Yes this is the same girl that I rented the house for. I think I was sharing with Mr E recently that the last time I was there her father called and asked me for 1000 pesos. This is the same guy who won't drive across town to say Hi to me when I am there. And to make matters worse he didn't even come and get the money himself. He sent his son. Oh well we know the game.

I went again to Jaragua casino. It was Thursday and it was a slow night. No girls were inside the Merengue Bar. The live show began and a few couples enter. I was watching the show when suddenly and girl walk to my table. She was surprised to see me and asked me when I arrived to the city. The girl was pretty with an amazing body but I do not recognize her. She asked me if she and her friend can sit with me but I told her I was waiting for somebody. So she went back to the bar area where her friend was seated. They both were in "dress to impress" attire. I was curious to know who that girl is. I thought of almost every possibility but I was clueless. Maybe she was a girl from Puerto Rico, maybe one of the over hundred girls I have had sex with, maybe an employee from a restaurant or bar I have visited. I observed her dancing, taking pictures with the other lady, having a drink. I observed them leaving.

I stayed there a couple of hours more; it was a slow night in terms of girls in site. So I went to sleep by 2:00 am. The next day I took my ipad and opened Facebook. The dude with the CDs would not quit. We told him no 5 times. Then he put all his junk on our table which was rocking because it was not even. He starts arranging his CDs and shaking our table with our drinks on it. We didn't say a word. After about 3 minutes he put another cd in front of my girl and said what about this one? I picked it up and slammed it back in his box and said didn't we already tell your ass 10 times that we don't want any cds? He finally walked off to harass the people behind us. I really like the DR and Santo Domingo but, the hassle of the taxis, small time scams, and people trying to squeeze a dollar out of you really discourages me from going more often. I feel completely on edge about everything I buy and every where I go because of this feeling that someone is trying to screw me. I used to go to Cancun all the time for vacation but, I will not go anymore because from the moment I step out of the airport until the moment I get on the plane to leave someone is trying to sell me something or squeeze an extra dollar out of me. I do not mind if someone asks if I want a shoe shine or to buy a CD but, once I say NO they need to leave it alone and move on. The constant pestering is infuriating. This guy who asked you 10 times to buy a CD I am sure figured you would end up just buying one so he would go away. Good for you for telling him to go F him self. The funny thing is if the DR did not try and scheme so much, I would go twice as much as I go now and they would make make twice as much money.

- 200 is the most you should pay between most any locations without crossing the river.

- 400 is the most you should pay within the center city between any two points.

Some of you are probably thinking right now "I can't do this because I don't speak Spanish. " Get the hotel or other business where you are to call you a taxi. All you really need to know are the max fares shown above to let somebody else do the talking.

Waited 15 minutes for the cab to come got in the cab went 3 or 4 km to the casino with a stop at a pharmacy on the way. We went through the drive thru which took 3 minutes. When we got to the Casino he wanted $25.00. Ridiculous- Also, having the hotel, or restaurant or club call a taxi there can be a wait time of 10-15 minutes. In any case, I do I understand what your saying and in theory it is a good idea but, after a few drinks and other factors it isn't always the easiest option.
