I am planning on visiting Ghana in November. Could anybody suggest the least expencive hotel with AC+TV in Accra? What is the range of prices for this kind of accomodation generally in Accra?

I see that some people are taking cell phones to give away vs. cash. That seems imprudent but, I am curious nontheless. When I was in Ghana, the foreigners living there used satellite phones vs. cell phones. The last time I was there was 2004. Has things changed so that you can use cellphones? If so, are they so expensive in Ghana that you can't buy them in Ghana? Do you need a European phone or American phone?

You will have to fight them off.

I regularly stay either in 'Niagara' (Adabraka), 'Frankie's' or 'Byblos' (both in Osu). All with TV and great aircon, plus - very important - clean and girl friendly! Price: about 50 USD per night. If you like more nightlife Osu might be the better choice.

I've paid as little as less than the equivalent of $5.00. If you pick up a pro from Macumba, maybe the equivalent of $20-$30. The hottest looking, best dressed pro will be a professional room thief. You really don't need to pay outright, however. The biggest problem I had was getting rid of her. Always usr Cedi. Any demonination less than $100 is utterly useless in Ghana.

On July 1, Ghana dropped 4 zeros off their currency. Now it's called the Ghana Cedi whereas before it was just plain old Cedi. right now, the exchange rate on the street is approx .93/.96 buy/sell rate to the USD.

A pro is generally more expensive than a non-pro.

For a pro that you pick up at Joker's, Aquarius, and those types of places, you're looking at roughly GHC30 which is approx $33. Just remember to negotiate as they will ask for as much as the market will bear.

For the non-pro who you can pick up from virtually anywhere (kiosks, restaurants, walking down the street, on a tro-tro, etc...), give them between GHC 10 to 20 for "transportation" money and they'll be happy and generally you'll get a much better experience.

Hmmm... SM or BDSM... Can't say as I've heard of any local girls into that stuff. As for obedience, you can pretty much treat them as your personal slave as long as you treat them nice monetary-wise.
