Well, I think prices are increasing in the Thai side - I've sat in the Udon brothels and watched them charging fellow Thais 500 in what used to be 400 baht houses, 400 in what used to be 300 baht houses, and 700 in what used to be 600 baht houses. Though I have been able to bargain back to the old price in most, in the 600 baht place they didn't care I was a regular customer - they insisted absolutely on the new 700 baht price.

In Thai-staffed lower-end brothels upcountry quality is at best just passable, not what anyone would call beautiful, I would think. Also in many provinces such places are few and far between, in some cases even non-existant, often being closed down by the cops.

In regular Soapies the price has long been very high anyway, and most are adding higher price levels for side-liners and such while keeping less girls on at the lower price levels. 1,500-2,000 is the norm up country, and from what I read 2-3K in Bangkok, Pattaya, etc.

Kareokes seem to be about the same price level for the attractive girls, say 1,000-2,500.

I do think you are right about better service (bbbj, sometimes more) becoming more common in Thai-oriented venues, particularly in Soapies. However for the ultimate in good-service (anal sex), one can rely only on Pattaya as far as I can tell. I think Thai men are expecting more services as they watch more porn and become more westernized in their taste. (also regarding prices the Thai economy is so much better than the economies where most tourists come from, perhaps the price-pressure will soon be greater in the local venues)

A lot of the upcountry brothels are staffed with lao girls. So the beauties, if any, are usually Lao.

Good looking Thai girls don't need to work in a lower-end brothel. Thais aren't poor anymore. Any quality girl will already have a gik/boyfriend, or will sell herself in a massage parlour. The good quality keeps getting pushed up higher and higher every year. As long as Thais continue prospering and rich sex tourists keep coming, the quality will continue to be pushed out of the lower/mid level scenes.

I know those brothels very well (I visit them regularly since year 2002), and believe me, your Thai friends have been overcharged there, as already explained in [url="http://www.InternationalSexGuide.info/forum/showthread.php?p=1037540"]another report[/url]. Of course, the prices are increasing too in the Thai-oriented venues, but it's not comparable IMHO with what has happened in the recent years in the tourist-oriented P4P places (especially in Bangkok). In the cheap brothels of Udon Thani, the prices are only 100 baht higher than 8 years ago.

Wow! I would never have thought that we could disagree on this point. I already posted a few pictures of the kind of cuties that one may find in the cheapest brothels (those are not even the most beautiful girls that one can find there), and IMHO, they look a lot better (naked) than the average provider in the Farang-oriented places.

Amjeck, Goyave, just to clarify, I was, talking about the Thai-staffed places, not the Lao-staffed places. There are still quite a few Thai-staffed places at the 500 baht level around the upcountry, particularly in provinces where the Lao are not allowed, but of course far fewer than in the past, and the quality there is mediocre (and service usually worse). The Lao-staffed ones are a special case, and I fear not long to be with us.

Precisely as Amjeck points out, Thai girls who are attractive can work at higher price levels than those at the low-end brothels, so quality there is mediocre. Still, no worse than in Pattaya or Sukhumvitt.

Honestly, 3-4 years ago, I found it rare to ever be asked "how much you pay? " If the girl and I had rapport, we chatted, had some drinks, and off we went.
