Filipinas - Opinions and Advice

I have been reading some of these stories and I find myself possibly in one of those situations.

I met this girl on Asia Euro and we started talking on yahoo I'm. I forget what city she lived in but I know that it was not Manila or close to it. Now, she was real sweet and we talked and saw each other on the webcam for days. Then all of a sudden, she was not on line for a week. The next time we spoke, she claims she lost her phone and that is why she could not talk to me. So she kept talking about needing money to get a new phone. She did not outright ask for it but she kept talking about it. Now, like a dumb ass, I offered 50 bucks and she jumped on it. Mind you, this is all new to me so I asked how I could send it and so we decided to send it Western Union. I asked her where to send it and she gave a name of some other girl which right there a red flag went up but it was only 50 bucks so I did it. She promised the next time if I sent money, I would send it to her address and her name.

Now, the address was in Pasay City but Cecille (the scammer) specifically said she was in another city far away from Manila in fact she went as far as to say she had never been to Manila. Now the next time we spoke, she said that her daughter (Hazel Jane) needed to go to Cebu for some thing with her school and needed a plane ticket. Once again, she never asked for it, she just kept complaining. At this point, I offered to help again but I would need to send it to her name and address (which I wa snot really going to help, I just wanted to call her bluff). Once again, she made up some stupid story but this time I did not send anything and just said I had to fix my car After that I ignored her for a few days. Anyway, the next time I talked to her, I confronted her about my feelings and she reassured me that it was all coincidental and I just chalked it up to her being poor and having a rough life. So we continued to talk and we got along great. She was funny, charismatic and witty. Now I have talked to a few Filipinas and there are some that just seem dull, but not Cecille, she was different.

Ok, se we start getting closer and more serious, so now she says she is moving to Manila to work because I am planning on visiting in Jan 08 and she claims she is going to work at the Asia Mall until I get there. Again, she starts complaining about needing money for a plane ticket to get to Manila and once again, I don't give her anymore money. I know by this time I should have just dumped her on the curb because I have seen and talked to so many Filipinas from that website that were WAY better looking than Cecille but I really liked her so I kept the relationship going but I was cautious all while talking to a few other girls too. Hehehehe.

Oh yeah, again, she cries about a phone because my 50 dollars was not enough and she was saving that 50 till when she can afford a new phone. Meanwhile, she swipes out her sim card with all these different cell phones and I see them at diff times when we speak and use the cam.

Ok, so now she is in Manila and we barely talk now. I call her sometimes late at night and she is up doing God knows what. At least 3 times I have called and she was at a bar or listening to a live band with her so called "friends". So last week, she says she moved into a new apartment with her cousin (which she seems to have so many relatives all over the Philipennes) and I said I would send her some money or something so she gives me the address and it's in Pasay city too like the original address she gave me. This one has a diff name too and she claims it is her landlady. So anyway, I started reading on the web and I found out SO many things about the area she lives in right now and it is infested with brothels and places where Filipinas live to have sex with westerners. I read all about the protitutes in the Philipennes thanks to sites like this one and another one so now I am not a newbie.

Now my guess is that Cecille is one of those *****s who goes out at night and meets westerners for sucking and fucking but what I can't figure out is this; I have not sent her money since that first time so why does she not just ignore me? I mean, if she can't score money from me, why does she string me along?

Mind you, I am not as much as a dumbass as some of you may be thinking as you read this because I have been talking to 2 other girls while I have been talking to Cecille and they are EXACTLY as some of you described the "GOOD GIRLS" to be.

They send me tons of pics, they live with heir families, hell I even talked to one the girls mother on the phone and NEITHER one of them has mentioned money one time.

I can tell you for a fact that Cecille is a bar-girl that works at the EDSA Complex in Pasay (which is part of Manila). I met her on my last trip to the Philippines this past May and I barfined her on two different occasions. She is a pretty girl with a fun personality but I would definitely put her in the scammer category.

My experience with her is that she told me she was pregnant and that I was, of course, the father. (This is an all too familiar theme for me if you read my past postings!) By this time I was home in my country so I asked her to go to a doctor and get a pregnancy test, scan the results and send them to me and prove to me she is pregnant. She never did.

She then told me she went back to live with her family in General Santos City (which is part of Mindinao) and that she was having difficulties with her pregnancy. She gave me a story that she was in the hospital and wanted me to send money for medical bills. I told her I would send money and reimburse her bills if she scanned the receipts and doctor notes she had and sent them to me. I’m still waiting.

The funny thing about her was she would trash the other girls in the bar because they were liars and cheats. I guess it takes one to know one!

There are some good girls on those sites but there are also the scammers. You did a good job of suspecting a scammer in this case. The best thing for you to do is to get on a plane and experience the country and the women in person; once you do you will never be the same!

Very nice report. Many of these girls run so many scams on so many different guys at the same time that they cannot keep their stories straight and cannot remember to which guy they told which story. No one ever accused them of being the brightest bulbs in the chandelier. Most of these women come from extreme poverty, and most who are in the sex trade in Manila, don't come from there, or even from Luzon, but from anther province. Many have been impregnated by irresponsible Filipinos who promptly flee the scene, leaving them destitute and without child support, Since most of these girls have zero education, no skills (except fucking) and no money, they wind up as sex workers.

Many (though certainly not all) of these women also lay on their backs to support not only their children, but their families since the parents are too fucking lazy to work and prefer to live off of their daughter's income from prostitution. They never have enough money and they're always on the look out for avenues to acquire more.

Even those whom you meet on one of the chat sites often string along several guys at the same time, hoping that maybe someday one of them will show up here and take them away from the lives they know. I agree with Sagramore. The only way to truly separate the wheat from the chaff is to come here, meet the ladies (without their families) and spend a while getting a sense of their characters. There are lovely, honest, faithful women here, but you will not be able to differentiate them from the rest of the scamming crowd without a personal visit. In the meantime, I advise you not to send any money to anyone for any reason no matter how poignant the story or the tale of woe. Remember, there are thousands of women for each prospective visitor, and believe me, if you come here, you will have a wide spectrum of candidates from among which you can choose.

For whatever it's worth, I also advise that you avoid the girls from Manila, simply because there's a greater concentration of scam artists in the metro area than in other places. Better to head for another area and to cultivate relationships from Mindanao, Dumaguete, or any of the other 7,000 or so islands that comprise this country.

I've lived here now for almost five years, and I can no longer count the number of guys I've seen scammed, despite all advice received, by women whom, they insisted, were "different from those scammers." In the case of the Philippines, seeing really is believing.

I know this because while I was breaking up with her, I asked to see her on the cam and she was defiantly balling her eyes out. I felt really bad because I really had strong feelings for her.

It's also funny that you mentioned Mindinau because that is where I think she was from. And, she also mentioned that she was sick and in the hospital for 1-2 days but I forget the date, I think it was like 3-4 weeks ago.

Anyway, if you could just describe her here that would be great. If not, I will just buy a subscription and we will correspond through the PM's because even though I dumped her, I would like make sure I did the right thing because right now, I feel pretty guilty.

The RP girls are the most clever or cunning of the world's scammers - many can and do tell lies in the most convincing manner. I do not think that poverty explains the situation entirely - maybe it is a national characteristic to do things the easiest way possible, especially if they can rip off a foreigner.

You asked a question in your post about why would a girl string you along, in my opinion, why not? You have already sent her money once; therefore you have proven yourself as a "tree that bears fruit" and you have also given her the impression that you would send money again. It costs her very little to have contact with you, she knows she will probably never meet you in person so what’s the harm in fabricating a few dramatic stories in the hopes that it may produce a little extra cash.

Also, keep in mind that the Philippines is a poor country, there are many hard working Filipinos that make less than $5 a day. Even though $50 is not a lot to you, it is to a person that makes $150 a month. To put things in perspective, you gave her more than I did for two full nights of passion!

Well, a bit too negative GE, but I guess you have to be blunt to make sure the message gets out. Love is blind....

I'll add two things...and I've said this before.

1) If a lady hints about money, or asks for money, no reason to get bent out of shape and call her a scammer. The smart and devious ladies will just adapt and refine their technique. Just let it slide....no sense in training them to be better scammers.

2) If she's trying to "scam" you, she probably is desperate (maybe greedy desperate) and / or of low moral character. Either way, a woman like that is more likely to get comfortable on your hotel bed. (I know from experience) So, make sure you get her email address and phone number. This is especially true for those who have poor scam techniques....the good ones are already making too much money to bother...

3) Okay, I lied, I have three points. If you go to the Philippines to meet a chat friend and she is eager to go shopping, this is probably a bad sign. At one time I thought a few gifts would be a good investment with girls I met online...but, I've never had a good payoff. They typically expect more, more, more. As for online girls, meet them at the food court in the mall. The food is cheap and you keep their expectations low. Things can only get better (especially if she money focused). If you want to spend money on a lady, suggest an overnight trip to the beach. I've never had that plan backfire - yet.

I'm already tired of hearing about this lady. You already unnecessarily busted her chops online, so why spend one more minute on it?

And one more thing, you should NOT be insulting someone online that you have never met just because you sent her money unnecessarily. You said yourself that she never asks for money, only hints about it.

What if her little sister happened to be sharing the computer with her when you had your little outburst? Have some decency man.

I came on here for advice from experts which I am not. Some of you guys have been to the very same places I am asking about and I needed some much needed help.
Also, I even posted that I really liked her alot and I felt guilty after I did what I did because even though I may not trust her, I still had some feelings for her. BTW, lets not question my behavior because I have never dropped a dime on any prostitute in my life so suggesting I was being too harsh on a girl or whether or not her little sister may have been in the room when I did is laughable consider what this site is really all about.

Even if a girl has pretty good character, she will use some of her scammer relative's trade secrets. She may have boundaries that she tries not to cross, but . . .

You posted for the first time on this forum telling the story on how you think you are being scammed by a girl you met on the internet. I replied to your post in an effort to help you as I actually know the woman you were referring to.

The reason I am so sure we are talking about the same Cecille is because you gave her last name on your first report, also her daughter’s name.

I am more than happy to provide more details about her but not in this public forum as I don’t think it’s appropriate. If you PM me I can give you the email addresses, chat ID’s for her as well as pictures.

Hell, this girl even after all the things that have happened and what I said to her, she still is trying to talk to me and stupid or not, I am still talking to her but I will keep her at arms length. I can't relate to being poor and having to sell my body to make a little money but I can see how if a person is desperate, they will do just about anything for some scratch. Oh yeah, I am talking to another girl who I think is a scammer. She sent me a bunch of pics and she is very nice looking, real innocent looking with light skin and a beautiful face. She says she has NEVER had a BF and she is 28. So she then says she has internet connection at home but she has no phone number or phone. How is that possible, last time I checked, the dsl runs form the phone line? I know I need a phone number for dsl so just incase it goes down, I can use dial up on a modem. Anyway she says her BDAY is in two days and asked if I would send her a card (mind you, we have been talking for 5 minutes). So I ask her for her bday year/day and month and she pauses for like 30 seconds. She comes back with 08/22/1978. Now she says she will be 28 on the 22nd but according to my calculations, she will be. 29 Unless I am retarded which is likely LOL.

I also had some other girl show me her tits on the web cam which my reply was.

"I'm sorry but I am not going to pay alot for this muffler"

Which I am sure only Americans over 30 may get. I know she did not. Anyway, I actually have a good time flirting with all these girls and I can't wait to go the PI. I hope when I go, someone from here will show me the ropes.

Yes, Yes, Yes, listen to FW. For us regulars, this is just such common knowledge that we don't even think about mentioning it.

I met a professional lady from GSC, which is about as far from MLA as you can get, and she flat out told me that some of her friends had quit good jobs in order to go into the business of online scamming or begging or whatever you want to call it. (we need a better name).

Once again, if you get a really lame attempt at a scam, don't slam the girl. Don't teach her how to improve her game. You might do a hell of a lot better by saying, "well, i'm sorry your house burned down, and you're starving, and the elctricty bill is unpaid...but I wish you the very best."

When you do that you hint that you know what she's doing, but you help her save face. A key to surviving in Asia is understanding how to save face.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but Americans / Brits / ozzies seem to be particularly bad at this rather harmless social technique. Americans have the additional limitation of being loud and occasionally suggesting that the solution to geopolitical problems is nuking the population which seems to offend you.

I'm going off on a tangent..sorry. Work gets busy next week, so I WILL NOT

A little background on myself: I am an amercian born Meztiso (half-Filipino ) who is culturally american. I have ladies I have met through Filipinaheart and picking up in the Malls who have requested cash for various emergencies such as sickness, education, building material etc. Etc. Some of these requests are legit. But I am sure some were just for living expenses. Also I have learned that "loan" really means gift. LOL. So Gentlemen, whenever you hear a sad story, it could be total be. S. But if you are aware of this you cannot be duped. But all in all, I love visiting the PI and screwing as many women as I can.

My opinion: only give to those you have met in person and spent some time with or else you may regret your generosity.
