Looks like it might be good diving and non-pro action, or just a good side trip for a day or two. Anyone been there?

I first mongered in Recife in 2002. I did not find the clubs or the street action very appealing. I used the ads in newspaper. I found a very good looking garota, though medicore attitude, by that means. Those who have had difficulty finding suitable garotas in Recife should try that method next time.

For the guy who stayed in Piedade, there is a club with good reports located there. Cafe Cuba is supposed to have very good looking dancers. I have seen many of their advertisements in Boa Viagem. I have not yet been there for lack of opportunity.

I went there in June 2005 with a girlfriend. There seems to be very little action there of any type. It is a tourist town that caters to families. Outside the town, along the beach, are the beach front homes of wealthy Brazilians.

I did not see any scuba diving shops. The main clam to fame are the natural pools in the reefs off shore, and the sand dunes nearby. Many jangoeiros will take you out to the pools for you to swim in and feed the fish there. There are also LOTS of dune buggy drivers hustling you to take a trip out to the sand dunes. The minimum price was $R80 for the trip. We didn't take it.

We did take a bus to a small town (I forget its name.) not far away, and hung out at the beach there. There were huge sand dunes there too and a guy that gave camel rides. He had 8 camels.

It is worth a 2-day side trip with if you go someone. Do not look for anyone there.

Arrived from Salvador to Recife.

Recife beach scene was nice but not bussling. Met a girl who wanted to sit next to me at the table. Long hair, curvy and great butt. Took her directly from the beach to my room. She said she would be available again that night but I did not call her.

Seen many young American guys on the beach, this was a first. I never see Americans outside of Coppacabanna in Rio.
There were some very nice looking women on the beach but definitely TOP notch (PRO's. 10's)

I met a taxi driver named Ronaldo, hired him for the day. We drove to Onlinda and I was invited to a social club called "Pires". Excellent mix of young Brasilians and the atmosphere was very comfortable. I met a woman named Ingrid. Very nice woman, has a 12 yr old boy. She cooks in a Restaurant that is popular in Olinda.

We had a great conversation, and we went for a walk ran into some friends of hers that had recently traveled to the States. They had traveled to Boston and Newark. They invited us to dinner and I were telling Ingrid in Portuguese that I was the guy for her. (marriage?)

I had to consider whether to spend my few days with Ingrid or go scout Recife. I had to make this call on previos trips. I have seen Recife before but every time I visit I like to venture out further and further into the rural areas.

I just like the traveling, not the hassle of the prostitutes. Meeting regular women takes longer and for sure cost you more in money and time.

Ingrid and I went to her friends apartment for dinner and we had a very nice time. We really had a good time. I didn't feel the pressure of her looking for an American that she could co-hab with for a couple of days.

After dinner I invited Ingrid back to my place for a walk on the beach and a drink in my room. She decined. As we took the taxi up to her little small house, I could see the lights on the hills of the flavela.

I did not want to get out of the taxi in this area. I have been to flavelas before but I was not looking forward to this place because her place was far inside the flavela. My thing was to say goodbye from the taxi.

As the taxi drives around these curves and down these dirt street you could see young guys and girls standing out dancing and having fun.

We arrive at her house, which is small, very small. And she calls her son out to meet me and she invites me into her home. A corwd of women starts gathering around looking at the gringo in there area.

She begged me to stay and that I would have no problem in the area. I was very worried the taxi driver kept assuring me that the area was nice and that his wife's family members lived not to far up the road.

Like an idot I let the taxi driver drive away and I accepted her offer to sleep over. We were inside and I heard a knock at the door and my heart started racing. This small house has no back door and were do I run, there is no street lights and there are packs of 4-5 kids standing at houses talking or kicking a ball.

At the door was her friends from 2 doors down and they wanted to me the American. These women were fine as hell but we were stand in the front of the house and I wanted to get inside and close the f*kin door. As we talked I loosened up and the fear abated. We watched some TV and I slept in her son's bed. Yes, I was not scared at all. She knew everyone in the area. She had taken pictures with many Brasilian celebs. In the night I walk into her room if you call it a room and I climb onto her small bed. We kiss, kiss more and I start to make my moves. Everything is perfect I get the panties off.
She stops me and ask in a soft portuguesse " You hav a condom" .

No I did not bring a condom with me. I did not bring a condom. So she gives me head. The head was horrible because I was not going to bang this ass tonight. She sucked for 30 mins but I couldn't cum. Long story, I stayed another night, w/o hanging out with Ingrid. I told her I was leaving the following week. The following night I went to Club Mar which was a joke. I tapped a shorty Anna. Big leggs and thin waist, I rate her an 8. Cost $R210. Not worth it.

I let Recife heading to Natal to enjoy the beach.

I am going to be spending 3 weeks in Brazil. I am flying into Natal.

At this stage I am thinking of checking out Olinda for carnival. I know I have left it late and getting accommodation will be murder but does anyone have any ideas? I can seen a few (booked) hotels but apartments seem non-existant.

I have a quote of R5,000 for the 5 days from one hotel. However, even if I could get over the price I figure I won't be able to have much fun in a top hotel.

Back up plan is that I just stay in Recife but even that will be hard.

I have travelled in Brazil before but still don't fancy just turning up without good info.

IMHO Recife really isn´t worth a visit. The city of Recife is quite ugly. The beach in Boa Viagem is very bad. I think the standard of the women in Recife must be the lowest in the North-East.

Sampa Night Club: Small but pleasant club. Some good-looking girls. Several with bad attitudes. Overcharging, asking for R$ 150.

Bamboo: Small and dark club. Very bad selection of girls.

Bar Maria Bonita: Simple bar located at Praca Boa Viagem. Average standard of the girls are bad with some nice exceptions. R$ 50/2 hours. Worth checking out.

Avenida Conselheiro Aguiar: The onlything I really liked in Recife was the streetwalkers on Cons Aguiar. Some of them very beautiful. Asking for R$ 40-50. Be careful with the girls working without ID.

Non-pro action: head to centro.

I agree with Spertos conclusion about Boa viagem and Sampa. I have been to both clubs and the girls there are nothing special. Would not be worth paying anything over 150R. The clubs are also very small and nowhere to hide. I always compare to Help in Rio.

Overall Recife is not really a place to monger and best to try and relax by the beach. Beware the beach on Boa Viagem has a high risk of being prone to shark attack. follow the locals or brave dippers at your own risk.

Thank heavens I am leaving Recife this afternoon and flying into Rio. I will be in Porto Alegre after that and will be hooking up with a local who has told me he knows the ins and outs so I´ll be sure to report.

The Avenida Conselheiro Aguiar is parallel to the Boa Viagem beach. Asking price R$50, you can negotiate down from there to R30 or less. Look for groups of girls. Maybe hire a cab to take you touring, since they pass them about 20 times a day it will be a time and energy saver.

I have been to Club Nocturno, and liked the scene there. It is very informal. There is a stage but few garotas did any strip shows the night thatI went. It was a special night called "Noche de Topless". All the ladies were topless and walking around in just thongs. They would sit beside you, ask you to buy them drinks, while you fondled and kissed them. They would offer to go upstairs with you, where the club has rooms. I didn't find anything I wanted to spend lots of money but I did want to go back there.

The problem I ran into when I returned to Recife is that they passed a law prohibiting private mini vans from operating. These vans would run around the clock, so you could take them when the regular buses stopped running at midnight. Nocturno is in the downtown part of the city, Boa Vista. The tourist area with the beach and hotels is in Boa Viagem. Now you have to take a taxi back to your hotel in Boa Viagem and that could cost R$30-40 because it is not a hop, skip, and jump between Boa Viagem and Boa Vista.

On my last trip to Recife, over Christmas, I saw a club that advertised sex shows along the route from the airport to my hotel. I couldn't find out what it was on that trip. I am very glad that Sunset posted about it. My job is rlated to educaiton so I get some days off for Spring Break. I am heading back during that time, but I don't know if I will get a chance to visit the Talisman. If I do, I'll report on it too.
