Any recommendations on serviced apartments for short (2-3 weeks) stay in Bukit Bintang / City Center area? Looking for something competitive in price and quality with the nicer hotels in the region. I'll be working there but also hoping to partake of the action in the area.

I travel quite a bit and avoid staying at hotels as much as possible. I almost always stay at a short term apartment rental. There are a couple of good websites.
Airbnb, roomarama and homeaway. I have never had a bad experience yet.
It is basically staying in a fully setup home. You can pick your price level, how many bedrooms, area and so on. I also do a bit of negotiation if the prices are to high.
The Philippines and Germany had great pricing. KL was pricy but I negotiated down the price. I am staying in the heart of the city for 13 days. It is costing me $650. 00 USD. It is really a great location and very nice apartment. It has cable, internet, pool, gym, laundry and fully furnished of course.

E2 at Wisma MPL: 238 PRC, more for Russians / Mongolian; two levels, large menu, facial / mani / pedi ladies, CC accepted with 3% surcharge.
Saboon at Seasons Tower: 228 PRC, others available; like E2 in facilities & gets real crowded, so just do regular traditional massage / facial to wait for your hottie.

My SOP for full sauna / spa package is to just pull out my wallet & wristwatch as I enter and request for safety deposit box (or, just point to it). They, then, understand that I want to relax and make use of their facilities, so one of them point or lead me into the locker room. After that, I'm on my own to roam around the place, until I'm ready, then, back to the front desk or grab a papasan to see the ladies. Afterward, I cool down, rejuvenate, and refresh myself before getting dressed. I only pay when I retrieve my wallet. In some places, if only doing massage / FS, you have to pay first.
