Thanks for the Intel, sir.
I will try to contribute Intel to this forum. I'm not good with names. I remember the good, but forget the bad ones. Kenya in the alley. Anita (long black hair and braces) at AB are among the good I can recommend. Maybe on my next trip I will keep notes. How do you guys manage to remember names of chicas, location of hotels, name of restaurants?
I am wondering the same thing. Totally cannot keep track of all these hotel / chica / restaurant names.
Been once before, second trip this week on Wednesday. Maybe I will improve my knowledge.

You can make reservations online.
Sweet! Thanks Tom.
Wouldn't many SGs also be willing to go across the street to the Rizo de Oro?
Unless you have a rapport & repeats with SGs they usually will not travel from their hotel. The Rizo de Oro is a stretch from the alley and "time is money" for the paraditas!
Totally cannot keep track of all these hotel / chica / restaurant names.
Thanks for admitting that, I can't keep them straight either. I had probably been inside Hotel Mini 5 times before I knew it's name. Some of the girls have unfamiliar Mexican that are easy to forget even if I had a great time with them.
Finding these tiny restaurants can even be difficult. A couple years ago Keg recommended Vieja Lobo to me. Told me it was directly across the street from LC and it was nothing but a hole in the wall with about 3 stools and 2 guys cooking. I looked across from LC on the north, didn't see it. Then I looked across from LC on the south, didn't see it. Then I looked up and down both streets for a good distance, didn't see it. Got another text from Keg that said it was across from LC on the north, I still didn't see it. Walked a couple blocks in both directions, didn't see it. Next text from Keg said it was between the two entrances of Mermaids. Bingo! Finally found it. It was exactly has he described, but it is so subtle that it almost becomes invisible. No exterior signage, at least at that time. Customer accessable area is about 25 square feet. Even when inside, there was only one very small sign that shows the name of the place.
Vieja Lobo has become my favorite food place in Zona Norte.

Some of mongers I've ran into aren't the most upstanding model citizens in their communities. So some of the girls who agreed to go to cascadas for the first time with me, first went up to their hotel and reported that they were leaving with me. I suspect that if I did something funny, there'd be a knock on my door with the butt lof a shotgun.

Heading down to Tijuana today. Looking forward to it, but totally disorganized with where to stay. Liked Ticuan last visit 6 months ago, but heard that the place fell apart. Posts here talk about Cascadas. Might do that. Any other suggestions out there? ETA - 1:00 pm.

If you don't have a HK VIP card, it might be best to make an online reservation because you will get a modest discount on the room cost.
Be aware that many Cascades rooms are equipped with room safes, not just the Master Suites.
Once you are in your room, check out the dark wooden front panels on the nightstands.
Some of those panels swing out, revealing a hidden room safe.
With a $10 (or 100 p) refundable deposit, the front desk will issue you a safe key if your room is equipped with a safe.
Tomjackin best expressed why Cascades is a good choice:

I am planning to visit on a Wednesday so perhaps business might be slow for the SGs especially during the daytime. I wonder if they would be more willing to go over to the Rizo in this case. If not, I would be better off staying at the Cascadas if chances of getting them over to the Rizo is too much of an effort.

It will give you the best chance of getting an alley chica to travel to your room. Also HK girls. It is comfortable and safe. Get an upper floor.
Real helpful info Satan. Appreciate it. Will definitely consider this place, and probably book online.
Liked Ticuan last visit 6 months ago, but heard that the place fell apart.
The hotel did not fall apart. There was a fire in one of the rooms on the 5th floor, started by a couple of romantic mood candles. Water damage took care of the rest of the floor. I should be opened by July / August.
The place has been closed for over a month. The chef took over Praga Restaurant in the alley and the new place is called Restaurante Azul.
Thanks, that ruined my day. I'll miss Vieja Lobo but will follow the chef. I make it to San Diego and Tijuana only about 5 or 6 times per year, typically staying 2 to 10 days. Often a bit behind the times on some issues.
