Hi,
I got back from Tokyo so I'll share my newbie experience.
First attempt, I went out in the rain in search of the Yoshihara area. After getting off the subway at Ueno, I wandered around, asked around, and after getting soaked I gave up and went back to the hotel. I only knew "Yoshihara" and a general idea of where it was, and it didn't work out.
Next attempt, I did a little more research, figured out where it was and a particular place to go. And no rain. I took the subway to Minowa, then walked to the Yoshihara area. I went to the easy go-to place, Darling. I didn't bring cash, they don't accept credit cards, but they directed me to a nearby 7-Eleven to get cash (how helpful! LOL).
Going into Darling, at the entrance I was told "no skin." At first I thought that meant "no touching" which would suck and would be just like being back at home! But then it suddenly dawned on me what he meant, and that is fine (required by me). Then, after taking off my shoes, I was directed into a little room with a couple of small sofas and a little table. There were pictures on the walls and a picture book, but basically I had one choice, Masaki. For a newbie (in Tokyo) , I just went with it. Especially since I just walked in. I'm not sure what the picture book and wall pictures were all about. She wasn't the skinny little thing I generally prefer, but she was fine. Basically, you're bathed, then enjoy some tub time together / BBBJ, then the nuru massage (which is what I was focused on) /BBBJ, then FS, then she cleans you up (nuru is slick but washes off easily). We had some extra time so she gave me a light massage, and we struggled to communicate using her phone to translate. Cost was 29,800 plus I gave her a tip. I never know what to do when it comes to tips!
As I left, I explored the surrounding area, making note of another place called "Only One" or something one street over. There are a bunch and yes many are Japanese only. Those cost less too. It seems like there is a 10,000 yen premium for not being Japanese. The guys at the front of the Japanese only places can come across as pricks.
I did want to go back and check out Only One the next night but work-wise it didn't work out. That's OK. It's not exactly cheap.
Anyway, I thought I'd share.
