What about genital herpes? This is something incurable, and condoms do not protect from this. It is also difficult to tell if a woman is having it. Does anyon know if this is a common disease in thai?
It is a common disease and although I never went without a condom I have cought it from some girl during my vacations in Samui. What surpriced me the most was that noone of the girls I was with didnt mind about safe sex, it would have been so easy to have sex without a condom.
So compared to the other deseases genital herpes is just nothing to worry about if you sleep with a bar girl, many of them are infected.
So everyone who mongers in Thailand pretty much has genital herpes?
Well, you must be aware that bargirls in Pattaya for example, have every night sex with at least one guy, thats the way how they make money on living, so there is pretty big possibility you can catch something from oral sex, or something even worse if the condom breaks.
So everyone who mongers in Thailand pretty much has genital herpes?
I wouldn't go that far but it is a very common thing. The thing is it sits dormant in the spine and only comes out when there is a trigger of some sort. Common ones are stress, excess sun lights. I read somewhere that over 75% of the US population has herpes simplex (cold sores) and about 20-25% have genital herpes. It is not curable.
Well, I'm a paranoid person, did DATY on a girl.
Should I be worried about HIV?
Bal541,
no need to be paranoid, but there is a (reduced) risk (compared to unprotected intercourse) of getting HIV via DATY.
The saliva isn't a good environment for the HIV virus due to it's ph value. On the other hand you may have microscopic injuries at your gum, allowing the virus to pass into your blood stream. Bottom line is, avoid unnecessary risks, better safe than sorry.
If I would be you, I wouldn't be too concerned but would test 3 months after the incident for peace of mind. In the meantime practice safe sex with your partner and avoid DATY with a P4P in the future.

Works for DATY as well.

Herpes location
It's common for thailand mongers having herpes , most of the time the outbreaks are on the right buttock , any confirmation ?

Herpes in Thailand
I heard that the most common spot for genital herpes among Thai working girls is between the toes on the left foot.
Strangely enough, when mongers get it, it appears on the right foot.

Saliva has certain levels of Virus protection is true.
People should not unduely use mouth wash which can get rid of the benficial saliva. I use Non-alcohol mouth wash as Alcohol has the bad effect of drying up natural saliva somewhat. So best not to drink tequila or other strong liquor immediately before DATY also. I am talking about risks of picking up viruses/bacteria of any type.
A study of lebsbian couples with one partner HIV positive over many years failed to find HIV transmission by DATY.
Risk is probably less than risk of normal sex protected by condoms. This doesn't mean its impossible, just extremely difficult.
Although some studies believe HIV transmission orally occurs in a low percentage, they are mainly assessing risk of receiving sperm in the mouth.
I beleive that DATY has a much lower risk than girls swallowing come juice which already has a fairly low risk.

Nope. With authority I can tell you it is not on the right buttock - it's on the wrong one.

I found a very interesting articel about male semen being an HIV enhancer.
...More than 80 percent of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections are transmitted via sexual intercours...
...The team of German scientists had initially set out to determine if semen contained factors that inhibit the HIV infection. "We were not expecting to find an enhancer, and we were even more surprised about the strength," says report co-author Frank Kirchhoff, a virologist at the University of Ulm Clinic in Germany. "Most enhancers have maybe a two- or three-fold effect, but here the effect was amazing—more than 50-fold and, under certain conditions, more than 100,000-fold."...
...In situations where low levels of virus are transferred—as during intercourse—Kirchhoff says, SEVI can make HIV up to 100,000 times more likely to spread when compared with the virus alone...
