Not sure what democrats biggest failure iis yet
So true. Seeing it a lot in Arizona where Kelly is up for re-election in AZ. He voted with Biden 95% of the time. He voted to stop building the wall in Arizona and now the tv ads show him in total support of border security and totally against Biden administration on the border.
Democrats are bailing on Biden short term just trying to get re-elected after they have totally devastated the country with the democrats open borders policy and the democrats defund the police. Not sure which democrat policy is worse but they definitely have made every American's life worse if they live in USA. Other countries live the fact that democrats have weakened the USA so much in just 2 years. November 8 can't come soon enough.
A call for Covid amnesty AKA Let's look Fauci and the Dems off the hook
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/you-murderous-hypocrites-outrage-ensues-after-atlantic-suggests-amnesty-pandemic
The Atlantic has come under fire for suggesting that all the terrible pandemic-era decisions over lockdowns, school closures, masking, and punishing an entire class of people who questioned the efficacy and wisdom of taking a rushed, experimental vaccine. For a virus with a 99% survival rate in most, should all be water under the bridge.
Unlike the douches here, the Atlantic seems to realize they were wrong about Covid and people are still pretty pissed about it. Of course, that is not why I liked the story. I loved this epic response to the Atlantic.
Heysorry you lost your job be / see of the vax that doesn't work and your grandmother died alone and you couldn't have a funeral and your brother's business was needlessly destroyed and your kids have weird heart problemsbut let's just admit we were all wrong and call a truce, eh?
It's too bad we shut the entire economy down & took on tyrannical powers that have never been used before in this countrylooking back, you should have been able to go to church and use public parks while we let people riot in the streetsbut it was a confusing time for everyone.
Hey I'm sorry we scared the hell out of you & lied for years & persecuted & censored anyone who disagreed but there was an election going on & we really wanted to beat Donald Trump so it was important to radically politicize the science even if it destroyed your children's lives.
OK, yes we said unvaccinated people should die & not get healthcare while never questioning Big Pharma once but we are compassionate people which is why even though we shut down the entire economy we also bankrupted the nation & caused inflation. You're welcome! Let's be friends.
That only thing the statement above lacks is a microphone dropping.
Now you're playing dumb, I see!
I will forgive your ignorant thoughts. No doubt you were educated in the usa. But how can russia be more homicidal? Usa has higher domestic murder rate, murders most civilians in wars, has higher death penalty rates, higher covid deaths. Answer please.
Usa government has the most money in it to buy policy, usa uses international institutions such as imf, wb, nati for its own ends, invades countries that it wants, cuases coups. In what eay ix russia more corrupt?
What does covid deaths have to do with Putin's homicidal government?
What does their domestic murder rate have to do with Putin's homicidal government?
What does their death penalty have to do with Putin's homicidal government?
What money to buy policy, what institutions, what in the holy name of fuck are you blubbering about?
What does all that word soup have to do with Putin's homicidal government?
Russia has already murdered over 6,000 thousands innocent Ukrainian civilians including over 400 children (that's only officially confirmed deaths, the actual toll is much higher). The city of Mariupol has been erased from earth, that's an additional tens of thousand deaths we haven't uncovered yet since it's still occupied by the aggressor.
In every place liberated by the AFU, there are dozens of mass graves, there are torture chambers, horrors, ruins, blood.
Of numbers and knuckleheads
Let's begin with a simple fact that the mortality rate is pointless.
Why? Because in February there were 3,000 deaths daily. Today, it's "only" 300+.
Which is why making any kinds of conclusions by the current 1% mortality rate is dumb. The mortality rate is not constant.
The case fatality rate isnt constant: it changes with the context
Sometimes commentators talk about the CFR as if its a single, steady number: an unchanging fact about the disease.
But its not a biological constant; instead, it reflects the situation in a particular context, at a particular time, in a particular population.
The probability that someone dies from a disease doesnt just depend on the disease itself, but also on the treatment they receive, and on the patients own ability to recover from it.
This means that the CFR can decrease or increase over time, as responses change; and it can vary by location and by the characteristics of the infected population, such as age, or sex. For instance, older populations would expect to see a higher CFR from COVID-19 than younger ones.
https://ourworldindata.org/mortality-risk-covid

There is no such thing as a 1% fatality rate.
Some people are young and healthy. For them, the CFR will be miniscule, much less than 1%.
For older people who are reasonably healthy it'll be higher.
For older but fully vaccinated people it'll lower.
For older people who're not healthy higher.
For old people with systemic diseases the CFR is far above 1%. In May 2022 the mortality of people over 60 years old was 4. 5%. But for the subset of those who are fully vaccinated it'll be lower..

It means, that for Elvis (and me, and most other ISGers, I suspect) the 99% survival rate is a fiction.
And of course, what our enlightened Elvis completely fails to recognize is a thing called long Covid. It's when you ain't dead, but sometimes you wish you were.
Nearly One in Five American Adults Who Have Had COVID-19 Still Have "Long COVID".

But what the hell. None of that matters as long as they can enjoy throwing shit at the same people who've been keeping them alive.
