Geneva Guy, in anticipation of returning to Vietnam in a couple of months I have downloaded Line in North America. No matter what I do, the app will not display "people nearby". I have tried every thing I clicked and unclicked boxes, tried to sync location in GPS, and nothing. The +add friends, sticker shop etc are there, but no "people nearby". I have gone online and know what it is supposed to look like, but I do not get "people nearby". Even Youtube doesn't address this. Is there any chance that this is a feature added to some of the Asian countries? Thanks. I was looking forward to trying this out when I am there. Maybe if I delete and reinstall the program? Thanks.

Thanks.[/QUOTE]I'm sitting in my easy chair in NE USA, looking at the 24 inches of snow we got. I have opened "LINE". I go to "More" (bottom right corner) and 9 icons pop up in upper half of screen and one of them is "people nearby". I can touch it and locals now appear. So it works here fine, and I used it in VN and singapore (although it hasn't caught on in SG). I'm using an iPhone, don't' know if that matters at all. GPS does need to be active to use this feature. Make sure that "people nearby" is not deactivated (gear icon upper right).

Someone suggested that you need the US version of LINE. I cannot find that to be true on their website. Mine was downloaded in the USA.

Thenks Geneva Guy. I have done everything I can think of to get it working including uninstalling and reinstalling. Crickets. I only get six icons in the box, not the nine that are shown when I look at Google pictures of it online. I have a feeling that is may have something to do with their latest update to the program in November. All the comments are critical about the update and commenting about how they have lost functions. Don't update what you have there or it may not work for you. I am going to download the desktop version and see if it is different.

I owe the group a review of my last trip to Vietnam in October which while fun, did not live up to my expectations. Hint don't waste your time going to Buon Ma Thuot where a woman who I had met online took me to ride the elephants instead of showing me where I wanted to go, that being a coffee plantation. F..ing elephants!!!! Her reason, "because I thought you would like riding the elephants more". She followed that by treating me at a local restaurant where I watched her and her brother eat tiny bbq birds, heads, beaks and all. She was giving me a treat and didn't understand my reluctance about not eating anything with the beaks still on. They happily crunched down my share as well. Three days and I saw elephants, waterfalls, some spectacular coffee shops and local scenery but never did get to see where they grow coffee. I ended up having to buy their local coffee in Saigon because even when I tried to buy the beans in Buon Ma Thuot the shops could not explain the difference in beans, could not speak any English, and had no interest in trying to communicate via Google Translate. The culmination of that portion of the trip was when I had her book my flight to Saigon for an 8:00 AM departure only to learn after the fact that she booked it for 9:00 PM. Her reason, "because it was cheaper". With checkout at 12:00, I cooled my heals in the airport for ten hours. She is a successful business woman who owns three clothing stores and toured me around in her own car. And I never got laid.

Enjoy your snow. Here in north western Canada we have about half an inch of snow with the temperatures right around 30 to 35 F. I am looking forward to Christmas though as a woman from Nha Trang who I have only met online is going to visit her daughter in Vancouver and agreed to come to spend three days with me in my city because she wants to see snow. I am sure you will see it if you change the store location to US. You only see the stripped-down version of it if the location is Vietnam (about 8 x MB). The US version is about 111 MB.

Although the city is not small, I couldn't find any bar with girls in the last 2 months. The city is boring. Many massage parlors but I don't know, what's on the menu yet. Found few chicks walking down the main road, offering FS for 400 K. That's all.

This place is very famous already. They have many good looking girls. Price is higher than the average of the region but worth it. Has clean rooms with sauna.
