Except for Sunday afternoons, the DHs seem not to go there much anymore. So the place has a bit of a harder feel to it. I blame the renovation a few years back, which makes the dance floor a bit less open and the DJ disconnected. Also, Saturday afternoons used to rock in Wanchai. When Makati stopped the free buffet we all stopped going. Before, whatever I was doing at 6 pm on a Saturday, I would drop it and head to Makati. 7 pm was when the chicken wings came out! The girls knew they could eat for free, so many went. Now Saturday afternoon's in Wanchai seems to belong to Neptune III, but it pales in comparison to a few years back when Makati, Neptune II and Luguna were fantastic.

The DHs have found other places to party now. Fewer go to Wanchai, though Sunday is still usually worth a stroll. I think part of it is the social networking sites. They can more easily meet guys online and make other plans. Part is finding more obscure venues. So, if like me, you like to explore more, you need to chat more online and explore beyond Wanchai.

Most week nights Makati and HK Café belong to the working Indos. Joe Bananas usually offers fewer girls but more of a cultural mix, though prices tend toward Escape. But when the others are quiet, Mysties and Taboo seem to draw a good selection of Pinoy tourists on the prowl. Later, Amazonia too.

The bottom line is that Wanchai can still be pretty good. But the party seems to move around. If one place is not to your liking, move to the next. You are likely to find a good buzz somewhere most night.

Your other option if your hotel has a key card is to go to short time hotels. They are usually nice and cost around HK $300 for 2 hrs. Or you ask for a second key card and meet the lady near the hotel.

There are still a number of 4 and 5 star hotels which have no keycard for lift.

I know what you mean about Sunday morning Indos, and Bar 109 and Players. A few times a week I used to get up early, go for a work out at California and then head over to Players.
