) there, are you fine just taking a credit card and withdrawing money? Or do most people take euros along?
If its too late, that's fine, but would be curious what you would do.
I speak French so that may be fine, I hope.
I think Amadeuss sums up the situation nicely. Too much attention influencing decisions on the ground. Happened in Cambodia 20 years ago in a big way. And we have seen what became of it. I am there now and it's fucked. And unfortunately it looks like the Pattaya. Ization is well under way. What a pity. Doesn't matter much to me. I've never liked it and no need for me to visit again.
On another note "The discussion goes that the problem starts from local boys, fucking the girls in very young age (14.15. 16), getting them pregnant and then run away. " This could have been written about the PI and it would be spot on. Still going on. And another place that's fucked. Sigh.
