I will be going back in the next week and want a new hotel. Although I really like the Hotel Mystic I want to avoid the 2 taxi drivers who sit out front. I really think things would get ugly if I saw them again.

My first time to DR. Planning to stay here for about 10 days. Just learned that there is not much daytime action in Sosua. Would you please help me with your suggestions for daytime action.

In Santo Domingo? I have read the forum but could not find much information specifically about daytime places (similar to those in Medellin, CO; San Jose, CR; Bangkok & Pattaya, Thailand etc).

I really appreciate your help! Which places I have to go to find girls in the daytime, particularly in the early afternoon? Any recommendations about low to mid range hotels in those areas?

The Palacio is chica friendly. A couple nearby, Roma 1 , Roma 2 and Discovery are chica friendly as well.

Decided to stay in a hotel in Santo Domingo Este. At $116.00 plus taxes per night, Palacio was a bit too expensive for me. I'm paying $77 per night plus taxes at the Acuarium (room with kitchen, living room and bathroom). Went to Zona Colonial for lunch and hung around for awhile. Around 3.30 pm I decided I wanted to do my first SDO casa. I've done Boca Chica and Sosua but never SDO. Read some good reports about about 10's in La Teresa so decided to head there. Walked to Palacio and asked a driver how much, he says 400 pesos so I jump in and we're on our way to Ortega why Basset.

When we arrive no sign of life in the place. Shout and a lady comes to the gate and lets us in. To cut a long story short things have not started yet, I must have read somewhere that this casa opens much later but I forgot. They call out 4 inhouse chicas who do not catch my fancy for 4000 pesos. They told me that at 8.00 pm there should be 30 chicas. I say gracias and decide to leave.

I jump in the taxi (the same guy who brought me to La Teresa) and give him the coordinates of GBP. He says 400 pesos. I am skeptical though not sure and make him to believe that that is rather high though I have no idea how far GBP is from La Teresa. He then says 300 and I still look skeptical. Then he says 200 and I think that GBP must be quite close. We argue and I decide to get out of the taxi. Put my hands in my pocket to call taxi, no cellphone. Just wonderful. Must have fallen off somewhere most likely in the taxi. However, GBP calls stronger than anything else. I ask some one the directions to 27 Febrero and he directs me. I jump in a publico and I say 27 Febrero, along the way some passengers get off and others get on and I am squashed. Get off at 27 Feb and ask directions to Avenida Lincoln. Jump in another publico and head in the general direction. Arrive at Lincoln and get off. Total of 50 pesos. Ask for Ave Tiradentes and was told it was in direction that I had already passed. Walk towards Tiradentes looking for Arismendy motors. Saw it, crossed the street and enter GBP in building next to it.

Its dark coming from the sunlight but when my eyes get accustomed to the gloom I perceive 14 chicas muy lindas and I am the only customer. I am in paradise. They all look very enticing and are encouraging me seductively. These chicas are much hotter than most of what I saw in Sosua the previous 12 days. Also the providers I saw in La Teresa were not much better than them. It is difficult to choose but in the end I take Jeral (first time I've heard this nombre). Hand over my 1000 pesos. The lovely brown skinned chica is worth much more than that but I soon found out why it is so cheap. Entered a room with nothing more than a leatherette sofa that was damp. Did as much wiping with tissues as I could (no towels provided) before getting down to business. Tried as I could, I could not leche. For me ambiance is just as important as chica. Chica was obliging but I just was not comfortable. She cheated me regarding time (my watch batteries went dead) but I did not protest. After dressing she asked for propina but I told her no leche no propina. All in all 1000 pesos well spent. I certainly will return in spite of the discomfort as there were some other hot chicas to be attended to.

No possibility of publico back to my hotel. Walked over to the Nacional Supermercado I had seen earlier and bought some groceries. A very congenial porter at the supermercado used his cellphone to call me a taxi. Gave him a generous tip. Journey back to my hotel cost 350 pesos.

I am certain that my next casa visit will be to GBP.

Damn. One of my girls just said they just had an earthquake in Santo Domingo. 5.8 on the Richter.

Everybody run out of the office, I just keep watching the walls and floor moving. Based on historical data a strong earthquake is expected to occur sometime on this decade.

Roma 1 is about a mile from the Jaragua give or take. Even though Roma 2 is newer I like Roma 1 better. The Jaragua is closed for renovations by the way.

Just to add to directions already given to GBP. GBP is much closer to Ave Tiradentes than to Ave Lincoln and is on the side of the road with the traffic that is heading from Tiradentes to Lincoln. Its on the opposite side of a side road to Arismendy Motors. You can see the neon sign "GBP" in the second floor from Feb 27.

I was in SD about a month ago and Jaragua was open as well as the casino and they had a show going on at the bar and a concert in the ballroom. Did the remodel just start?

Watch your head walking up the entry way, low ceiling.

The Jaragua closed at the end of April for remodeling. I'm not sure if that includes the Casino
