Last week I had an overnight stopover in Bangkok. Picked my regular Dynasty Grande on Suk soi 6. Special internet discount at 1,600baht/night - you just can't say no to that. Took the airport express bus# 3 and surprisingly arrived at hotel before 11. On my way from bus stop to hotel, I already picked up condoms, beers, water and juices, and some food! Checked in without a hitch then left right away for Beer Garden on soi 7.
I was in no hurry, so I grabbed a beer and sat down to watch the World Cup football on tv. After a while I a familiar face, it was Nut. I am trying to decide what the advantages and disadvantages of massage shops vs. bar girls (gogo) are. So far I have it like this:

Cost: About the same. 800+1500 massage vs. 600+1500 bar ST

Location: Mostly small ugly room vs. nice clean hotel room

Girls: Maybe similar but gogos you know EXACTLY what you will end up with. Massage shops, Make-Up and sexy clothes look good and then...who knows

So far I am leaning strongly towards bar girls.

What am I missing?

It looks like I may be spending a lot of time in BKK...a couple months at a time, a few times a year. I've been there a few times and know my way around the mongering scene fairly well but have one question.

I am on prescription testosterone and use Testim gel. Will I be able to get this in Bangkok? If so, do I need a scrip from my Dr in the US, do I need to see a doc in BKK or is it over the counter? Also, any idea of price?

It sure would be convenient if I can get it there at a fair price rather than traveling with several months of supplies.

BTW, for you older mongers out there...check into hormone replacement therapy. The results are amazing. I am almost 60 and feel like I am 35. I've found that in the gogos/beer bars you can sit with the girl before and pre-qualify them as to what they will do. For example: will you do bbbj? Also, you can establish rapport and ask personal questions ie. Do you smoke? Do you have tattoos? Do you shave your pussy? etc. So I find it easier to get exactly what I want.

In the massage parlors you're basically at the mercy of the papasan and his often inaccurate info about the girls. Does anyone know a way around this in the parlors?

That is the point. You should not rely on just one source. There are many different venues and that is one reason why I prefer BKK over Pat.

Go Go bars offer decent entertainment and libation. At the best ones you will find a lot of very pretty girls. Service varies however and you must select your girl carefully.

Massage parlors (oily) are great for afternoon diversions. There is less variance of service at the better parlors because the girls are under tighter management control. In general, the girls may not be as attractive physically although there are usually some very pretty girls available.

Massage parlors (soapy) may offer the best of all worlds; however it comes at a price. At the high end soapies you can find very pretty girls, reliable service, and good ambiance. 90 minutes will cost anywhere from 2400bt at the lower price range up to and beyond 6000bt at La Belle, Utopia, Long Beach and Tarawadee.

I think the key is to spend enough time in BKK. You need 10 to 14 days minimum, to get it all sorted out. I usually find 1, 2, or 3 girls I like from the Go Go’s. I barfine them and get their phone numbers in case I want to see any of them again. Meanwhile I hit the oilies or soapies in the late afternoon and try to find 1 or 2 massage girls I like best.

After 10 days or so, I have it down. I have got a couple of Go Go girlfriends that I have great sex with in my hotel room and I am considered a semi regular at one or two massage parlors where I am indulged and treated like a man should be treated. Then when everything is going good, I leave for Pat, Macau or parts unknown. One time I think I should spend an entire trip in BKK (30 – 45 days) and see what happens. I envy you guys living and working in BKK.
