During my travel on Tuesday next week, I have a layover of 14 hours during day time from 7 am to 6 pm. I will be obliged for suggestions as to how best I can make use of that time. I would be grateful for suggestions for joints nearer the airport as I cannot afford to waste time in travelling.

There is a left luggage counter at the airport and at the Central Airport Express Station. If you have a roller, you can take it along with you and you will not feel out of place.
HK is not that large and it is extremely efficient with a go go attitude.
If your passport gets you in without a visa or an easy transit visa, I would head to the places mentioned in Kowloon, the part that includes Jordan, MongKok, TST, and etc. Airport Express train gets you to the bottom for $90 in 20 minutes. Runs every 15 minutes. It is a bit out of the way but a quick taxi gets you to where you want to be. You can walk and get to the other subway lines.
Getting back is a problem during rush hour but you should be heading back to the airport at 4; 30 minutes to catch the train and get to the airport, 1 hour to get through immigration (if you don't have a HKID or APAC card), and 30 minutes to run to the gate if your legs are still working and not too wobbly. Since you have your boarding pass, they won't start kicking you off till all the passengers have boarded and noticed that you are missing. Taxis from Kowloon to the airport is fast because you hook right on to the highway; takes 20-30 minutes but runs you around $250 plus tolls unless you arrange an illegal flat rate from a telephone cab.
You can easily get in 4-5 sessions, if not more, at the places mentioned before.
BTW, when heading to immigration, there are 2 sections. I would check both sections first and see which one has the shorter passport line, not eChannel. Tour groups back up both the entrance line and the passport line.
Oh, there is a local train that takes you back close to the airport at Tung Chung but you have to transfer at Lai King along the Red Tsuen Wan line close to the play places mentioned. This is if traffic is bad getting to the Kowloon Station. For a newbie, I would just get a REGULAR Octopus card at the Airport Express counter at the airport arrival hall after you leave customs. This will cost you $150 (100 value and 50 deposit). Add another 50 to bring value to 150. Take Airport Express to Central Airport Express Station. Transfer to Tsuen Wan line (a very long walk) and go to Ya Ma Tei or Jordan or Mongkok or ShamSuipo and enjoy yourself. After done, head back to Red Tsuen Wan line and go to central to catch the Airport Express to Central. Retrace your steps and take the airport Express back to the airport. With the Octopus card and doing a same day airport round trip from Central, it will only cost 100. Your trip to Jordan etal will run 12 each way. Therefore, you will have around 26 left on your card plus the 25 you can use on ONE transaction to use part of the 50 deposit. Buy a 25 plus what else is left on your card gift at 7-11 or Watsons at the airport and keep the card for your next trip.
Wanted to put in my 2 cents for the brothers on this board. As background, I have gone to the Phils about six times and to German FKKs a similar number of times. So Saturday night I went out around 9 pm. Figured some DH's would be around and the bars were definitely more full. Checked out all the usual places, all within short walking distance. New Makati was hopping with Indos, they have a very distinct look, not really my cup of tea. Didn't buy a drink in there but it was hopping. All in all I would say that HK is pretty good compared to the US but if you find yourself in HK and have a few days, you can fly to Thailand or the Phils for around 200 bucks. Not a mongering destination obviously, but not terrible as it is all legal and plenty of fish. I considered going to Macau for a day but damn that is a lot of work for pussy, especially with the reported decline. I figured Macau would cost at least $500 USD per day--again not worth it with an AC trip coming up. I have to say I was tempted by the Russian ladies in sex 141 (the russian girls seem to all have videos on the site) but I can get those eastern euro ladies in the FKKs with much less risk and the performance is generally very good. I think it adds to the forum if people truthfully write price paid for services paid in Wanchai bars. What Smoky wrote is fairly much on the mark for price in Wanchai. Better that people's experiences err on the side of a bit higher than lower.

Before that they went town to 800-1000 LT from much higher than now because the high rates were not paid so the girls had to come down. You can't blame the girls for trying.
