My company gave me tentative notice (pending the ok from those boss men who live in the cloud level) that they will extend my tour here for 2 years, as I requested, instead of transferring me to Hong Kong. The company thought I did a good job here and have established many useful contacts (and they had not even counted the contacts I made with sauna managers). Another 2 years in monger paradise (despite the rip off 2 days ago) ! Grin.

They are not just there as a convenience for guys who can afford to pay 2 to 10 times the normal rate. The thugs use threats and menacing behavior to intimidate the real taxi drivers so they don't stay to pick up. That takes the normal service away from everyone.
I regard the Chinese as being peers and feel insulted when they try to rob me.

I can either make sure I have an agreement with the driver or I an tell the honey "sorry, I am not paying 40 RMB for a 25 RMB ride, no sex tonite! I have to make a statement here!
I can speak chinese but not well enough to call a taxi on the phone.

I don't think those goons would open their door for 40 rmb. I had one in Xintiandi try for 100 rmb for a 25 rmb ride last week.
What I do is walk 40 meters to the corner and get a real taxi.

Why do you think the experience is so much better in Shanghai?

Apartment buildings in Mongkok or Dundas Street, with individual operators did not sound like it have the same level of services and attractive girls as in some top tier saunas in Shanghai. I do not go to KTV, but I passed by atop KTV once, and was totally amazed at how attractive those hostesses were.
The old Dongguan was catering a lot to HK businesses. My thought is that it would not be such a big success if Hong Kong offered anywhere near what was available in Donguan. The only good thing in Hong Kong is you may not be thrown in jail as a john if busted. I may be mistaken about what is available in Hong Kong, please correct me and give me hope. Even after I got the reprieve, I still have to go to HK for company business a few days every 2 to 3 weeks.

Don't forget a signeficant part of the Dongguan industry moved to Shanghai too.
Price are definatly not the same, first because its shanghai, second because the risks in this industry increased when DG was shut down, third because everything is increasing a lot in China regardless, but if you have the cash will find whatever service / girl profile you are looking for.

The john and an independent operator do not get arrested and go to jail.( Unless the woman was from China and was working illegally. Bur she was in violation of immigration law,) Maintaining a bawdy house in HK is illegal, hence the individual apartment, with a single girl each, in Mongkok and Dundas Street.
You got caught in a naughty place in Shanghai, you can be jailed for a few days, and a foreigner can get the visa revoked, deported and bar from reapplying for a new visa for up to 10 years.

Anything like this is in Shanghai or China anywhere now or in HK except the bars of Wanchai.
