Along those lines, international telephone connections are hit or miss right now, mostly miss for me. I'm in California and I have only been able to get through to the Phils by phone once since the earthquake and the connection was terrible. Also my Smart SIM roaming ain't. Yahoo IM seems to work, but audio sucks and webcam mostly freezes. Pity the poor scammers who are probably starving.

At the moment, I am hearing at least 3 more weeks before service will improve.

I always have problems getting through to Phils around New Years and Christmas. It must be all the offshore Filipinos calling their relatives to wish them Merry Christmas and the Happy New Year. Add to that severed Internet cables and you have a real problem.

Trust me, I own a techie company there...it is not the holidays...the typhoon has skrewed up internet connections and phone lines big time. It's cost me 1000s USD.

Also having problems with Chika. My Smart Sim stopped roaming. Any ideas when all this will be fixed? GF she is pissed.

I have some connections to the telecom/ISP companies involved. The initial public estimates were 7 days, but that was too optimistic considering the logistics. Then they said 2 weeks in official notices, but I was hearing 3 weeks on the side. My best guess is 1 to 2 more weeks. It shouldn't take longer than that as there is a lot of pressure to get it done.

So hang in there is all I can say. If they get it fixed up sooner, that would be great for all as lots of companies and people are losing money because of the poor connectivity.

Kiowa, if your GF doesn't understand it's out of your control, perhaps you need to find another GF.

On to the news update: there's been a setback in the repair efforts. One of the cable laying ships pitched a fit and had to go back to Taipei for repairs that will last at least a week. That is public news somewhere. So now I am hearing January 16 as the due date to get half of it fixed and January 30 for complete restoration of service for the set of cables that was disrupted by the earthquake.

There has been considerable rerouting through Europe so that is helping some: my Smart SIM started roaming again today. But Yahoo Messenger audio and webcam still sucks; only IM is OK.

So on a whim, I said ok, since there wasn't going to be any action there. I had to get her a later flight, so I bought her a ticket. I figured if she shows up, great, if not I'm only out 50 bucks - better to find out now rather than later that she is a scammer. She wasn't a pro by any means, but I also doubt that was her first time in LA. She was down in Manila from her north Luzon province for a week doing some paperwork for her travel visa she is trying to get. She wanted to make some money for the bus, her room, and to take back with her. Her story really did check out and she is back in her province now. She's trying to get to the US to live with her aunt there. She was a lot of fun, took very good care of me with the cabs and any bullshit we encountered, and never once gave me any bula-bula. She is somewhat infatuated with marrying a foreigner, so intentions are more about looking for a boyfriend. The sex was good, but not the best I've had. She definitely had a bit of a jealous streak and a temper, but I like a girl with a little spunk. The only problem was that I was not allowed more than 50 feet from her at any time!

But anyway, we had a good time, toured Bohol, and went out on the dive boats daily, and of course shopping. She took me to the airport (to make sure I was actually getting on the plane I'm sure), and she even cried when I left which was cute. I'm still in contact with her via SMS over Yahoo Messenger, and she is bored back in her province. She sends me very sweet messages a lot. She wants to know when I'm coming back, and I can think of nothing else.

My only question is what is real and what isn't? I feel like a kid coming home from Disney World trying to figure out if the Pirates of the Carribean were actually robots. (-; But seriously, she is half my age, and a world apart. I would like to see her again, but would also like to sample other Pilipinas. I'm not sure where I go at this point. I just know I am so depressed at this point and miss her a lot.

I survived another Christmas, and get to drink myself stupid for New Years in a couple of days. The Philippines seem like a dream now, but I awake every morning with a smile thinking about it.

I wasn't quite prepared for what that place can do to you. I've been to other non-asian mongering locals like Costa Rica, Curacao, and others, but there were language barriers there and the girls were sweet, but just looking to make some quick money to take back home. The Filipinas are quite a different experience. The whole GFE thing is definitely fun - whether they are looking for a boyfriend, someone to father their kids, or just looking for return business, it doesn't matter - its still good and real as it gets. After 20 years of mediocre response from American women at best, to get that kind of attention and sex, rocks! I've had plenty of American girlfriends, and have one too many at the moment, but I will definitely return to the Phillipines for more Filipina “love”.

As for my little 19yo I spent 5 days with in Alona, asking me for money 5 times in one week got me over her real quick! Oh well, she wasn't that great in bed anyway and I was getting really tired of texting about nothing. Due to the typhoon, my flight got screwed up on Cebu Pacific from Hong Kong to Manila. Cebu Pacific has great flights, but their reservation system sucks! I wanted the hell out of Hong Kong, and the only flight guaranteed out was a way over-priced ticket on Philippine Airlines, so I took it and away I went. The only problem was I arrived way too early for my private car, so I had to get alternate transport to Angeles. I didn't have the fly-the-bus schedule with me and didn't want to be stuck at the Swagman, so I remembered reading about the Victory Liner bus. So I took a cab to the bus terminal and grabbed a bus to Dao. The cabbie jacked me even with a meter somehow. The Victory bus is clean and comfy and I felt relatively safe. I was the only white dude on there, but got lots of smiles from the young ladies traveling. I would not recommend Victory if you are not an experienced traveler or have a lot of luggage, but otherwise it is fine (and cheap). A door-to-door car would have been easier of course. So a trike ride from the bus terminal in Angeles to my hotel, and the adventure begins. If its your first time in Angeles, I would recommend arriving during daylight. It was a bit overwhelming to arrive there at night – a shock to all the senses to say the least. I was booked at the Pacific Breeze hotel, which was supposed to have opened just a few days earlier. Well it didn’t. (-; It looks like a nice place and is owned by the same people as the Central Park and has rooms for $50. So the girls at the Cetral Park hotel called around and got me a room at the Hana hotel. It’s a decent place, but all the way up on Perimeter. It has a very nice pool and the suites are nice rooms and the front desk staff were great – otherwise nothing special.

So my first night out, I stopped in a couple of smaller bars, but just had a beer at each. Then I found Pasha. This place had a ton of girls working – wow! I went to the bar and had a few drinks with the manager – really nice guy – indonesian-dutch or something. A cute waitress came over and I had some drinks with her and her friend. After a while, I bar-fined them both, and we went bar-hopping and playing pool, and had a lot of fun. I ended up cutting her friend loose – she was a lot of fun to hang out with but not so hot, so I just took the one cute one back to the room. We had some great bareback sex, got a great bbbj in the morning, and we stayed in bed and at the pool most of the next day, screwing every couple of hours. I had to finally make up an excuse for her to leave at around 3pm – I don’t think she would have left on her own accord. The second night, the jet lag kicked in and I slept most of the night, woke up at 4am, went down to Mo’s and watched football til the sun came up, got some breakfast then took a walk down Santos St. Ended up short-timing an 18yo cute cherry girl at a place across the street from Wild Orchard and got an incredible bbbjcim, all for 1100 pesos – gotta love it! It got quite wild back in the corner and much clothes came off the girls. I had moved to the Cetral Park hotel at this point, so I took 2 of the officers back to the room after a little barhopping. We had a great 3some and they stayed til morning, we went to breakfast and sent them on their way after exchanging phone numbers. I had brought a Cingular phone with me that I had unlocked, and got a sim card there. I really recommned this, so you can text the girls and stay in contact with the good ones. Its fun getting messages all the time. The forth night was uneventful, then came leaving Angeles for my next stop (after another trip to the Santos bars and another bbbjcim from a different 18yo!). This was very hard to pull myself away from Angeles, but I had to go scuba diving and I knew there would be more pussy there.

I took the fly-the-bus down to Manila and stayed overnight at the Swagman. The bus to Puerto Galero wasn’t leaving til 8am. The Swagman is a decent hotel – the lobby is nice and they had some good live music, but I didn’t care for the rooms much. Its very convenient for taking the fly-the-bus though. I decided to try the LA Café I read about. This place was hopping with 60+ girls or so – its all freelance there. I had a few beers and had to brush off a few annoying girls, but overall I liked the place. Then this one girl walked over - she was very good looking, so we had some drinks and she agreed to come back to my place for 1500p + tip. She wanted to walk back to the hotel instead of taking a cab. I didn’t really like that, but we got there safe. She ended up having an amazing body, and I was in complete heaven the whole time doing her. The second time around she told me to sperm in her mouth, so I obligued! She left after about 4 hours as we had agreed – had to get home early for something. I wanted her so bad the rest of the trip, but never could hook up with her again. She was so hot!

The next day I caught the bus and ferry to Puerto Galero/Sabang (via Swagman fly-the-bus). It took about 4 hours all together, but wasn’t too bad. The people from Swagman were really good and made sure everything went smooth and we got on the boat safely. I found a little hotel called Seashore or something and got a nice room right on the beach for 1300 a night. Hot water was an issue at times, but overall a good, quiet place. Power and cable tv are not a given on this island! Most places have to run partially off of generators. Puerto Galero is an interesting town. The scuba diving was good, but due to the full moon, the currents were running fast. The best diving is a longer trip to Verde island. Due to the storms coming through, no dive shop was going there unfortunately, so I never saw it, but still got some local dives in that were nice. I found a good dive shop owned by a Belgium guy. Go to a bar called the Divers Den (I think) a block off the beach - it has big murials on the wall. He also sponsors paint ball games. There is not much of a beach in Sabang, but they have some nice resorts, good restaraunts, and good bars right on the beach. I spent a couple of days in the bars playing pool with some ex-pats and Aussies, and had a great relaxing time drinking some San Miguels. Had a fantastic legit massage a couple of times at this castle looking hotel up the street from the beach area. Actually the girl doing it wanted to meet me after work, but she didn't get off til 11pm. Wish I had, but didn't because I had another girl by then. There are about 6 discos with girls in this town. There is a decent selection with some cuties – not like Angeles but still good. I found plenty of talent in the discos - I didn't see much freelance action that looked any good, but there was plenty around. The mamasans are a little pushy in the discos but they will find you anything you like, so use them. I took a hottie back to the room each night after barhopping – the barfine was 2000p, half for the girl. One didn’t stay, but I was too tired to care. I got stuck there an extra day because of the storms and no boats were running. I finally got off on the only boat leaving that day, but the trip back was from hell due to the waves and chop – never again will I take a boat in PI in bad weather!!

I got back to Manila at the Swagman, but after the extended boat ride, I was too late to catch a flight out. So I decided to try another hotel called Lotus Garden. It was very nice for PI standards and cost $50. Much more professional and clean than any other place I stayed, but not much personality either. I hadn’t done much research on Manila as I only expected to be there one night, so after a long sleep, I headed back to LA Café at 4am. I was a little worried it would be dead, but to my surprise, it was packed and hopping! I stayed a little while drinking, not having much luck, but then came in this little 19yo cutie at 5am. She was good looking, had a nice body, spoke great English, and was relatively intelligent. So we talked for a while, ate some french fries, then headed back to the room. Never once discussed money. Her story was she was down in Manila to do some paperwork for her visa. The story seemed to check out, but who knows. I had told her I was heading down to Alona beach the next day, and she was very interested in coming, but I was a little weary of bringing a girl that I had known for a few hours. I was having some serious indecision about this, but decided in the morning to bring her. I checked out, we got in the cab, stopped by her place to pick up a few things, paid her landlord 2K for rent which I gave the landlord directly because she wouldn’t let her leave without paying (-; Then of course got stuck in Manila traffic. By the time I got to the airport, I was very late, and ended up having to get my girl a ticket on a later plane. I made the flight by the skin of my teeth on Cebu and off I went on a good flight.

In Taglibaran I arranged transport for my girl to the hotel since she was coming in later. I made my cabbie take me a few places in Alona beach before I found one I liked – ended up at a place called Alona Divers – nice place but a little overpriced at 3000p for beach front with no hot water. They had garder view rooms for 1500p too. You can get rooms a few blocks from the beach for as little as 800p. They happened to be doing a twighlight dive that night, so I went straight out for dive. I honestly didn’t know if my girl was going to show, but wasn’t that pressed, since I would only be out 50 bucks if she scammed me. I had a good feeling about her though. I came back to my room after the dive, and to my surprise she was there. But unfortunately she had major ear problems on her very bad flight and was in a lot of pain. So much for the perfect trip… I gave her some sudafed and tylenol and hoped it would clear, but it never did get much better. And I heard about it plenty the whole trip! )-; We spent four days there, went out on the dive boat each day. She would snorkel or just hang on the boat while I dove. I thought she might get bored but she seemed fine. The diving was really good – excellent corals and lots of palagics, and not much current. Dive boats go mostly to Balicasag island and local dives each day, but a few will go to Cabilao island which is woth the trip and extra cost. Just ask around. Alona beach is kind of sleepy – its nice with restaurants right on the beach serving the catch of the day grilled. Its mainly about 7 or 8 large resorts in a row with some shops here and there and a nice beach, and a bunch of smaller outdoor bars. Great to relax and do some diving, but not much nightlife. I didn’t see much action going on, but I didn’t look too hard either.

We went into town in Taglibaran a few times to eat or kick around town. Somehow we always ended up at the mall though. She was quite happy to shop if I was paying, of course. She had her eye on a new cel phone. I explained to her it was coming out of the money I had planned to give her for Christmas at the end of the trip, so she still got it. (-; They will get the better of you eventually, but I took it out in trade that night though (-;. Overall, it was nice to have someone to go out with and eat with and sleep with and kick around with and shower with. I saw a lot more being with her because she was really good at getting around, and took no shit from anyone, especially when it had to do with money. She got in a fight with every cab driver, because they always tried to jack us and she wouldn’t put up with it – it was pretty funny though. Quite a temper on that little one. We went on a tour the last day around Bohol and saw the chocolate mountains and other things – it was good to play tourist for a day.

Overall, I liked the experience of traveling with a girl. Its kind of a risk, because you really don’t know how they will be. My girl was very sweet and very trustworthy so it worked out (for the most part). But they are your responsibility there since you took them. The down side was I was never allowed more than 50 ft from her at any one time, seriously - she had some major jealousy and trust issues (for good reason with me (-;). So I didn’t get to play as much as I would have liked – I’m used to a lot of “me” time at home, so it took some getting used to.

We flew back to Manila and said our crying goodbyes at the Manila airport and I had an uneventful trip home – 30 hours door-to-door from Alona Beach to Washington DC! But I survived and it was SO worth it. Singapore airlines rock if you ever get a chance to take them.

The only problem now, is that I can think of nothing but going back. I am scheming and plotting, and shall return!

This is a problem some of us have learned the hard way and yes me also.The gals at your hotel are looking for a free ride anywhere as we all know.I have fallen VICTOM yes thats the right wording for this scamm.You check in and get to know the staff and after a while they use the devel in the red dress deal.What I am saying is they take and meet you at another hotel and fuck your brains out and yes this is great but,the downside is they have a roster of others ahead and behind you they have also played.

They have a great job,they know who,what,when the guys is getting into town and then they work the magic.They lie and have many others sending cash and some as close as 2-3 rooms away helping them along.Watch the magic and yes I have even had them finish (resign)there work and go with me.And after 2-3 weeks I find out they are KEBET "MISTRESS" To another guy who is married with a family.They are getting money from others they meet at hotels in the daytime and fucking me whenever they can get back from all the other shit they are doing.
