The bar next to Shadow Bar is now closed for renovations. Who knows if it will re-appear? Shadow Bar has no p4p. U2 is still there but no upstairs action.

On Dong Du the only one I know with p4p is just down from Hai Bai Trung but I never knew the name. The mamasan there is very reasonable and the girls are good.
There are a couple of regular bars opposite including the Cafe Latin with lots of sport on the TV's.
I have it on good authority that unfortunately the bar your talking about on Dong Du is about to shut down in a month or two. The internet 2 doors down shut down recently after 7 years there and Cafe latin has a month before relocation. I am afraid a ridiculous increase in rental prices may change this area dramatically in the years to come but who knows.

The bar that used to be on Mac Thi Boui at the opposite end of the street to U2 has closed and is being renovated for a restaurant. I found some of the same ladies in a new location near the river a few doors down from the Riverside and the 17 Cowboy bar. Had a Hard Rock syle sign out front. Mamasan wanted VD1,000,000 for an inhouse BJ. I told her and the girl that was ridiculous and walked out. Your theory about rental pressure may be correct.

Last night the one on the corner of Mac Thi Boui would not budge below 1.2 mill VD for a sweet young thing LT. I offered 800k expecting to negotiate to 1 mill but she would not move.
It was 10.30 and no other customers in sight when I walked out. Can't believe they are so stubborn that they turn business away.
Their chief argument seems to be that the girl has to pay the bar $20 or $30.
Called a freelance sweety (who left the bars for this reason) - 800k no problem.

From what I hear the whole of the Mac Thi Boui and Dong Du areas are likely to be redeveloped over the next few years with the result that a number of smaller bars and restaurants will have to move. Let's hope they stick together because the concentration of choices is good.
Had to spend a few days in Saigon on business last week. Unfortunately, was stuck with business partners the whole time, including dinner parties, etc. Couldn't really explore the night life on my own. However, did form a couple of opinions:
1. VN girls are really good looking. For some reason, they are leggier and have more "Eurasian" features than most other Asian women. Maybe some French blood got into the gene pool over the years? But VN women are definitely stunning. I can now understand why so many American soldiers came home with VN wives during the war.
2. I sense that VN women, while they can really be charming (what beautiful smiles!) when they want to be, have a high potential for developing into the legendary Asian "dragon ladies." In other words, they can turn into real bitches later in life. The really beautiful young women you see all seem to have an attitude already.
3. Some time ago, someone named "SingViet" posted a message on this board advertising "high class" call girls. He was directed to the Classified Ads section, where you can still find his post. Anyway, I phoned his number and all I got was someone yakking in Vietnamese. Absolutely no English. I tried to send a message, so they could take their time, translate my message, and reply. Still only VN. Absolutely no two-way communication. Total strike-out.

I will arrive in HCM early on a sunday morning afte ra long ass flight. I will be in hotel by noon. I dont have patience to wait until 6 pm to start mongering. Can anyone suggest where I can go to get a FS in the early afternoon?
I am hoping to get one in and then go back for nap and go out again after 9:00 pm for another round at the usual places. I just need a quick fix at lunch time coming in cold. I dont mind paying if it gets the job done quicker.
