I don't enjoy Songkran in Thailand, so I spent a week in Vietnam for my Songkran dodge, and my visa extension. I stayed in District 1, and the Lan Lan 1 Hotel. Its a nice hotel, within walking distance of the Ben Thanh Market, and the War Remnants Museum. I had read about the hot tocs on this website, and I decided one night to give one of them a try. It was a block and a half from the LL1. I must have had "1st time visitor" stamped on my forehead, because the place I tried charged me 200k Dong for the massage fee. They said I would get 1. 5 hours with the young lady. We went upstairs, she had me change into a ridiculous pair of boxer shorts. She told me to lie down flat on the table. She started massaging my arm and shoulder, with my hand resting on her thigh. When I gently moved my hand across her thigh, she said firmly,"I can touch you, you cannot touch me!" WTF, I thought to myself. When it was clear to me, in about 60 seconds, that I had been hustled, I told her I was leaving. She must have friends in Thailand. She said,"up to you." I just couldn't see wasting 1. 5 hours, and tip money, for an untrained womans massage. I told her I was leaving, and I did. I wish I had written down the name of the place to advise ISG readers, but I was annoyed, and walked quickly back to my hotel. I think the name of the place had a 4 in it. Several pretty girls. But my dear uncle has an expression,"give me a thousand women I can look at, or 1 I can get my hands on, and which choice do you think I'll make?" The next night, I asked 3 taxi drivers if they knew how to get to Ben Ny's, on Dien Bien Phu Street. They were all puzzled, and didn't know of such a place. I'm a senior, so it was a little bit out of my walking range. I haven't given up, because I would really like to give a more "customer friendly" hot toc a try. I think the Vietnamese women are beautiful. But it was like being in a glass cage. Anyone know of a decent hotel (2-4 stars) within walking distance of Ben Ny's. I'd prefer someplace within, say 2-3 blocks of my hotel. Thanks guys, for any help you can give me. I wish I had more to report.
Korean town massage parlors

Life is good in HCMC. I was staying in District 1 this time which I find absolutely no reason to repeat in the future. I found myself leaving for a more interesting district daily. When I found out the location of korean town I ended up going there 4 times and saw three different girls at one shop. All three were miniature models IMHO. So much beauty in one barber shop and so little time. I ended up really clicking with one of them so on my last day I checked out early and went to see her before I had to board my plane. She had such a lovely perfectly preportioned body and a great almost innocent personality. She was ultra cooperative and would virtually do what ever I asked. No I didn't ask for anal. I asked and got her cell number and I think I can get an even better deal before she goes to work at 2 pm
Total price was 700k. I tried to talk them down and even walked several times. I did my walk about the whole district and found that the standard asking price was 700 with the exception of one that offered 650. They werent even close in quality with the one I ended up going to on ba vi st.
When I go again in June I will just stay near korean town and save the 4000 dong bus fee from ben than market. By the way the #4 bus stops very close to korean town.
Anyway stay safe keep the prices down and enjoy all the fine asian tang there is to offer in vietnam.

My Massage Parlor Experiences in HCMC
My apologies as this post is long overdue. I hope my report isn't too all over the place as I will try to fit in my experiences over the last year. I know some details will be missing, but I'll try my best to remember. Plus, bear in mind some of my views on women, services, etc is subjective.
Huong Sen Hotel on Dong Khoi. This was a while back so the details are fuzzy. What I remember is the fat chick asking for 500K for a handshake and I said no way. The massage was decent, but without the finish, felt incomplete. I would not recommend as the asking price is too steep considering better options.
Festival on Cao Thang. I went here on two occassions. I believe the door fee is 180K. Most of the girls are young and good looking. I got to see a lot of them because I went with a friend who ended up taking alot more time than I did. As I waited for him in the lobby, it happened to be the same time as the shift started so I got to see alot of girls walk in. I don't remember specifically the numbers of the 2 girls I had as this was awhile back as well. But both girls were good providers and didn't haggle about tip. I would recommend, but is a little out of the way as it is not in District 1.
Dong Duong on CMT8 (in the alleyway next door to one of those beer restaurants).100K door fee. 200K VIP. Provider was nothing stunning but the service was good. I plan to go back to try to catch a peak at some of the other girls. My gut tells me there should be some good looking girls here. Wouldn't recommend yet until I see more of the options available.
Saigon Superbowl on Truong Son. I have also been here on two occassions. Door fee is now 120K. First time I went, had #23. Not a stunner, but friendly, flirty and provided a good massage. Second time I went was actually today. I had #1 and according to the male attendants in the locker room, she is the #1 in looks. I'd say she is pretty in that wholesome way. I'd also say her body is above average for her size. I would recommend Saigon SuperBowl if you are in the area (near the airport entrance).
Victory Hotel. I always forget the name of this street, but it's in District 1 near the Jollibee. Don't recall much about this session so I'd have to file it in the do not recommend side.
Vien Dong on Pham Ngu Lau. Now I have been here multiple times so you know it's going on my recommend side. 220K door fee. 650K VIP which I have not partaken in. In addition to your massage, you get a choice of a free leg massage or facial (just tip the provider). You can also get free instant noodles if you are hungry. Drinks, though, cost extra (well probably not ice water or cold tea). I don't recall all the numbers of the girls I had, but these two I remember. #49 tallish, sorta plain looking, but nice rack. Very friendly and good massage. #39 a little bit older and a little bit pudgier, but oh the rack on this one. Good massage, talked alot during session (even sang a little bit) and did hassle about tip. Cross paths with alot of girls and I'd have to say 80% of the girls here are above average in looks. I would recommend for sure. If you go based on this report, you'll probably run into me there, so just say hi.
Massage Place across the street from Pandora City / Big C on Truong Chinh (part of a hotel).90K door fee. Not the cleanest of facilities. Massage felt super rushed. On the plus side, the girls were young, but all seemed a little bit pudgy. I guess they hire the young pudgy ones because they have the illusion of more rack. Provider hassled about tip. I would not recommend.
Massage Place a little further down Truong Chinh with the digital sign in front (part of some no name small hotel). I believe it was an 80K door fee. This spot is dirtier than the one above. Provider was nothing special. I would not recommend.
Massage Place on Cong Hoa with the big red sign in front (near the airport, not the entrance, it's the end of the runway).70K door fee. 150K VIP. Only saw two girls (one in front and my provider). Both were spinners and cute. Facilities OK. My provider gave a good massage and provided a little bit of GFE at the handshake part. I would recommend if you're into spinners, plus the cost is less than Vien Dong. I'd run out of money a whole lot faster if I just go to VD all the time.
I've also tried a couple of those foot massage places in the Backpacker's District, but I've had no luck on getting an ending. I've seen reports that guys have gotten a handshake, but I've had no such luck.
I've also walked around HBT and the billiards bars there. I'd have to agree with those that say 91 HBT has the hottest girls. Though I've only had drinks there and never actually gotten serviced. One day I shall take the dive. Need to check out these cafes, karaoke and K-town spots. Got to try them all before I head back to the States.
In summary, Vien Dong and Festival are the best experiences I have had so far here in HCMC.
