10 days condensed version of a first trip. Arrived from Thailand after over 2 months, so needed a day off to build up the energy. This was basically a trip to leave Thai and return to activate a second visa.

Here is a run down of the venues and fun to be had.

Stayed at the Mercure Hotel. Great location. Right on the main road and within 5-10 minutes of Malio / Maliboro, Classic, and Travel.

First day Malio and Malioboro. Good time, good looking girls, drinks downstairs and upstairs. 1/2 of the girls were shy to come during the presentation. When the mama went to get them, a lot stayed seated. Just FYI.

Met some cool Indo dude at the table next to me. He ended up buying me a pitcher of beer (even though I had a full beer). I asked him and the girl he was drinking with to help me drink it. Everyone happy. Didn't take a girl that night. Prices quoted at that time were 1. 2 m and 8 k (tier structure).

Day 2 - Classic. Lots of girls sitting on couches spread throughout the place. All shapes and sizes. You need to move around to get a good view of the girls because the place is big. I tried sitting at a table to have a bintang beer and enjoy the view first but mama kept bringing girls (fat, thin, etc.) Nothing that I really wanted, since I was looking for a cutie with some decent curves. Had to get up and move to the other sections. This time, I just stood there so I can move when needed. Nothing exciting tonight either, drank some beer and left. Planned to come back tomorrow fully charged. Prices quoted were 350 k for 1 girl or 525 k for 2 girls.

Day 3 - Classic. 1 beer, had mama bring the girls I wanted to see. After about 5 girls, I ended up choosing the one who was brought over first. LOL. Nesya. This one stayed with me and hung out while I finished my beer. Great attitude, great fun. Nice curves. 325 k (or $25 USD) (plus a small tip for her for the great first experience). She gave me her number afterwards. Nothing came of it. When I called her 2 days later, she didn't want to come to the hotel. Just wanted me to go see her at work.

Dinner later that night. Then a short walk to the hotel. Met 3 ladies while walking back. They were all cool. Only one was pretty in my book. We all talked and even took a few photos together. They were staying a hotel just 100 m from my hotel. I got the one lady's number and we agreed to meet tomorrow.

Day 4 - Called the regular lady and we met in my hotel lobby. We went up and talked. I had a few Jack's, she drank water or juice. Uh ooo. It was like being on a HS date. Kiss here and there. Touch here and there, etc. A very slow night. I was really thinking of just going to a club. But I stuck it out a little longer since she was genuinely a really nice lady. In the end, it all worked out. Very inexperienced in bed but tasted sweet as pie and very very tight.

Day 5 - Malio again. Great time downstairs. Drinking beer, flirting with the dancers, and the DJ. The DJ was hot. I was sitting at the bar. She came over during her break. I offered her a drink she declined. She was going upstairs someplace to eat. I wanted to join her, but she said I can't. LOL. I left.

Next stop. Bats - cover charge includes 1 drink. Lots of girls. The handful of pretty ones were occupied. No problem. Great band playing and a few other choices all over. Talked to a few girls but they all wanted 2 m (about $150 USD) and they weren't the hottest looking girls either. No can do. Especially when I am heading back to Thailand in 5 days. I offered 1 m to the only one I was willing to take. She declined. Later as the crowd thinned out I decided to leave. She flirted and was now ready to go for 1 m, but I was turned off. A little bit too hard core during the negotiation.

Day 6 - Woke up feeling good. Went down to ask for an in-room massage. Hoped to see who was available, but only saw 2 girls who were walking away as I talked to the lady at the Spa desk. One looked cute and I requested her. Had to point her out from the hallway. Long story short, good massage for about 250 or 300 k. Can't remember. Pushed for full-service. No deal. But for less than $25 bucks, I had a great looking girl hanging out with me and wanting to make me happy. Heck, for this girl (with her great attitude), I would have given her a nice tip even if we didn't go the room. Just because she was so much fun talk to (and of course I was touching her to). But yes, she deserved a tip for 'everything'.

Went back the next day, couldn't find her. So I went to check out Blok M.

Day 7 - 10 to follow later (with pics tomorrow). Time to watch NFL. American Football.

This is a very long and very overdue post. This was back in February, so I don't know how applicable it is to this day, but it's a good reference point from the perspective as a newbie for newbies. So I just spent a few days doing touristy stuff. I also got a fantastic deal at the Mecure Kota for one of their best suites. It was my last night in Jakarta, so I decided to hit up all the usual spots that I read from these forums. I went over to Block M to start out my night. First stop D's Place and it wasn't very good. The place was pretty empty. There was only handful of older gentlemen there, and 1 girl (not very attractive) dancing on stage. It's a pretty relaxed and chill environment. I had a drink anyways to see if it picks up, it did not. The bartender wasn't bad looking though.

I head over to My Bar. DEAD. EMPTY. I literally walked in and did a 180 and left. I think I might have woken up the bartender haha.

Go into Top Gun. Much better overall than the previous two. There were a lot of girls here, but I can't really say any of them were good looking. The live music helped the place be bearable. Definitely more girls than men. Almost every girl in the place made eye contact with me when I came in, and walked around. Nobody was even remotely doable here though. Stayed for 1 drink hoping for a stunner to walk in. Nope.

Taxi over to BATS. Ok, definitely a different place and vibe than the previous 3 places. It's pretty fancy and upscale (for Jakarta) and the girls were decent enough for my minimum standards. The problem here? Two: Waaay more guys than girls, and it's ridiculously expensive. It cost 140 k to get in, but when I ordered the same drink, it cost 200 k. WTF? Why don't I just buy another entrance ticket? A beer was 110 k. I saw a handful of girls I wanted to take home with me, but they came with guys. And anytime a good looking girl walked in, they get snatched up before I even get a double take. I've been flirting with a girl most of the night, never conversing with her, but checking her out and she seemed decent enough. The night was getting late, and I was ready to go back. Nothing good came in and the place was starting to empty out. I went up to that girl from earlier, her name is Nikki, and just started to talk to her. She's half malay and half Indonesian, but born and raised in Indonesia. She had a pretty overall face, and her top half looked decent, with large hips and has 1 kid. Anyways, she agreed to come back with me and we negotiated at the hotel. I get DFK, BBBJ, CIM, and stay the night for $100 usd. She brought me to go get street food near the hotel. Day 7 - Blok M. This was a Friday night. Checked out Top Gun first. OK. Good vibe. Lots of people, lots of ladies, and an ok band playing. Had drinks here and met some cool dudes who were partying. Must have been regulars. Talked to a few of the girls to see what they are about (prices, time, etc). One girl was cut real quick. Started with good conversation. Next, I told her I was thinking of taking her to my hotel tonight. She said ok. We talked more as I finished my drink. Decided to get another drink for me and asked her if she would like a drink. We were just a few feet from the bar. And before we even arrived at the bar, she has the nerve to flirt with another guy. I cut her loose. We to another area on the hunt. Found a small group of ladies together. Said Hello, and smiled. Two smiled but one didn't. Yes, the best looking of the bunch. Tried to have conversation with her but she was acting stuck up. Finished up my Jack and walked across the street to D's place.

Good vibe in D's, a good number of ladies available. Talked with a few girls. All receptive. The one I was really considering (Ms. E) for the night was decent enough, but I was undecided since I popped 3 x yesterday. She left and went to Top Gun but gave me her number in case I wanted to call her back. Great idea (her idea not mine). I ended with drinking with 2 other random American guys, both there hanging out solo like me. It was a good time. Didn't see anything I really liked so I called E to come back. She didn't answer but came back soon after the call. We talked at the bar. Negotiated for 350 plus taxi money to go home. I know part of the regulars in Jakarta will think that's too low, others will think it's a great deal (and it was). Here's my take based on my notes prior to my trip. At the's 300 k for a BJ, 400 k for ST, and 700 K for LT. However, when I was talking to the regulars at the two bars, they told me they give the girls 300-400 to come back to their apt for the night. So I went with their price. The girl E and I talked about price and had another beer together. I wasn't pushing my price, I just told her that was what I could give her. 350, plus 50 for taxi. She thought about it and accepted. (FYI that's just about the same rate I was paying in Thailand). We took a taxi to the hotel and all was good. Good time in bed. Sleep. Morning sex. Day 8 (morning sex with Ms E) - then tourist stuff.

Day 9 - tourist stuff. Ms. E called and wanted to come see me later. I told her I was tied up doing sight seeing. Even at 350 k she was willing to come back.

Day 10, slept in and decided to check out Travel at night. It was ok. Not as good as Classic 2 or 5. There were some pretty ones sitting at various tables with customers, shit. They looked good too. Since it was my last night, I only talked to 2 girls and picked the second one to have some fun. Nothing special, just a quick blow and go.

Overall a decent trip. I wanted to check out CJ's and Alexis but didn't make it to them. Was having too much fun at Classic.

BKK nightlife is more centralized and it is more user friendly to get around in than Jakarta where taxis are required to go just about anywhere, but girl for girl, Jakarta ranks very high in my opinion. You just have to go to the right places at the right times.

All I was trying to point out was that your sampling of Jakarta nightlife was not the best or most representative and If you had picked three other places on my list, for example, your opinion of Jakarta and Jakarta girls might be very different.

My favorite town is still BKK for a variety of reasons and I like to spend 4 weeks per trip there, but for me, 2 weeks in Jakarta followed with 2 weeks in Manila form a perfect balance and variety of girls. Some guys wouldn't want to spend a night in Manila. I like the town. Some guys never want to leave Pattaya or AC. I find Pattaya and AC kind of boring especially in comparison to BKK and Jakarta. All of this is fine. Everybody should do what they like. Similarly everybody has different tastes in girls. I like natural, cute, sexy. Other guys like large breasts or pronounced butts. I like GFE while some other guys like PSE. I am not particular about skin color or tone while other guys prefer light skin. Good thing there is plenty of variety for everybody.

Hi everyone,

I'm new on the forum and I've been in Jakarta for a month now.

I'd just like some general advice on places and prices.

So far, my main places for 'getting off' are massage places like Delta Spa or Myplace (tip 100-200 k) for HJ. Getting bored of it now.

Does anyone recommend Alexis? And what is the general price structure for this place? I heard there is an entrance fee, does this include the bar?

I've also been to Sense KTV in manga dua, the chinese girls are amazingly hot but don't speak English! It seems like paying 2 m just for them to sit with you and sing! I'm not sure if they are prostitutes or not.

I'll have a look through the forum, but any more advice would be appreciated.

If I remember correctly, you and I were also on the same page about AC when there was a heated discussion going on there as well. I love manila, didn't like AC too much. Love bkk and pattaya. Not keen on Jakarta. Mixed on phnom penh. Hated Saigon.

I've had so many arguments with people over each city, and everyone has their reasons for why they like a place or hated a place. Some can be chalked up to bad luck, and others can be because you were in the right place at the right time. Maybe my tastes may change and I can go back and appreciate the places I've missed out on.

Will be travelling to Jakarta (maiden visit) from the 29th Sept. To the 2nd of October. 3 nights. With a group of 3 friends. I have RTFF about a years posts and am still confused about day time action. By day time I mean from as early as 11 am. I believe royal mas and Berlian might open by that time. What time does classic, Malioboro, Alexis, kings cross start functioning. Can the forum members suggest any other places where I can have a quality time during the day. I will be staying at grand Mercure Jakarta harmoni. Thanks in advance.

Is the infamous helicopter treatment still provided at the 5th floor of Alexis or has it been converted into a karaoke?

It's more of a tourist destination than a mongering one for me. I would never monger in soi cowboy or patpong in BKK, but would go there just because it used to be great and held a reputation for a mongering destination for the city.

I felt Block M with BATS was pretty diverse. But then again, I don't have time, nor the desire to check out everything and everywhere that is mentioned. Everyone has different tastes.
