I would differ from what Santa and Mumbai Guy has to say about the rates in Pune. Rates of mongering never depends on metros or bigger city (I exclude rural areas here). If you look at the availibility, people from Pune travel all the way to Dahisar or Panvel for fun. Why? The easy availibility and the cost.

We learnt the basics in Economics about demand and supply. Mumbai has comparatively good supply for the demand, but Pune has very limited supply compared to the demand and further it depends on Mumbai.

Mumbai is hub for all these mongering activities and each and every gal, whether its A***T, V****A or any other place don't call gals from their native village. They get them through the contacts/pimps, who are based in Mumbai. So how many middleman are here now for Pune? Its 2 middleman in case of Pune. Hence cost increases in Pune.

Further, when DB's were in its peak business, before its shutdown, the beer was costing something Rs 300 at a DB near Pune, on Old-Mumbai Pune highway, but in Mumbai it was just Rs 250 in majority of bars. Collection was very huge compared to 90% of bars in Mumbai (except deepa, topaz).

Nagpur, a city which has comparitively less monegering activities, was churning more out of a DB on Hingna road, as Nagpur had only 2 DB's till 2005, before it was shutdown.

Totally agree with you Mirza. Even I find the rates in Pune on the higher side compared to Mumbai.
