Seems some don't want the newbies in the Centro strip clubs, but keep them. The rooms are nasty. God help you if a fire breaks out while you are locked up in the attic at Bara Ejectiva. The neighborhood is depressing at night to say the least, plus plucking a diamond out of the rough can be a chore.

Most of us are never going to be fluent in Spanish so the phone / translator is going to come out at times, especially if the girl keeps talking fast. I've used the translator on well over 100 occasions and got adequate to excellent service. I've kept my phone in my pocket a number of times and gotten a bad deal. No doubt your conclusion sounds good to many ears but it doesn't follow from the evidence. There's bad putas out there, plus they know foreigners regardless of how good their Spanish is.

Will be heading to Medellin. It has been recommended to use a credit card with no transaction fees when possible for best rates. Anyone recommend any one specific for Colombia. Also any bank that will not charge a big transaction fee when using the ATM machines. Also what bank's ATM should I use once I'm there. I tend to exchange cash but as it has been pointed out, it seems like I'm losing some money by doing that. Been to Medellin 3 times and would be happy to answer any other question.
