Interesting. Intellectually and philosophically, I understand what you are saying. But I still can't shake the reality-fantasy aspect to my experience in Thailand this month. I suppose it is all about where I feel my life is. I can't imagine a scenario in which I uproot myself from SexPrison USA and move permanently (or semi permanently, as in the case of Fon Tok) to Thailand. So for now, reality, as subjective a misnomer as it may be, is in the USA for me. If my rooted existence in the USA were to change, then I am sure I would see things differently - reality might be flipped. You might say that the sense of reality I feel is itself an illusion. Chew on THAT Angus!
I think both perspectives are not quite right. That is, "life is not supposed to be a pleasure palace..." and the opposite view that "life should not contain energy-sapping commitments" are both either-ors. I think you need both. Or more accurately, I think *I* need both.
If I lived on a beach my entire life, after a while, I would crave the mountains. If I then moved to the mountains, I would crave the beach. Or the desert. Or Nebraska, who knows. My point is that life *should* be filled with ups and downs. That is how the universe seems to operate, and it is how we seem to derive the greatest pleasure. This is neither positive nor negative, just how human beings are (or perhaps just me) . I think if I lived in BKK full time, I would not appreciate it to the degree I do now, as an occasional voyeuristic pleasure seeker. So while I complain about going 'back to the ho-hum...back to reality', I really think this is a positive thing. When you ask if we really need the other side to life, the harsh side...I would say yes. I would say it is invaluable, for it gives us a frame of reference against which we can judge our experienes. The truly submlime ones.
Turns out that when I do come back to 'reality', I see it very differently. I appreciate some of the finer things (like my own espresso machine in my condo), and I notice some of the less fine things (like attitudes about sex, e.g., opposition to gay marriage). I think I have far more to learn from you on this issue, Angus, than I could teach to you, but in my opinion, the illusion-reality opposition (conjured as it may be) serves a pretty healthy purpose.
I think it has all been said in various short but simple quotes.
"The grass on the other side is always greener"
"Too much of a good thing is a bad thing"
"Good only in small doses"
"Proceed with caution" <- if you contemplate the uprooting and moving away.
Nonetheless, was enjoyable reading! :)
thank you.

Went to Tulip yesterday in the afternoon. Strangely, not so much choice. Finally I chose Ant.
Not so good experience. There was a big mess in Tulip..A customer was lost and was opening all the room one by one. He opened mine of course while i was with Ant...closed the door...and 5 min later again same thing!
Maybe because of that the experience wasnt great.
Overall no GFE. Only "standard" things allowed...felt bored.
I asked for 1h30 but finally left after 1h.

??? A customer opened your Door twice? and you didn't smack the asshole in the head?
Hi All,
Went to BKK last month right after the curfew ended. Thanks to another member's recommendation, I stayed at SilQ on Sukhumvit 19. The prices were rock bottom due to the unrest- about 2000 Baht a night. The hotel was clean, safe, had enough amenities, and 100% GF. It was also a 2 min walk to both the SkyTrain and the Metro.
First Night: Arrived on a nearly empty United flight from NRT, flew through customs, and got to the hotel around midnight. I debated for a whole 20 seconds on whether to pass out and wake up early to adjust to the time, or to hit up Soi Cowboy. Walked five minutes to Cowboy (with directions provided happily by the staff) and picked a random bar to hit up. I was pretty much the only customer there so I had the pick of the litter. Chose the prettiest one who wanted to hit up Penny Black a few doors down. I decided that one drink was enough for her and took her back to the hotel. I booted her after nutting. Looks: 8/10, Performance 7/10. Total Damage: 1000 Baht for the night plus 600 Baht bar fine. Second night I hit up another bar on Cowboy, where I quickly left with the pick of the litter again, who wanted to go to Climax, a club on Soi 11. Decently priced drinks, but she drank herself silly and couldn't even walk properly (not that I was complaining). Got my nut back in the hotel, after which she passed out. I'm really hoping it was from the alcohol and not my lackluster performance. The best part? The next morning she just asked for cab fare; it could have something to do with me saying I'd hang out with her the next night. Yeah right. Bar fine: 700 Baht, Cab fare: 100 Baht. Looks 9/10. Peformance 5/10 (in her defense, the alcohol really took a toll on her).
Third night: Picked up Cowboy second stringers at 3 am. All the good ones were taken, so I had to settle. Nothing too great to write about, but least got my nut in by 6 am for 800 baht. Fourth night: Started off at Nana, found a cute girl on stage and took her upstairs. Looks: 8/10, Performance: 9/10 (Those Nana girls sure know how to raise a whiskey dick). Altogether including drinks/bar fine/short term/room 2000 Baht. A bit pricey? Yes, but definitely worth it. I decided it was still early so I checked out Bed Supper Club which was highly rated. I assumed it would be a legit place and that I would have to put my game face on. Chatted up a ridiculously hot girl, around my age (22) who seemed to enjoy just dancing with her friend. Thought my game was winning them over, so they took me to another club which stayed opened til 5 am. They seemed 100% genuine, I. E. Looking to have a good time at the club instead of pushing to hit the sack like the Cowboy/Nana girls. Right as we were about to head back, they quoted 3000 Baht each. Fuck my life. Negotiated the hotter one down to 2000 Baht; again pricey, but I need to get my nut. Banged her out (as a small consolation, she scrubbed my anus with her hands in the shower. God bless Thailand). Looks: 9. 5/10, Performance 9/10. Aww yeah. To this day I don't know if they were really good professionals who kept up the amateur image, or actually amateurs who were looking for some farang dollars to pay for their iPhones.
Fifth night: I was dead tired from finally venturing out sightseeing so I kept it low key. Went to some local bars where it was mostly expat men. After a few beers with some friendly fellow mongers, decided to call it a night. Sixth night: Ran into some English speaking girls on the street who wanted some beers. As a true gentleman, I couldn't refuse. Took them to Climax, bought them a few Singhas, and decided that since I was leaving soon, I might as well bone both. Each one went for 1000 Baht for the night, which wasnt too bad. Looks: 7/10, 6/10, Performance: 7/10, 7/10. My final night I decided to check out a massage parlor (Friend's Massage Sukhumvit 19) for the first time. 400 Baht for a regular massage, but the cute masseuse said she would do the "Special" for 600 Baht extra. Wanting to respect local customs, I obliged immediately. What started off as a good handjob turned into FS with me railing her on the massage table. As I pulled out, she resumed the HJ. Just when I was about to nut, she gave me a prostate massage. Holy Jesus. No homo, but it was incredible. She definitely earned every one of those 600 Baht. I definitely shed a tear or two on the taxi ride back to Suvarnabhumi, thinking of the great talent I would be leaving behind.
Interesting, a bookeepers assessment of Thailand.
This should be a report of distinction. I commend you for being able to take the time to document your expenses when you are in a whirlwind of experiences and, as you said, no expense was being spared. What is so great about your report is that it proves something which I know for having been to BKK 5 times for a 7 to 14 days at a time, which is, that there is not better value for fun in the entire world. You spent less than $4000. 00 over 30 days for drinking, eating, transportation, hotels in Pattaya and fucking. That is well less than $150. 00 a day US. Most guys who go to Vegas for the weekend spend $500.00 a day and have FAR less fun. And to do what you did in BKK in Vegas would easily cost $1000. 00 a day, or more. I will be staying there for my first 30 day stay in August and I can't wait.

And not in the good way. I've also done the Korean massage parlor things in LA, the expensive escort things on Eros, the various SW things in various cities in the US, and it just is not in the same ballpark. If you have a few thousand dollars to spend on this activity, and you can get away from home for a period of time, this is totally the place to go. I think there are other places that are also quite good, but LOS is top quality (despite what some complainers on this board say). And thanks for taking the time to respond.
they quoted 3000 Baht
I don't know if they were...professionals
I'm gonna go out a limb on this one and say "YES" !
Great Post. Stayed at the Silq Before a couple of times. Nice place but there is better value in the area.
Interesting information on Friends Massage. I usually stay at boutique hotel down the small sub-soi next to Family Mart on Soi 19 and am always walking by those couple of massage parlors listening to them calling out. I may actually have to give them a look see.

You can't really compare Vegas to Bangkok, it is like comparing apples to oranges, they are totally different.
Vegas is a five star city ----------- but not the place to go for cheap sex.
Coming thru BKK for a doctors appointment after 5 days in Pattaya (and getting damn near worn out in the process) I finally decide to go to Poseidon and check out the "model's lounge".
I get there around 1645 and there are very few models there. I decide to go thru the book and find 2 prospects. I call one of the mamasan's over and make a selection. She works the phone like a stockbroker during the financial meltdown and tells me that neither of choices will be coming in for at least 90 minutes. I have no desire to wait that long and the mamasan gets all flustered as a group of Japanese tourists come in and she's helping arrange impromptu lineups for them. She gets back and is all apologetic that my choices aren't available and starts pointing out various girls I can take.
(Side note: Having read all the prior reports concerning the quality of those in the model's lounge, I have to concur. All of them are very fair skin (various shades of alabaster) and very HiSo in terms of general appearance. Different shapes and sizes. Those with long shapely legs, ad those who look barely legal. In short, something for everyone.)
Back to the story, I sit mamasan down and get her a lady drink and start to talk to her. (Though mentioned all the time, one of the first rules in the Monger's Handbook should be "always get on the good side of the mamasan!!" It makes things go so much smoother.) This time was no exception. I explain to her what I'm looking for in terms of looks and more importantly personality and attitude and she's off like a shot!! She brings back someone who's cute but I'm not feeling the vibe so I pass. Mamasan is now taking it as a personal challenge to see that I'm satisfied.
She strikes gold with her 2nd pick. She bring over NeNe, who is absolutely beautiful, with baby smooth skin and wonderful attitude. After some small chit-chat, we seal the deal and head to the room. We start off with the massage and as she gets undressed, all I can say is "damn!!!" Her body is damn near perfect with gorgeous perfectly shaped breasts (my compliments to her surgeon). After a massage that I would describe as "adequate" we go to the tub. There I discover the one flaw on her otherwise perfect body. She has a significant, if rather tasteful "tramp stamp". After significant washing, with proper attention to Mr. Happy, it's off for boudoir ballet. I won't go into details but suffice it to say that after 5 days in Pattaya, she exhibited the right amount of attitude , action, and noises to get me across the finish line. All in all, a very good experience.
At the prices that Poseidon charges (Mine came to a little over 5k, including drinks), I'm not sure that I'll make it an every trip occurrence but it was perfectly fine for a "scratch the itch" type of thing. One the way out I saw one of the ones that I originally selected from the photo album. While very attractive, I'll say that hey do wonders with airbrushing! :-) Enjoy!!!
