I think this will help, roomsafe and minibar are quite important.
My advice on minibar: on ARRIVAL, while waiting for your bags to arrive, stop by the arrival's duty free, and pick your poison. Think it's 4 items, where a 12 pack of beer counts as 1. To verify limit, ask one of the staff. Then, at the hotel, have the hotel empty the minibar, and replace with your own supply. For juice/soft drinks, ask the front desk where the closest store is.
You will be paying enough drinking in the bars...

I agree with this advice completely.. the limit is 4 liters; For a week I picked up a vodka and gin but ended up leaving the gin for the housekeeping as "tip." Bought some Red Bulls and OJ from the grocery store.
Dar Al Sondos and Al Sondos are two different places. Dar Al Sondos is just a slightly lower end of Al Sondos. I have stayed in both the places and in fact stayed in Dar Al Sondos several times but just find it quite run down. Al Sondos on the other hand is much nicer with much larger rooms and much better amenities. Anyway, looks like it is GF so I will just have to take my chances.

Highland
Rose Garden certainly is, about a 15 minute walk from York etc. Rose Garden IS NOT GF, I sayed there a few months ago. Good value for money and nice new hotel apartment though. Depends what you want .
And what are GF hotels near golden triangle? Affordable ones? You know, friends, there are so many usefull informations. But to get out of this puzzle what you really need. Maybe there should be a thread just about hotel adressses and pick up location for a quick info. Love the reports. But so timetaking to suck out pure informations. Sorry.

Woxi,
I replied specifically to your questions and suggested a very reasonably priced hotel (US$80 per night for a SUITE) within 10 mis of the Golder Triangle. You ignore it and ask the same damn question again. It is bad enough that you did not read the forum properly. Plus there is a gigantic list of hotels in ROD as already stated. Geez.

Actually I booked a room in Dar al Sondos, but for the the second dates in Oct. it was full, from Astoria still waiting for answer, so, before knowing about ROD, I asked again. Very sorry.
