Had a weekend at the JW Marriott ( 5* very nice) for the Gf's B'day. After an afternoon of sparkling wine, bonking and cinema followed an evening in the excellent all inclusive Bamboo Lagoon, afterwhich we decided (in a rather worse for wear state) to try the club at Moscow Hotel Deira.

Its actually to the right of the main entrance, small door (red leather padding on the reverse to give an indication of whats to come). 50 dhms entrance fee includes a 'free' drink, girls do not pay and get 1 free drink.
Walls are red padded leather - rather like a lunatic assylum cell. Large seating area at one end for high paying clients (book table, bottle compulsory - real Russian style). At the other end is the stage. Good Russian band playing a mix of western and Russian comtemporary music. In between is a very large standing area with a few tables. Beer was a reasonable 23 dhms. After the band finishes each set two dancers come in stage and dance to the DJ's choice. Sadly they do not undress. Barman has watched too much Tom Cruise, juggles bottles of Vodka - entertaining.
At 2330 the mix was 3/1 in girls /men. After 0030 it was 20/1 men/girls. Girls are mainly CIS - good mix of stans and blondes, something for all tastes. Very few blacks and no Asians. Several T42's in the wings scowling at the punters.
Can't advise on pricing but hey it's Deira and the clientele are Arabs, Indians and a few Russians. I was one of only about 5 Europeans in the joint - all of whom I recognised from the Regal. I guess from information received that pricing is in line with Regal. A girl I know makes a living there and gets 500 ST.
End of Moscow Hotel report, I will not be returning.
On the subject of prices all is not gloom and doom.
My mate who arrived in Dxb one week has a LBFM (Little Brown Fucking Machine) that complies with his 30/50 rule (30% of his age and 50% of his weight). Huge rack, when seen from behind the globes are still visible - all this in a <5' package. She is ex York, charging him 200LT. Repeat customers win.

Inside, not my scene even though physically I fit in there better than Seaview: any number of aging guys, beer guts, drinking. Very unfavorable M/F ratio. A few PRC's; Seaview was better. More -stanis here, more attractive than Seaview. About even when it came to Africans.
Not really looking to pull, so not disappointed. [u]For me[/u], Seaview had more potential. But every now and again, I like to be reminded of the [i]necessity[/i] of a Miss Thursday; I really don't miss going out Thursday night. YMMV.
Last note: Wed's pull used to work York. She said that now York was a shell of itself, maybe a quarter of the girls, if that. Fewer girls, fewer customers. Death spiral.

Yes, I know early. But had intentionally bypassed 're-opening' weekend on the chance that crowds would be there (I HATE crowds). Going early gave me a chance to chat with 'Big Shisha', aka BS, SOMEWHAT uninterrupted (given the newness of the reopening, he was constantly fielding questions/problems from staff).
Initially, BS was all raves about the re-opening - what do you expect? BS slipping into PR mode. However, at the cost of a beer for him, he became a bit more, should we say, honest.[list][*]Numbers not quite what he expected; those construction delays have hurt credibility. Hopefully, once word of mouth gets around, they will hit the numbers.[*]Some opening glitches:[list][*]sound system [nice when I heard it] had been cutting in and out.[*]Temp controls for the a/c had a few bugs. VIP room had REAL problems - you want THOSE customers to work up a sweat but NOT due to lack of a/c. Will obviously take some tuning.[*]The below the bar refrigerators for the bottled beer seemed to be blowing a circuit breaker, so could not be switched on. Not really the [i]premiere[/i] image you want: plastic coolers full of ice and beer - after all, it's NOT a beach bbq.[/list][*]Some 'civilians' trying to get in[/list]And the last led to a discussion on his/their dilemma: You can't just have "ANYONE" coming in, especially trying to get in the VIP area. Yes, it is screened, but... The "she lost an earring and was just searching underneath the table" explanation will only fly so many times. Still, there is the dance floor in plain view of the general club, and the wg's walking around, being, should we say, a bit more suggestive... (none of the Cyclone's bouncers' strong arm dissuasion tactics for couples here). Yet, these days, given the increased publicity on clubs discriminating... you really don't want complaints hitting the tourist board / letters to the editor either.
So how do you keep 'civilians' out / punters welcome? I did see them putting up a brass plaque "Members Only". BS did say that a [i]recommendation[/i] from a current member would go a [u]long[/u] way on [i]quick and easy[/i] entrance / temp membership card (showing the wisdom of the pass phrase). However, he did go on to say that a [u]photo[/u] id would be required for the name to write on the card, and it would be stamped for that night only. No problems leaving to, say, go smoke some Shisha at the cafe, or getting smoked somewhere; but, getting back in, would require [u]BOTH[/u] photo id and card. Obviously, they're not clueless as to someone, [i]set[/i] for the evening, passing on / selling his entrance card. Or trying to photoshop one for subsequent entry.
Inside, drinks not cheap - that 40 dhs bottled Corona NOT cheap (at least for the likes of me). But we are paying for [i]ambiance[/i], aren't we. For VIP and above, is possible to buy/reserve your own bottle. Early for a club like this... still, a few wg's present. Saw a couple cute either [u]eastern[/u] -stanis or actual PRC's. Others? No chance to check out their english, so can't say Filipinas or not. Couple of bored looking CIS hanging around; [i]nicely[/i] attired, sexy, yet no walk of shame required. Given an early alarm for work, couldn't hang around any longer. Mostly, besides checking out the place, got my current card swapped for the new one with the revised date.

Met up briefly with TS London at the weekend for a drink and coffee en route to AD from a rather hectic afternoon (see AD Forum for the FR). Great guy, nice man and we had a good time/chat.
