Two ways I have dealt with the currency:

- Make sure your bank knows you will be traveling so they indicate that on your account. Makes for fewer hassles if they see activity from DK show up. My ATM has worked in every bank, can withdraw DKK and the exchange rate is handled by your home bank. There will be fees tacked on by both banks and depending on your account details, these can be pricey. Do not use the non-bank ATMs as the fees are much higher.

- Convert cash. Central station has multiple locations where this can be done. They will charge you 40-50 DKK to do the conversion but then you will then receive the posted exchange rate.

Due to my account at my bank (who reverses several of the fees) it is a bit cheaper for me to use the ATM method.

When exchanging cash, I believe anything under $600 will be allowed.
