I have been to Hatyai but never dannok. But I know where dannok is. From KL. How to go sungai kolok or padang besar? You also mentioned etc. Hehehe. Give me the name of those other places. So I can find info also. Please give me info on this. This 2 places mongering something like Betong? Is it cheap or expensive? Like hotels is there alot or just a few like betong. I don't want to end up sleeping on streets. Got scared after my betong trip

What is the scene there like. Something like Hatyai or betong? Cause I know Hatyai you got to look for those fish early in the morning. Betong the same but bars start opening around 12noon WITH dancers

I had to look up the city location and saw its about as far south as you can go without leaving Thailand.

Padang Besar and Sungai Kolok used to be pretty good but both have gone seriously downhill in recent years -- PB because the action has shifted to Dannok, just 15km or so away, and SK because of the terrorist threat. I really can't recommend either anymore. Unfriendly, poor selection of girls & just not a whole lot of fun.

Of all the border cheonging spots, Dannok is IMHO the place to go right now. Much bigger and livelier than Betong ever was. Relatively safe and friendly. It is a bit pricey now and you have to be careful of OKT scams, but you can have an excellent time there, as many reports here attest. I also like Hatyai a lot, but maybe that's just because that's where I live!

Hello there. Sorry to just jump into this forum. If I may, I would like to contribute some info about Padang Besar. Well I work there for 7 years before so I might be able to provide some tips for you guys.

Padang Besar is like a cowboy town on the north of Perlis which is the smallest state in Malaysia border with Thailand. You will find Padang Besar Malaysia and Padang Besar Thailand.

The town have about 5 to 7 hotel only. The best hotel is Central, the last time I know the rate is about RM60.00 but now might increase. Then come to cheaper hotel like Satit, Royal and afew more which I forgot the name. The rate is about RM35.00 to RM45.00 but might also increase price. Satit and Royal hotel is the most popular one because they are only next door to karaoke bar to book lady. The lady cost about RM180.00 to RM250.00 depend on look and age and how long they got into service. One thing good about Padang Besar is that the cost of having fun (fxxk) with a lady is cheap compare to Danok because there is no go-go strip bar there. Just have fun with your girl in the room and the last time I spend is below RM250.00 for 1 night with all in (food, hotel room and girl fee). Of course we do not go for expensive food just ordinary thai food and drinks for 2 person cost you about RM10.00 to RM15.00 and you will have a good time there without worrying the girl run away subject to where you book your girl. Some bar, they are not responsible type so maybe you bang 1 or 2 round then the girl run away. It happen to me before but I change until I found 1 bar where I stick to forever so that the girl and the mamasan become my friend. I am not promoting for any bar or anyone just want to share info for members. If you need more info, I will try my best to provide for you. Padang Besar is where the train crosses the border, just 15km west of Dannok. It was the main entrance to Thailand until they built the North-South Highway (which crosses the border at Bukit Ayer Hitam/Dannok), after which it pretty quickly went dead.

Sungai Kolok is way down the east coast, a couple hundred km further south. It's the closest crossing to Kota Bharu, and was only really popular among mongers with the misfortune of living in Kelantan. It was never a very friendly place and there have been some bombs and shootings there in recent years, so it's really best avoided.

The Ao Nang area is really dead, was unable to find any real action in the evening. I was touring most of the days, visiting the islands e. T. See and only spent a little time in the evenings trying to find some action.

On the day before I was going to leave I decided to check out Krabi Town, it is about 15km from the Ao Nang Beach Area. There are some buses, which go to the area, which probably cost about 50-100 Baht one way. I decided to use a Taxi, which is a bit more expensive, managed to negotitate 350 Baht one way, most of the drivers charge about 500 Baht one way.

I went to the town about mid-day as I did not really have much time in the evening as I had other plans. Try to look for a place called Chuanchan Massage, I cannot remember the road, but if you ask the taxi driver he should be able to take you there. On the bottom floor there is a karaoke bar, and if you go up to the 2nd floor there is a fishbowl. At this time of the day there were about 15 girls, a few very old, and not that many lookers, I was unable to find a girl I liked. So I left. A couple of roads parallel to this road, there is another road with about 10 MP's, again most of them have a fishbowl. I think I went in every MP, but was unable to find a good pick, and from the one I did, she was not offering FS or an Oil massage, only Thai.

I thought that was all the action that could be found. However the taxi driver knew one more area, with a few places. There was a small road with a few shop fronts. On one corner there was a pub called Heaven pub, Irish pub if I was not wrong, open but empty at that time, 2 shops down from there was a Sauna, went inside and there were 2 girls in there, not bad 6-8 I would say. They had no on site rooms, however the prices were 1500 for ST and 3000 for LT. I did not really have time to take either back to Ao Nang so I left it.

Now in between these 2 shops was another MP, in there were 4 girls, 3 quite young, 19-21 I would say and one old, 30+. Now the younger girls were quite cute all 7+. However 2 of the 3 were unable to provide Oily service. After asking again and again, the 3rd girl said she was happy to go ahead. Now I ended up paying about 600 Baht for 90 minutes, the price I am pretty sure included a tip for the taxi driver for bring me there of between 200-300 Baht. I was unable to negotiate anything better, so I just gave in.

Went up a couple of floors, rooms were very basic, just a massage bed and a mattress on the floor. Girl seemed pretty nervous, she told me to take my kit off and lie down face front on the mattress. She started giving me a massage for about 20 minutes. She then told me to turn over. She was still fully clothed at this point and I asked her to undress. She then asked me whether I wanted any extra services, she said FS and CBJ will cost another 1400. I could not be bothered to haggle so I said fine.

She was a 19 year old girl and when she undressed she had an amazing unblemished body. She first proceeded to give me a massage on my front for a little while and then she asked me if I was ready for the extras. I said yes and she took me to a shower in another room (remembering to take my wallet etc with me, just in case). I was then asked to have a quick shower and wash my bits, she also done the same.

After going back into the room she proceeded by giving me a CBJ for about 10-15 minutes, it was nice, not amazing but she seemed shy. After asking her to relax, she told me it was her first day at the MP and I was her first client. I then decided to help her out and tell her what to do. She was more relaxed afterwards, and was not doing too bad. We then ended up banging in a few positions for about 15-20 minutes, before I could not hold it anymore.

It ended up being a good session, and she allowed me to DATY but no DFK and she refused a BBBJ, probably as she was new, she was still a bit cautious.

I suppose if I visited this place in the evening there could have been more lookers. This is the only place I could find with some action, however the taxi driver told me there are a few Go Go Bars in the area and there should some action there.

This was the last bit of action before I left Thailand.

Ao Nang, Krabi, Phang Nga....

All are dead. That's nothing new.
Apart from a tiny hiccup in Krabi some 5 years ago, all of these towns have always been dead.
In the South, only the border towns and Nakhon si Tammarat, Phuket, Songkla and Hat Yai have a good time on offer.
Going to Krabi is a waste of your time, unless you want to enjoy the Night Market food.

Freeler, I haven't been down there in a year or so, but I found Surat Thani to have roughly as much if not more P4P going on than Nakhon Si Thammarat. Both are fairly good for provincial towns, though I would not recommend going to either. I'll include my feeble efforts on the subject.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Dont want to travel around with lots of baht or dollars on with me...

I had no problem with ATM machines in places like Mae Sot, Khamphaeng Phet or Nong Khai. I think you'd have to go quite deep into the bush to get away from an ATM these days.

Of course, it's still prudent to always have a bit of cash socked away for an emergency (3000 baht covers me, but YMMV).

ATMs everywhere. Some have a daily withdrawal limit. You might ask your bank what your limit is, and ask to increase it if necessary.

I never carry cash or TTs anymore, I only use ATMs in Asia and Europe.

One potential pitfall of using credit/debit cards in Thailand is that western banks consider that country to be such a high risk area for fraud, they can be very jumpy about locking your card if they see it being used there. Happened to me once, and has happened to friends. A couple of phone calls to your bank will get it unlocked, but this can be an inconvenience. Having more than one type of card, or keeping some cash or cheques in your safe is always a good idea.
