East China - Shanghai

Hoping the informed can assist.. Of course I have RTFF, but despite this, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For".

Seems my two-stop China trips. Shanghai / Dongguan yield such drastically different types of fun.

Shanghai. Sauna

DG. KTV

I'm a fan of the KTV, but have had less success in finding them in SH. LA Cafe is great but expensive. Are there any recommended others. Or perhaps KTV that have nightclubs with girls that you can choose vs. Getting the room. I often travel alone, complicating the costs involved in KTV.

I also have enjoyed prwling Kapata's, Park 97, and Bourbon Street, but over past two years it just hasn't been the selection / thrill factor.. Are these places still decent places to go for non-pro 800 RMB takeout?

Finally. Seen all ther posts on the Saunas up and running, but does anyone know if Buo Duo (near Century Mart) is still in business?

Saunas very strict at present. Sarcosa closed, Heting closed. If other saunas, soapies open, be very careful. I was advised to wait a week, maybe longer.

The crack down is on all over china worst I see in 10 yr ,they are even arrest the customer ,the crack down is by goverment not the local police ,I thnk it will get worst until after the national hoilday .

The National Day is approaching, always time for major clean-ups, so I would be extremely careful these days.

How can one be careful? Not go to these Saunas? Rats - I will be there this week - that's no fun. What about G18?? Any "safer" than others??Reports show that this place has it in with the authorities.
Any suggestions??? Or just stay with the local talent from hotels and bars??

I would and actually do avoid saunas for the time being, maybe even for the next 18 months.

Are you saying G18 is "no man's" land now? I will be staying in the Rainbow Hotel - any recommendations for nearby places? Any freelancers in local bars? I read the Forom but did not find much info for the location near the Rainbow hotel - appreciate the feedback

I do the same as Levitian, no more saunas until after Expo, especially after I experienced a raid myself.

G18 same story, I dont belive that crap on good relationship...maybe it works for short time, but if the LE wants to close down, they close down.

BBS is still (although tricky) option, sicne you only spend there max 15 min...
And TRL is worry-free...

With the crackdown on saunas and the police arresting customers, I think it is just too dangerous to visit any sauna right now. I was just in Shanghai and there are many safe opporunities on TRL. Go to Malones, Judys, Manhattan, Blue Frog at night. These places are crawling with working girls. Talk to them negotiate a fair price and you can have safe fun. I have not heard about any issues with this type of P4P. Your only risk is at Manhattans because there are quite a few ladyboys who are also looking for a date.

Usuallly I stay in the Holiday Inn in Pudong and I am familiar with this area but this time company is putting me up in the Rainbow hotel on West Yan'an road (Yan'an Xi Lu)

What does TRL mean? I also made several searches in the forum to find location of Malones and Judys but came out empty handed - can someone provide some landmarks or names of hotels nearby so I can get a location bearing?

From all the recommendations and reports looks like saunas are out and WG "option" is the way to go. I had no problem bring WG into the Holiday Inn in Pudong - anyone have any idea if the Rainbow hotel is FG?? Not much information in the forrum. Thanks for feedback

One more question, what are the current going "rates" for LT and TLN??
I don't want to get the WG used to inflated rates
